Posted July 23, 200420 yr Needs refinishing, but depending on if the head is foamed, I may not be able to powdercoat it. If not, I'll contact CCC. If it's foamed, anyone have recommendations? Is Golfsmith's work reputable? Thanks.
July 23, 200420 yr I heard The Iron Factory is the way to go when needinig to rechrome a head. obvoiusly he does not know what a J340 is... :-D it's a driver..and a damn fine one
July 24, 200420 yr I just got my head back from Max, at http://www.golfpsychos.com/Index.htm. I asked Jim, at CCC, and he thought it was foamed. Joe K. says almost all the ones he has seen is not. If you have a dental pick and the J340 head, then you can dig around and see if yours is foamed or not. I hadn't buff the head before taking pics. I don't think you can go wrong with either Max or Jim.
July 24, 200420 yr Author The head looks nice. How does the refinish compare with the original? How long did it take and how much did it cost? Thanks for the pics.

I did not know. Simple mistake on my part. But unlike you, I was just trying to provide information and be nice :-)
July 24, 200420 yr The head looks nice. How does the refinish compare with the original? How long did it take and how much did it cost? Thanks for the pics. $83.00 including shipping. It doesn't match the original color, it was a lighter blue but, it does look like a TM Black/X -drive color.

Also it would help if you read original post closely because I don't think it is possible to foam an iron head. :smile1:
July 25, 200420 yr xxio, This post is really starting to go way off topic. He was being a smart @ss and I responded. There really is nothing to calm down about.

Does it still have the "metallic" look? Thanks.
July 25, 200420 yr I am satisfied with the work. I think the original color is going to be very hard to match but, it looks like any other Tourstage X-drive or TM head now. If you can verify that your head is not foamed, then you can send it to Jim at CCC, and save a few $$$.
