Posted May 9, 201410 yr Anyone got the info (5i-PW)? I wonder why I hit this iron better than others, considering I'm high handicapper but this is MB model. This may be the key to consider my next iron purchase. Thanks in advance. Mark
May 9, 201410 yr IDK what the specific bounce numbers are, but I do know that, like the '12's, they have a pretty wide, very cambered sole for an iron in that category (blade/low HC). Which IMO works great for all types of swings AND all kinds of turf.
May 9, 201410 yr It might be the wide sole as you suggest but probably wouldn't be wider than Mark's xxio. Besides sole, it could very well be the weight of the tour forged too. Most SGI clubs are light or too light at times so good contact could be a challenge for some. What weight of the MCI are you using Mark?
May 9, 201410 yr Author MCI 60R, sir! The point you made about XXIO was good. Maybe that as well. That point combines with better feeling might help me a lot as I knew when I hit it pure so easier to find my way back to good shots
May 9, 201410 yr Mark, One of the reasons why I love the 13 yammie tours, looks like a blade but plays like a cb, very forgiving. Yamaha got this bad boy right, I believe the sole is very versatile and can be played with any condition.
