Posted November 18, 201410 yr I am a high handicapper looking for a set of easy SGI irons. I have narrowed down to ONOFF red irons (NSPRO 95GH regular shafts), which I find very forgiving (I have played the 2012 version) in comparison to my current set (Epon AF-503 KBS Tour 90), but one of my friends asked me to consider XXIO before making the purchase as he thinks they are even more forgiving than ONOFF. I am unable to find a demo club for XXIO series 8 (NSPRO 900 DST shaft). Does anyone have experience with XXIO? Are they easier to hit in comparison to ONOFF red irons? Many thanks, Brian
November 18, 201410 yr Hi Brian, I just asked the same question recently for my uncle & among the sets mentioned: - yamaha ud+ - prgr super Egg - xxio
November 18, 201410 yr Author Thanks for all your inputs. Really need something super forgiving here as I don't have much practicing time. When my swing is off (which is quite often), I need something which can still let me aim and land on the green (may be too much to ask for?). For example, shots played with my set of Epon 503 (which was club fitted) may tail off left or right just outside the green (into bunkers, roughs or other hazards), whereas the set of ONOFF Red irons (2012 version) I recently tried really let me shoot for the green. So...ooo forgiving. Will try to demo the VG3 Type E.
November 18, 201410 yr If you've found something that works for you (Onoff), why are you still looking? I'd stop why you're still ahead, lest you turn into a club ho like the rest of us!
