WTB or have donated irons for high school student.

Featured Replies

I saw this on another site and was thinking someone on here might be able to help out. I don't have irons that would fit the needs of this kid. Anyone here have something that might work? I have also emailed the poster of the message to see if contributing some $$ to help him out is allowed.

"I am looking for a good set of forgiving irons for a freshman high school golfer. They need to be forgiving and at a good price. This is a good kid with limited money to spend."

Additional information is they are looking for regular shafts and to keep the price as low as possible. If anyone has something that might work let me know and I will forward the information.

Thanks

Additional informationg I have received:

Student has been playing a little over a year.

9 iron distance is about 120 (note: using very cheap off brand clubs)

Mentor says that he has helped other kids in the past, but most have given up on the game quickly. This kid has stuck with it and hits balls every chance he gets. Unfortunately the kid doesn't have a lot of money and has never been able to afford formal lessons.

Typical ball flight is a slice.

Suggetions for irons and possibly training aids/books/videos are welcome.

Thanks

Have a great Memorial Day and remember those who give service to your country (wherever you are from)!
