driverhead
I have the Gloire 2014 driver and am still in the shaft matching process. When I find a great setupI i will report back. The Gloire 3W is fantastic. The stock shaft was a bit llight and loose like the driver. A Speeder 661 turned out to be the perfect fit for me. It is equally great off the tee or deck. The feel is fantastic, and it makes fw play very easy. I just put 2 new GLOIRE 2014 Hybrids in play. The stock HYBRID shafts are much tighter and crisper than the driver and FW shafts. They were a perfect fit out of the box. I turned the 5 from 24 to 22.5. 1st shot I hit was 185 yards to 5 feet from the pin. Perfect mid trajectory dead straight. The 66 27 degree I de lofted to 25.5. Super easy to hit. These hybrids are a match for the EGG UT in wow factor and ease of use and are even more forgiving. Miuramaniac
Glad you're getting on with these, but are they Glorie or Gloire? Serious question. Edited March 12, 2014 by Miuramaniac

idrive
What i would add to DH's review is just how solid they are. Off center hits are very forgiving as well.
Robb40
Okay I have been touting the Gloire head as the best I have ever hit. I am also curious about the woods. However I must say that it is disappointing that these heads need a different shaft to really come alive. Pretty pricey stuff to have such average shafts in them. I would love to try the 3 wood or a hybrid but geez then I have to drop another $300 in a shaft. Kind of silly. This technology is really something special but TM needs to put real, quality shafts in them to start.
gocchin
R, The reason why is because this driver is targeted at average golfers. So the shafts are light and soft and made for those specific target audiences. This is TM's premium distance line and for most golfers in Japan, the shafts work, and for those who they don't work, TM offers plenty of upgrade shafts. The Gloire line is one of the most popular here in Japan among Seniors and ladies and for good reason, it performs for them. But as you guys have discovered, they are very good heads, very good designs and with the right shaft can be a bomber.
Duffer19
I can concur that the stock form Gloire is great for senior. I gave my 1st generation stock R to my brother who is in his early 70s ans he couldn't be happier. Gain back at least 15 yards from his pervious miura precious. The forgiveness of the head is the selling point of the club. Off centre hit is not as punishing as other drivers.

But fast swingers need forgiveness to. I am glad I picked mine up at a decent price. At least I have a little room for a better shaft. xerobound
As we all know, finding that perfect match is an ongoing process... ;) That's part of the fun. The new Gloire looks stealthier and looks more like a "player's' driver than the previous model. IMO. If they only made this head with a square to slightly open face angle... That'd I'd love. You can square the face by lowering the loft.

I am looking at the mt6 so please pass on the experience. I think my shaft search has ended for the Gloire DRiver. I put a GD MT 5 in the head at 46 inches total length. Today was a good day to evaluate as the temps were in the mid 60 to low 70s and the high winds the past 2 days dried out the course. I hit the club so good on the range with my desired trajectory, a strong mid to high draw that got at least 10 yards roll I put it in play in the season opening tournament and missed 1 fw in 14 and that was only 1 yard in the 1st cut rough. No snap hooks , or lagging right shots. The GT 5 shaft is maybe the best feeling smoothest shaft ive ever hit. My good hits were in my summer average distance range, the 260 to 275 range. I was also impressed on the into the wind performance, that had been lacking with other shafts I tried. The ATTAS 4U was great in calm or down wind conditions, but dropped off big time into the wind. I have a MT 6 also and will try that after the next major snow event (coming monday) who knows when Il be able to play again but I cant see it beating the MT 5. . The Glorie 5 hybrid I only had a chance to hit once today on a 185 yard uphill par 3. I pured it over the flag, but was long 50 feet past the pin. I wish I was closer , but the shot quality was as good as I can expect. Edited March 16, 2014 by driverhead

HatchmanSS76
What tip/adaptor does the Gloire take? SLDR or R1 type or does it take a whole different one?
lousifers
It can use SLDR adaptor
