an909
I'm sure many of you have browsed the Callaway Pre-Owned site for the Pro Spec equipment. Well, I have to tell you that Callaway is one class act. I just received the a Callaway Steelhead III 4+ with an Aldila 85S Prototype shaft, and it is terrific. The thing has great balance and sports a nifty D-5 swingweight. It also feels much more solid and has a deeper sound at impact than other Steelhead III's that I have played. I would encourage anyone interested in owning a genuine piece of tour equipment to take a look at the Callaway pre-owned site. The prices are great ($170 for my club, including shipping) and the equipment is under warranty by Callaway (unheard of for other Tour equipment). The equipment ships out of Texas via FedEx home delivery, so it'll get to just about anywhere in the U.S. within 5 days. I'd love to hear from anyone else who has dealt with Callaway Pre-Owned to learn if they have had similar experiences.
Minimal302
I have heard that they sell pro spec equipment but haven't ever checked for myself. I will have to keep an eye out.
chainsaw
I've never been a big cally fan personally but everyone I've spoken with that has dealt with the site shares your opinion of it. I've heard nothing but positive experiences and stories of them going out of their way to please customers.
PxExG
Cally Pre Owned are amazing. you can get a SHIII with a nice high headweight and even a pretty good shaft (NV say) for >$200 and as said, it does have a warranty. unlike TMs tour DUMP on ebay, the heads are weighted + solid as opposed to empty POC. there always seems to be a nice tour driver too with a Fuji SIX (amongst others)
an909
If you look closely, you can usually find a driver or fairway wood with the face shimmed to square it up at address. With a little patience, anyone can find their preferred configuration.
2over
I picked up a GBB II Pro Series from them a few months ago with a Graphite Design PM702 proto shaft (the "Mickelson" shaft). It is a very sweet driver. At 44" with a 70 gram shaft it is D3 and feels very solid at impact. A great driver, in excellent condition for $349! You are right about the solid feel and nice, high swingweights. I like to play my driver at 44" with lighter weight graphite, and a D2-D3 swingweight which just isn't possible with retail clubs without a lot of lead tape or rat glueing. BogeyPross
Anyone know if the 415 tour issue is good? I saw one on ebay while looking at a shaft, never heard of them before.
scratchgolfnut69
it's supposed to be better than the fusion. alot of players switched to it when it came out.
