jonny5
Hi guys. new to this forum but have been doing a lot of reading to catch up on things... got a question and was hoping you guys can help. I'm in the market for a 3 wood and I just want you guys opinion on these two 3 wood that i've narrowed down to. Both with NV-75S shaft. I've only had the chance to hit the mp-001 but didn't get a chance to try the np-99. Please advise. Thanks

Thanks Definitly try and hit the NP before making your choice, I think the 3 wood with NV 75-s shaft is one of the best that I've tried, especially if you play into any kind of wind. jonny5
but i dont have the source to get a np99 in nv shaft to hit..... I can only get it on ebay. I only tried the mp-001 with nv shaft was through a friend that had it. Basically, I'm hoping you guys can give me the pro and cons of the clubs. for instance, one is more forgiving than the other, one is easier to work than the other, or one goes farther than the other...etc... thanks
dunkotime
Having played both, they are both good clubs. The mizuno will have a more muted feel at impact. Almost like it is filled and has a muted sound to it The sonartec has a good feel to it, but it is the more metallic feel that some clubs get and a bit louder sound. Feels a bit "hotter" off the face. I am currently playing the sonartec, but could easily put the mizuno in the bag. Both have a good compact look. Breal
I have tried both and I liked IMO the NP-99 the sound and the feel was better to me. The MP-001 is also good I just didn't like the muted sound and feel, it didn't feel hot of the face like the NP-99. JMO

Check it out. sweet thanks, hope it comes with nv shaft.... BTW, can anyone tell me which 3 wood has a lower trajectory? I tend to hit it high all the time. xxio
It does come with the stock NV 65 and 75 in all flexes, plus the combo flexes as well. I'm trying to do a search on the reputation of these guys before I pull the trigger. If you do order tell me how it goes.
jonny5
I'm most likely gonna get it through ebay.com. The prices there go for lower than 220+10 shipping. It has sonartec np-99 with nv shaft and the mp-001 with nv is harder to find.
forgedcrazy
just for your info the mp001 is foam filled i found out while reshafting one with an NV last week.
stevopagolf
Mizuno is easier to hit for sure at least for me. If you can find a Hot Metal it has the hotter feel of the MP-001.
jonny5
Mizuno is easier to hit for sure at least for me. If you can find a Hot Metal it has the hotter feel of the MP-001. so this hotmetal mizuno is same as mp-001 just hotter feel or what are the other differences? This hotmetal is older style? Also, how much will it run for? Thanks
stevopagolf
The Hot Metal looks alot like the 970. There is a13.5* on ebay right now for aroun 150. That is a bargain! Has a slightly railed sole and was Japan only when released.
jonny5
the hotmetal you're suggesting, can you tell me what kind of wood will this be? In terms of workability, distance, forgiveness, etc.... Thanks
stevopagolf
Hot Metal 13.5* would be a strong 3 wood. Has a square face. workability is good, distance is outstanding, pretty forgiving.
jonny5
how bout some comparisons, is it longer than mp001 or np-99? is it more workable than mp or np? is it less or more forgiveness than mp or np? Cuz I only hit the mp-001 b4...really tough to compare.
stevopagolf
I have both for me, they are equally forgiving. The Hot Metal because of the little heavier head (No composite) and the railed soles is better out of the rough. Can't go wrong with either. I haven't hit the NP, but Sonartec are tougher to hit than the MP.
