Posted March 24, 200420 yr comment_30862 anyone have any recommendations for a j340 shaft? not sure if it matters, but i generally do not like light shafts... the loft is 9.2 on the club and i may look for a bit of height on it, i currently play a 8.35 LFF with DG x100, 43.5" d-3. the dg has a high traj. so just curious here, any help is appreciated...
March 27, 200420 yr comment_31283 I had a Fujikura SKW stiff shaft in my J340 10* driver and could not get it above the tree line. It rolled forever but in the final analysis I was unable to make that head and shaft work for me. I ended up going back to my R510 DF.
March 27, 200420 yr comment_31308 How about a Fuji HM-04 tipped 1"? It's 134 g I believe and has a very soft tip. However if you tip it an inch you might get a really nice result. Slater from Scratch golf swears by Dynamic Gold plays x100 in everything. Well he's using a Fuji TriTi and says it's the only graphite shaft that comes close to DG x100.

Yeah, I was going to recommend the TrTi...but not because it feels/plays like DG. I hesitate to do so because the TrTi puts a lot of spin on the ball. I don't think you want to add too much spin to the J340, being that it imparts a good amount of spin itself. No, I'd think that something like the SKW, 771TA, or even the (light) 660TR would be perfect for what he's looking for. The shaft I play in it, the 652, is necessary for me because it's 8.5*. If I had the head he has I'd go with one of the shafts I just mentioned.
