Robb40
I have a project X 6a3 and a Bassara Hawk 53 that will get a test run first. I love the Bassara in the Cally so it may be a keeper. I am thinking about getting the real Gloire adaptors instead of the R1.
idrive
Is there an open setting for the adapter? In pictures of this gloire and previous models, the face always looks slightly closed to me. The correct adapter has loft adjustment only Anyone know if the adapter is the same for all taylormade drivers? The correct adapter for the new Gloire is the same as the SLDR. They (adapters) are not all the same.
driverhead
If you think the GLORIE 2014 driver is something special and it is...... The 3w is as good or better. The stock shaft is on the loose side like the driver but I have a SPEEDER 661 in there and its amazing. Best 3w off the deck and tee I ever hit (including the EGGS). I havent played in temps above 45 degree in 4 months and mostly in the mid 30s. Even in matted dowm winter bermuda it is easy and long off the deck. The EGG utilities have been at the top of my hybrid queue for years, but based on the 3w performance I am going to check out the hybrids. If you get the #4 to use as 4 iron replacement.... it won't work. Too long. Will be great to replace the 3 iron however....
Robb40
Idrive how much do you believe in the GD MT6?? I do not like the ADDI in terms of feel. Just feels stiff and board like to me. Very consistent but not for me.

Im thinKing 24 and 27 degree heads and with the tour sleeves I have I can adjust the loft up to 2 degrees each way.
Bill3508
Robb, you want to try a Matrix 6x3 white tie? Real smooth shaft compared to the GD.
Robb40
Bill, Thanks I a torn right now. After reading reviews of the GD mt6 I don't think it's my shaft. Reviews state that it is not as smooth as the ADDI. Just don't care for the feel of the ADDI.

Reviews state that it is not as smooth as the ADDI. Just don't care for the feel of the ADDI. GD MT6 feels nothing like the DI. Much smoother, no where near the same (harsh) feel. Quite smooth actually and I can tell you it goes very well with the Gloire. I've tried the DI in a Driver, FW and the Ute shaft. Didn't like anything about them. That reminds me.... I have some Di's for sale.....
Bill3508
I drive making me want to try the mt6 also cause I never really found the di to be that great.

Robb40
Well my bassara hawk is adaptor ready for the Gloire head. It looks great. I play 18 tomorrow so I am excited to see if this is a good combo. Feels good and a little heavier than the stock shaft. It plays 45.5 so I like that much better. Robb40
Just had a chance to weigh the Gloire with the Bassara Hawk. 301 grams. Feels much better all the way around. Playing an unfamiliar course today SOOO we will see but I love how it feels in practice swings. I like my drivers at 300 to 310 in terms of total weight. Duffer19
Looking forward to your review with the hawk. I have a Griffin and a Crazy LY02 6.2 that could go into a Gloire head. I can play shorter with a heavier shaft than stock.
Bill3508
I may have to pic up one of these. I already have an r1 that i play with from time to time with several shafts.
Robb40
18 holes in today. Very wet in fairways here in middle Kentucky. 8 out of 11 fairways. 1 fairway missed due to my poor aim. I wanted to hit a fade but I did not give myself enough room around a very large tree on the right. It nicked a limb and shot right into a hazard. I am still very excited about the feel and forgiveness of this club. The Bassara hawk was mid launch at 9.5. I lowered the loft and it was just too low a launch. I do not think this combination is spinning a lot because I still was able to get some roll out even in semi-wet fairways. Right now I will stand by my earlier comment that this is the best head that I have ever tried. Jbeam long but so much better feeling and forgiving. I may try a GD mt6 or a used Quadra from Idrive. Robb40
I must add that this head is very workable. I can hit a fade or a draw whenever I choose. Now obviously this is assuming that I am swinging halfway decent. Four bogeys today came from the fairway due to poor iron shots. I was in trouble twice today from the driver and honestly one was poor aim and the other was just a crappy swing. I am sold but I do want to try more than one shaft to get this baby optimal. It is very long but he can be erratic because it does not seem to be super forgiving. I have hit this club and there is no comparison in terms of feel. I'm not convinced that the Shaft tips are compatible/interchangeable. R1-New Gloire.
Robb40
The sldr adaptor is better. The R1 has so much extra options that it is not a good fit.

Im not a fan of the R1, or TM in general really. It feels and sounds like your hitting the ball with a wood plank. I bought it on a whim. Actually tipped a s300 s for it playing at 43.5", d6 last week. Havent hit it yet though, its heavy for sure.
Bill3508
You know i just havent liked the addi shafts in several drivers now. I still have a addi 6 and 7 for my 913d2 but rarely play them. They just have no feel. The GD BB 6&7 on the other hand feel great. Matrix shafts are amazing, and Miyazaki is somewhere in the middle. gocchin
Watched the Daikin jlpga tour event today in Okinawa. Gloire was the number one driver in play. The ladies tour here is always reflective of what is hot in the men's retail market in Japan. Even non TM pros try and get the gloire in their bags!
