Robb40
i have a 12 degee 430 SLDR but due to the harsh winter I havent used it yet except at the winter heated range with frozen rocks. Not the best test environment. I also have a 12 degree 460 SLDR that I have set to 14 degrees with a tour sleeve and a Miyazaki Kusula white shaft. Do you think the GD mt will get the spin down. The Gloire is so forgiving that I hate to give up. Unfortunately I have a swing flaw that creates more spin with the driver. For me to be below 3000 rpms is a milestone for me. THE 460 SLDR is dialed in big time, and one of my top 5 goto drivers. I get a perfect controlled draw trajectory. I had off the chart results yesterday with the MT 5 in the GLOIRE head. Today I will try the MT in both the 430 and 460 SLDR along with the MESSENGER.
HatchmanSS76
Just picked up my little JDM 10° 430 SLDR with TM1 114 stiff form the post office today. Can't wait for Saturday to come around and crush some pills. Currently gaming a 10.5° 460 SLDR with GD ADDI 6s set on 3 notches to draw @ 11°. Going to put my GD ADDI 6s in first up as it turned my 460 from a very good driver to a great one. Really interested to see if I get a slightly lower ball flight as I'm having no problems with air time with the 460, if any thing it's flying a bit too high since changing from the regular stock speeder to the ADDI. I don't have high swing speed, I'm only just past the mid 90mph.
craniac76
i dont think 430 head is any lighter. tour van heads seen on ebay both 460 and 430 seem to be around 195-197g (not hotmelted) and i wouldnt call that heavy at all. no idea how heavy/light jdm version is. how heavy is your 460 head anyway ? i read you can get different weight plates for them. i actually want a heavier 430 head 200+ or something, saw one jdm 430 tour head with toe screw on ebay too. edit: one of the 430 jdm heads on ebay says 202g weight. Mine is 204g including the tip adapter. It's not hotmelted.
HatchmanSS76
Gamed the my JDM 430 yesterday with my GD ADDI 6s at 10.5 for the first time. Loving the look of the smaller compact head at address. Contact felt nice an solid. Hit a few towards the toe, heel and high of centre off the face and none felt god awful so that tells me it's forgiving. Ball flight was strong and penetrating and much lower than my 460. May even jack the loft up to 11 for the next game to see what effect that has. The only down side yesterday was I wasn't swinging anything well so was a bit erratic with the dispersion. It's possible I was trying muscle it too much as well. The couple I nutted out of middle were like, wow. Looking forward to the next outing. Hopefully I'm striking it better to see how good the club really is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So because it didn't feel "god awful" on mis hits that tells you it's forgiving even though the dispersion was not good? Off center hits were bad (despersion) the ones nutted were great. Sounds like a great driver that's not very forgiving, which is what you're going to find regardless of how it feels.
Bobby jones
Took my SLDR out for first round of the season and I continue to be blown away by the distance on this driver. Best judge for me is hitting against my playing partners whom I've known for 20 years and who are consistently past me by at least 10-15 yards...no more! Now I keep up with them or hit it past them. AMAZEBALLS!!!

The dispersion was all me, nothing to do with club. 2 blocks, the rest pulls all due to swing faults I have when I try too hard to muscle it further. No club is going to find the fairway when I swing like that. If it wasn't forgiving I would have expected to be hitting pull hooks and block cuts. When the ERC II was out I had a friend we called the "no where man". He had a good sound repeatable swing but in comparison to 3 of us was always 20m behind off the tee. One day he rolls up with the ERC II and is keeping up and passing us. His irons were still the same 2-3 clubs more than us from same distance so wasn't swing mechanics. Two of us went out and bought ERC II's and the difference was restored.
Mjr. D
I posted a review of the US 430. In short, long, nice feel, not overly forgiving, and such low launch the whole "loft up" thing is very legit. I've never hit a driver I can't get airborne but this on 9* with a low launch/spin shaft is a lost cause. Cool part is you can loft up to 10.5 and get near perfect trajectory with much more better ball control. If it's windy, keep it on 9. Very versatile.
