  1. I would choose the 6 shots, because this would mean that my current setup would automatically become my dream setup - guranteed. Whereas going the other way wouldn't gurantee an improvement of 6 shots...
  2. Living in Singapore and buying from the States is an not-so-attractive option due to the postage costs. I can buy the marxman in Singapore, but it is at least 20% cheaper in Tokyo. As it is I got a colleague to pick one up in Tokyo and send it to me via a company courier. In the meantime I did pickup a tour Rife Scarab off eBay which I putted with for the first time over the weekend. During the Second round anything 15-20 feet on or off the green went straight in the hole (6 one putts in a round), so lets just say the honeymoon has started off very well.
  3. I don't suppose there is a mallet style with a goose neck hosel?
  4. I don't have any hard evidence, except my own experience. I live in Singapore so I'm exposed to both the Japanese and US spec. I find that generally the Japanese spec shafts do play a softer then the US spec - how much softer varies model to model. The greater difference though is that shafts for the Asian market (in general) are lighter then what is offered in the US, i.e in terms of stock shafts.
  5. I was in tokyo a couple of days ago and visited a couple of the Victoria stores - a bot dissapointed I have to say as I didn't see any high end gear at all... Anway, back to the point. I tried an Odyssey Marxman putter and loved it, nailed every putt in the shop from about 6 feet and loved the feel and sound. Unfortuneately I left without buying it. Now I have non-buyers remorse. Is anyone using one of these yet, I'm curious as to how it plays on real greens...
  6. If there is no serial number then it is more likely that the head is real but came directly from the factory (via a back-door ;) ), i.e. before serial etching in another factory (probably in Japan). The XR couldn't have ceom from a tour van as the XR is non-conforming. I believe that TM has the serial number etched on the hosel after they arrive at the destination market.
  7. That makes complete sense, thanks for explaining. Claus, so the Titleist, TM, etc in your profile is no good then? I am relatively new to golf and even newer to JDM, but I can tell you that you shouldn't assume that everything coming from China is of poor quality.
  8. Mind if I ask why Japanese only? I mean if you're looking for a great fairway, why not consider Tour Edge Exotics as well (not the CB2). I know this is made in the US, but it trully a great club.
  9. beautiful wedge... I live in Singapore so I play in soft conditions all the time. Shame I just purchased a set of TM y-cutters....
