Posted March 11, 201410 yr Anyone has experience with the above combi? I have the Epon Technica Pro 1 (aka Type J) with NSPRO 750. Recently I think (or hope) I have improve my lag and finding the ball ballooning. The ball went very high, but I was losing distance, especially with the shorter irons. Thinking of reshafting the set with Steelfiber i95 or i80 shaft (something heavier than current 79g shaft). Wondering anyone has tried this combi before? Thanks.
March 11, 201410 yr i used to own that very set of irons...a excellent set of irons....if u want to hit the ball lower, perhaps ctaper in reg flex will help.
March 11, 201410 yr Author C-Taper may be too difficult to load? Yes, nice irons. I find it more forgiving than my other set of Yamaha V-Forged 2013. It is also more soft feeling as well.
March 11, 201410 yr most lower launching low spin shafts are a bit harsh....of course i don't know your swing or the amount of backspin you generate.....for the slower swingers who do not aggressively attack the ball, the Modus 120s will keep the ball lower and they feel awesome.....i saw a set of Nippon super peening red that might be the trick as well.....only way to find out is to shaft a single club and narrow it down from there ! Good luck, its fun experimenting
March 11, 201410 yr True Temper Monacos with Balance Certified counter balance weights I have 2 sets - x, tour x Great feel with this set up Try a test build on your 6 or 7 iron
March 11, 201410 yr ummmm, if ctapers in reg flex are hard to load, monacos in tour x flex will be a tad bit harder ??? OP is using nippon 750th currently
March 12, 201410 yr Author I hit my 7-iron around 150m (165 yards), so I am between a Reg and Stiff. Generally I am lazy, thus I prefer a lighter shaft. I try the KBS C-Taper Lite (~105g?), and like it. Just wondering will the i80,i95 be better since they are lighter.
March 12, 201410 yr I80 will launch higher as compare to i95. I've tried both. If you are trying to bring down your ball flight, would suggest i95 or their payer series.... Aerotech plays stiffer to flex so a R should be ok for you if you're in between flex
