  1. What the hell are MACH line shafts? This site is insane.........but i love it!
  2. Ya, i'm wondering that too. This is all driving me nuts. I need to make some shaft decisions and soon. I just bought a J33R 8.5 Bridgestone driver today. It came with a Aldila Proto shaft. I wanted to snap the shaft over my leg on most holes. Piece of crap in my opinion. I hit one good drive.......Par 4 - 362 to the green........i stuck it in the greenside bunker. All my other drives were slices. The head was very solid and satisfying though.........a great "thunk" sound! Good distance with low spin too! Shaft i just hate though. Under Tokyo Golf Show, Chris said something about Axiv and Accra shafts. Santa, can you check that out and let me know what u think he's saying? I take it that he's saying Accra is more suited for a faster swinger where Axiv is for a slower swinger.....but not slow. Also, does a high slice indicate that my shaft can't catch up to my hands? Zerohandy stated the F7M2 is a low spin, low trajectory shaft but with a soft feeling tip. What exactly should one gather from that? Thanks man! I gotta get this narrowed down here. I'm thinking J33 8.5 with either Accra SE80 M5 or F7M2 XX stiff, or Graphite Design Tour AD i-65 or one of the Axiv or Roddio. I don't think i'm going white board Diamana..........hear great things and i have a Diamana, but think it's suited for a more smooth like swing. I torque the living hell out of shafts. Buying a Technity 460 (this is all if you care by the way........this is me rambling now.....haha) with one of those shafts mentioned above too. I guess i'll try the .5 open face too.............hope it's a good decision. And i guess i'll try the 13 degree Technity with Lord knows what shaft. For my Hybrid, i'm thinking of going with the Speeder 904 Hybrid (100g, 1.9 torque, 32 tip). Comments welcome.......anyone. Alright, i'm done. Baha.
  3. Blader X.........you're like the Santa Claus of the board. You bring me nothing but joy with your posts! Haha.
  4. Fantastic info man! Thanks a lot for that. I was wondering. What if i have a natural fade though? Thanks.
  5. By the way, how are you liking those Gold's Factory wedges. I LOVE the looks of them. My favorite looking wedge. Just not sure about the price yet. But whatever........it's only money right! Give me some comparisons with other wedges please. I'm looking for new wedges.
  6. I bought some Titleist Pro V1x's, Bridgestone B330tours, Callaway HX tours and Nike One Platinum. I mean i like all of them, and to be honest, i'm not sure i'm a good enough golfer to distinguish between them. I know i really like the Bridgestone.........i think i might get a little more distance with them. Titleist seems softest, but with the least distance. That's about all i've noticed thus far. I'm looking for something that'll spin less since i get plenty of spin with my irons (i balloon the ball a lot) and lower more penetrating trajectory, more distance. Thanks!
  7. What exactly is tipping anyway? Just cutting the shaft a little shorter to make it stiffer? When you say custom face angle.........what would benefit someone with my swing speed? An open face? If so, why is that? Thanks very much man.
  8. Thanks Bat. I appreciate the info. Right now i'm using a titleist 905R with a Drev ICN Tour STIFF flex shaft. I'm actually avg about 310-315 with it but with pretty excellent control. Hitting most fairways. Not sure why, haha. Still though, i'm only swinging at about 70-80% with it. I'd like to find something that allows me to crank it up when necessary. Anyway, i'm wondering, how would you rate the clubs you've mentioned above with the Titleist 905R in terms of distance, spin, launch etc? Thanks a lot man. This is good stuff. I enjoy this forum.
  9. No man, no rambling at all! All that is great info. You obviously know a lot about not just equipment, but how it's incorporated with the golf swing. You're dead on with the Steep swing thing. I'm right handed and in my back swing, my left arm is no where near straight/extended. It's very bent, therefore not creating much of a wide arc. I also have a LOT of wrists in the swing. I would say that, more than anything, is where i get my power. Strangely though, i don't snap hook the ball ever. I have pretty good control with the driver suprisingly. I tend to balloon occasionaly and usually i have a bit of a fade. But that i think is do to my swing path. I also think highly of the Graphite Design line up. I'm thinking of going with the Tour AD i-65......sounds like a good choice for me. Other shafts i'm looking at getting are the Ozik F-7M in XX, but the torque at 3.6 seems a little high as i do feel shafts twist a lot when i swing. The Accra SE 80 M5 which i have tried with a Bridgestone head a while back. Can't say enough good things about that shafts. It's torque rating is 1.5, didn't feel boardy though, not sure but the tip i think is rated at 30. Whatever that means. I loved that shaft though. I love the look of the sister company Axiv and i'd love to get into a Axiv V but the torque rating on their strongest shaft isn't as low as the Accra.....not sure why. And lastly, of course, the White Board Diamana. Please feel free to give me your thoughts on all of this. I appreciate it.
  10. What do think is the best ball out there is for a very fast swinger that is looking to get even more distance? A 2 piece or a 3 piece? Low spin? I have no idea at this point but would love to know. Thanks.
  11. Can anyone help me out on this one? What is the point of going with a less than 460CC head? How does it affect the shaft? Lastly, who does an open face driver/3 wood compliment/suit? A harder swinger? I'm in the process of trying to buy a couple drivers and a 3 wood but it's pretty difficult to figure all this stuff out on your own. So i appreciate any help guys. Thanks a lot!
  12. Could anyone tell me what the trajectory is like with the Technity Driver and 13.5 degree 3 Wood? I know shaft selection has a lot to do with this but on the whole, anyone have anything they can tell me? I'm looking at getting both of these clubs but i'm also looking closely at Bridgestone's J33 driver and 15 degree fairway wood do to it's extremely low spin Characteristics. I swing really really fast (135+) and use a lot of wrist. Obviously i want someone to tell me why i should toss the Bridgestone idea out the window and get the Epon gear instead...........since they're glorious looking. But i can't do the ballooning thing.........had too much experience with that already. Thanks.
  13. Is this thing for real or some photoshop concoction? I love it!
  14. Tourstage, first Titleist then Fourteen. Is that Yellow Mizuno bag available? I love it!
  15. When i was recorded swinging 143, it was on a typical launch monitor.......i'm not sure what else i can tell you. Mmmm, i used a 45in long driver, i think it was a cleveland head with some regular or stiff flex shaft. I'd just never had my swing speed recorded before i just wanted to see what i could do. I read on Horsepower golf that with each inch in length you gain another 3-4mph of club head speed. So i'm thinking, with a 50in long club, i could add (5x3/4) 15-20 more mph, which would get me up to about 158/163 MPH. I don't know though...........that sounds a little ridiculous. But who knows? I have a question regarding square, open and closed faces. I personally cannot stand a closed face on my driver or 3 wood. Does anyone know if the beloved Technity driver and 3 wood have closed faces at all? I heard someone on here mention they do. I really hope not. Open would be optimal. Anyone have an answer for my question about 3 wood shafts vs driver shafts and hybrid shafts. What constitutes their respective title? Meaning, why is Fujikura's Speeder HB shaft a hybrid shaft? Is it not wise to use that shaft in a driver head? Thanks again guys. Already learning lots. Hope everyone's having a great weekend playing some golf.
  16. Cool, thanks guys. I have a few things some of you might like to know. I just got done a round. Tried my new ping G2's ( i like the look of the G2's over the G5's) with TT Tour Concept X-stiff shafts. Last week i played my first round with my Callway Fusions with X-stiff Black Golds. I personally like the Tour Concepts more. They're incredibly accurate and forgiving. Honestly, i mean, i just bought them because they looked cool, and i love equipment, but no BS, they are pretty damn impressive. Quite suprised at the difference over Dynamic Golds. Just buttery and accurate........couldn't believe how accurate.....point and shoot really. As far as the Black Golds go, they're a little less forgiving i found, and also maybe a little more flimsy. I still liked them a lot and i'll have to give them a few more try's before i make a definite conclusion, but i didn't come away from my round last week feeling as impressed with them as i do my Tour Concepts. I've thought of entering the Re Max thing, but i don't know.........been too focused on my baseball career. As far as how far i can hit them.........it just all depends. It's a risk reward thing really. If i really swing as hard as i can, i might top 4 out of 10 or hit a few in the trees, but if i hit one perfectly, i can knock it out there 400 yards. I've done that a couple times. But on the whole, i'm usually going to swing at 70% and that gets me out there around 300-335, sometimes 350ish if i put a little more on it. It's my iron/wedges that are my round ruiners. Putting is real good. By the way.......what is considered to be too high of a trajectory? And also, anyone know what constitutes a shaft being a "fairway wood" shaft vs a "driver" shaft? Can you put what is considered to be a fairway shaft in a driver and vice versa? Thanks guys.
  17. Couple quick things. The guys at "Hotstik Golf" here in Arizona told me the lowest spinning driver they've ever tested is the Bridgestone J33P. They also said that Diamana is the only company who make all the materials for their shafts from the ground up. Other manufacturers buy the materials for making shafts from Mitsubishi a lot of the time...so he said. He also told me Accra shafts have a lower kick point than the Axiv line of shafts. I have no idea if any of this is "gospel" or not, all i know is when you go in their store, they all have white scientist coats, goggles and helmets on. It's pretty intense.
  18. Hey guys. Just joined the community. Love the site.......best on the net, love reading everything you guys have to say. I'm looking at getting all new drivers and a 3 wood and figured no better place to discuss than on here. I'm primarily an athlete. I love golf but i have a long ways to go. Handicap about 12-14, been playing 2 yrs. Anyway, i'm a big guy, 6 '4'', 240. You probably won't believe me but i've had my swing speed tested multiple times at 143mph with a regular length driver. Like i said, i'm more of an explosive basketball/baseball player than golfer right now, but with enough practice, hopefully i can use than to my advantage. Obviously the 143 readings are 100% effort. When i play a real round of golf, i'd say i'm more in the 125-135 range. Right now, the driver i use is a Titleist 905R with a Drev ICN Tour, stiff shaft and i had a Callaway X 15 degree 3 wood with a NV75 X-flex shaft. I balloon both of these pretty bad. I've gone through a fair amount of drivers/3 woods and i'd like to finally settle down with two true loves. Soooo, anyone care to give me any suggestions for a head/shaft optimal fit? I'm sure i need something low lofted, low spin, tip stiff with the shaft, high kick etc. I demo'd a Accra (the top of the line version, can't remember the line) with a Bridgestone J33P head. It was a fantastic combo. The Accra was the first shaft i've ever used that i honestly could say, made a BIG difference to distance, feel, control. I wonder how it compares to the Axiv V? Lastly, anyone know what the point of 370 and 420CC driver heads are when compared to 460CC heads? Thanks guys, i appreciate any/all the help. P.S. My name on here is just for a laugh. Always a good thing.
