March 23, 200421 yr I am looking a purchasing a club that claims to be a Tour issued 983 K. How can I tell whether or not the seller is telling the truth. Will the club be with out Serial #'s or will it have a special serial #. thanks. I have definately learned a lot from this site so far - Craig
March 23, 200421 yr Actually - you have to trust the person selling the club. I have had tour issues of Titleist that have and have not had the serial number. I also know for a fact that many demos have no serial numbers and clubs in Canada have no serial number.

March 24, 200421 yr Author The person claims to have gotten the driver from Tim Simpson. The driver is shafted with a Rifle 6.5. The one thing that is making me wary is that he claims the tour head was deigned to be lighter to be paired with a heavy shaft. Does this sound reasonable? Thanks for everyones help.
March 24, 200421 yr You can drive to Canada and do that exact same thing. I bought an early so called tour head without a serial number - after tracking the person that was selling them - he sold over 20 of these so called drivers. I emailed a couple of people and found out he was buying from a golf course in Canada and selling them as tour issue clubs. Fuji speeder 757's are easy to come buy. I also looked at a demo cart in Las Vegas and not one head had a serial number.
March 24, 200421 yr the feel is different on a tour K. the face is hotter, ball comes off with less spin and it will fly lower due to this. i know my sellers and my 983 tours are legit...someone buy one so i can get a j340 already!!!!!!!!!!!!
