Dreamer
Just got hold of a set with Tour AD shaft. Find that the length is a bit shorter as compared to the main stream brands. Does it make sense for me to lengthen each club by 1/2"? Or should I go progressive? My 50* is 1" over standard My 54* is 0.5" over standard My 58* is 0.25" over standard. Thanks. Vegaman
JDM irons are usually a bit shorter as standard. with a 37.75 5-iron. Most common standard length for USDM irons is at 38 inches for a 5-iron. I have also noticed JDM clubs in general have pretty light heads and also SW. This is perfect for me that tend to play irons that are a bit over length at 38.5 for the 5-iron. This means I get a very comfortable SW of around 3 or slightly more after I add length to my JDM irons, doing the same with heavier heads sometimes give me a SW at 7 or even more which is too heavy. I recently put in semi-heavy shafts (DG Pro, I know I know) in my Callaway Legacy Blacks and got a SW at exactly 3 with a 38.5 5-iron build, perfect
Dreamer
Thanks. I did not pay attention to the spec, so was a surprise when I received them. Maybe I should play with the irons for a while before extending all of them as required.
