smstef
Hello easy and classic situation , I played Yamaha Vforged 2012 and was really comfy with them , went from 30 hcp to 20 , then i switched for the great AF-302 , no need to talk about these club there are really close to perfect . playing them now since a year and struggling to stay under 15 . after a long thinking I figured out that I just need more forgiveness for the lazy days , the not-fit days . so I started to look around and I'm ending with what I think is the 2 best possibilities AF-503 or Kuro 2015 my problem is that I cannot find anyone who tried both , and as I live in France , you can imagine that it's almost impossible to see them real :) so If you have an advice or if one of you had the chance to play both , my ears are open and of course , as I will stop playing my 302 , trade is a real option , but that will be maybe a different topic thanks Stephane
lone Ranger
I personally think the Kuros are better..Much better But there not Epon!
EdGolf
If forgiveness is what you are after, the 503. Kuro should play similar to your
lone Ranger
The Kuro's are easier to hit than the 302, but to be fair you should be looking to hit the middle!
smstef
The Kuro's are easier to hit than the 302, but to be fair you should be looking to hit the middle! that's a good one :) I'm usually hitting in the middle , but I'm playing ofetn in the evening after a working day , and it's getting tough after the 13-14th hole and then goodbye the good result
akapur
The 302 is a players club, so it would not be considered a GI type of iron The 503 are easier to hit and less punishing on mis**ts. The Kuros are very nice and easy to hit The 503's are easier and more forgiving then the Kuros, However the kuro's are hotter and longer then the Epon clubs. You should also look into the 2013 OnOff irons as they are a great combination of forgiveness and length
Shankopotamus
+1 for the 2013 Onoff. Just pure awesomeness.
smstef
Hi First , thanks for your comments Regarding the onoff , two things appears , first the kuro are close to the 302 , so it's out of the game And second , I forgot to mention that the look is important to me , and sorry but the onoff 2013 are not my style. And after some talks , I may reconsider the name of my post , it seems that I am now on the course between af-503 and af-703 with maybe a plus for the 703 . Will explore this I officially have a set of 302 heads to sell and now just have to find the best deal for the new ones Stephane Edited March 26, 2015 by smstef
bluejays
a jump from 302 to 703 may be a little big, the loft of 703 is much stronger too. I am playing 503 and they are great!! very forgiving and easy to hit. I think the 503 should suit you well. I have also played the 502 before and they are also very good. lousifers
Another vote for 502. Feel is subjective but I've all 502, 503, and 703. Love 502 the most but 703 is also very good. Somehow I don't like the 503 Btw, don't try 702. For ME, it's the worst from Epon
smstef
, so after long thinking , I will go to 703 i think who wants 302 heads ? :)
potuna
Onoff Kuros, I haven't hit 503s or 703s but had 502s. I'd put 2013 Onoff second not sure what problem you have with their look. Results always trump looks for me.
bstnyc
I tested/owned all the irons that you are considering and would categorize them as follows: - Players CB: 302; AF-Tour CB - GI: 503, Onoff Kuro, 303 - SGI: 703 I gamed the 503s for the past year and was looking for a second set of players iron to be used at the range to further improve my ball striking. After reading through rave reviews on the Onoff Kuros, I got a second hand set to try for a few weeks. I find the Kuros to be too similar to the 503s (both loft and ease of use) so I sold them. I then tried the new Epon 303 and Tour CB, personally I think 303 is basically the 503 without the pocket cavity (again, both in loft and ease of use) and the Tour CB is the true sucessor to the 302. I ended up getting the Tour CB as my practice irons. As for the 703s, they are definitely SGI, very easy to use but not pretty to look at given the supersized head. I would recommend getting any of the the three sets in the GI category (depends on your personally preference) and keep the 302s as practice irons. Hope this helps! smstef
hello all so here is the last update , I went to my CM and asked him to build me a club with the most forgiven/easy/beginner head and I went to play with this in my set result was immediate , when I'm tired or my swing is OFF , whatever I'm playing it's a mess , so I will keep with 302 and invest in more course with my coach . thanks again for all your comment , was really interresting have a nice day stephane
