  1. My friends wedge Ari made. Copper w/blue fill. One of the digger grinds. I've been taking this guy to twilight... really soft. I know its not a GF wedge, but this one feels really nice. BG shaft stiff D5. W/the perfect leading edge!!!
  2. Love the buttery feel of the 07 TMs R7 forgeds... I wonder if that cone thing in the burner forged iron will change the feel....
  3. They look like the TM Japan forged irons, just w/a badge in the cavity.
  4. Yea for me too the 901 goes higher and alittle farther. My only argument is the heel shots feel really bad compared to the Rs heels hits. At address the 701R looks better to me, but the 901 sits nicer, more firmly. Like B said, the 701Rs deep face is noticeable compared to the 901. It does make a difference in ball spin. If you struggle w/height I'd go w/the 901... That said the 701R is very workable high and low. Dispersion on the kaili rules all. If you miss left get the kaili. I play both drivers and the distance is difference minimal. If I had to choose one driver to keep it'd be the 701 as i like the look of the deeper face and shorter front to back look. But the 901 is indeed a very beautiful club, and I will always have one.
  5. I normally don't use a 3 wood. I only have 1 spoon its a 13.5 technity epon w/a Machline stiff shaft. Its really like a second driver, but IMO its harder to hit. For the past 3 years I haven't used a 3 wood. Instead, I've used bagged the 5 wood as a solid backup driver/all around FWY wood, including the weed whacker. It hasn't failed me. But lately i've been testing the new 13 and 13.5 and 15* woods. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the Cleveland HIbore xls FWY wood is awesome. I gained 15 yards immediately, over my existing epon spoon, w/the stock red shaft. Its in the bag and there to stay.
  6. 20+ rounds SS 108-110mph I've been pulling alttle higher numbers now that I get a good 18 in on my twilite days. Which puts my rounds of golf during the week to 4-6 rounds a week. Distance> longer than R9 TP Motre stiff. Longer than my titan 460. Shorter than all my 701 setups. Shorter than my 701G w/Tour AD EV. Shorter than my R9 460 9003 stiff. Around 260 in the air and a healthy 10-20 yards roll. @122mph I get a solid 295 (my spin goes up) in the air and roll 10-20 yards. Traj> low-med for me. Its gaurds the left very well and does not balloon one bit. Though the high shots are quite easy to hit. Feel: Exquisite. Extremely Controllable. Feels just as advertised = like a better Blue. I'm a type of player that relates feel to sound... that being said I really don't like the funky deep sounds of moi drivers... I prefer the persimmon muted type... I'll elaborate on the head feel below as it comes w/the sound also. Sound: Hit it around 120mph in the middle and my ears ring> high pitch snap just like the AF101 and the TS 445 and x drive 460GR 07 model. probably most of my shots sound alittle more solid than the epon titan 460, but alittle louder than the TS901. (I think its the deeper face) Forgivness: amazingly this driver/setup is very forgiving. IHMO its more forgiving than my titan and R9TP and may as well be second to the R9 460; which I hit all over the face and the ball manages to find the fairway at amazingly minimal distance loss. I'd say though the shaft area of the face does not feel quite as harsh as the other TS offerings, like the 901 and the 701s. Still feels kinda "good" or a "Ca Va" kinda feel, just not that crappy harsh heal hit that comes off as piece of crap that moves from left to right like a brick. (keep in mind I miss it hard to the left) <Specifcs: shots on the top half of the face toward the toe flew the farthest w/a nice 10-20 yard draw, these shots also had the lowest amount of spin 500-900 rpm less than shots struck on the bottom half of the face. Shots on the top half launched higher also by almost 1.5 degrees making it a medium ball flight that bores through the wind really nicely. Bottom half of the face is quite good also, not as long but very very capable and workable. (I usually hit the bottom half and reach 250 and the ball dies there) I do this by teeing it lower to fight the wind. It works for me as the ball flies much straighter w/a feeling of alittle more control over the traj though the ball flight does flight a bit higher in the end and land softer its distance loss makes up in control and accuracy.> Dispersion: very tight, feels tighter than my 9003, I've had very good results w/this driver, it is a rarity that I go way left w/this shaft, and my general tendency is to pull my right hand way over and get alittle quicker and shorter w/my transition. My other tendency is to shallow out and point the shaft above the ball on my downswing, "laid off" which delays that right hand and rushes the urgency to be very late. This often allows me to really whack it w/my right hand, but the intersting thing is on my 2/10 bad shots that usually block way right, they did not miss by a large margin like 20 yards block, I find my self in the first cut or 5 yards into the primary cut. It's the dispersion that really shines out on this setup. Very consistent. Overall conclusion:Feel and look alone make this driver the one to buy for me. At address none more pleasing to look at than this gem.. Reminds me of a supped up epon. This driver's performance is a result of what was put into it technology and TS design w/great materials and a shaft that matches perfectly. This one stands up to the best of TS's driver offerings. I've said it before and I'll stand by my opinion: Tourstage makes the best drivers hands down!!
  7. The definate benefit of having wedges w/no grooves is you will never shred balls. o_O
  8. Toe misses ooze forgiveness. Feedback is plentyfull so the feel is all there and you know where you hit it.. I expect half my shots to come up 5 - 10 yards short, but for some reason they go the distance of a sweetspot shot.
  9. Thanks T- always nice to see the little extras... love this stuff!
  10. M Sasaya's wedges are beautiful. That skull wedge was sold out before I even saw it go on sale. lol Owning a set of his wedges IMO says something about your style and overall golf interest. Not to mention his putters.... Awesome, If I had the money... yes I would!!!!
  11. you can view my swing on youtube from our TSG forum TSG Club Fitting Studio and Swing Academy, Thread name is Leadborad Results. T
  12. My new weapon=hit and can't miss. 9003 stiff 10.5 head set to 9.5 2* open I've been just nailing the fairways w/this setup, a very comfortable and forgiving setup. Avg drives have been really long for me, I'm a solid 20 yards longer w/this setup than any of my other drivers and in the past month of playing I've missed only a "hand full" of fairways which were not bad misses either. All my other drivers have been placed on the rack. TRAJ: the stock aldila shaft w/the setting at 2* open and 9.5 loft w/the 10.5 head would launch way too high, I was going higher than a 11* driver which I hit over 16* launch. I scored a 9003 tour ad shaft from a friend, and he had it installed for me. Once this shaft change was in place I noticed a 3* launch angle difference and around -700rpm. I've never had a driver launch this low this consistently, that is easy to turn over and get out there. (Diamana white can go low like this but the white is not as easy to get out there and turn over, this 9003 bores like a bullet through the wind) EXE. Past weekend I played in around 20 mph head wind and had a 296 yard drive that was low and boring. Drives w/the wind are just insane, I often find myself in uncharted territory known only by my friends that pull 120+ mph. Forgiveness: The Most FORGIVING setup I have ever had. It did take the shaft change for me to come to this conclusion as I think the 9003 is perfect for my swing. I play 12-18 rounds a month and this past month has been the best month of my life missing only about 8 fairways in all those rounds. Distance: Long very long. Aldlia shaft avg drive around 260 like a geyser. 9003 tour ad shaft avg drive 290+ like a freight train. Workablity: I didn't bother trying all the settings of the hosel, I did try the neutral, left and right setting. Traj was the difference, but mainly this driver head w/the 9003 is a very forgiving driver that goes straight. Working it lower is quite easy working it higher is alittle harder. But much easier to hit IMO than the diamana white. 9003: I feel like hitting driver all day long and I don't hesitate to pull the big dog out on that narrow 30 yard fwy. Love the shaft!! R9 head vs R460 head= the 460 sounds like a 460 solid TM driver the R9 sounds almost super quadish and alittle paperiee to me. Feel wise the 460 wins hands down.
  13. Thanks for sharing. This also concurs w/my thoughts of the Aftours... I'm glad others are looking at the AF Tour, cuz IMO its the most pleasing blade to look at, own and play. To me 90% of the choice is on look at address. None more pleasing to look at to me than the offset and topline of the nike vr blades, and the old MP14s. I also love the square toe look and I share an appreciation for no offset and smaller clean blades w/sharp toe lines which miuras achive. That said(aftour at first I also did not like the nike thingy), being completely unbiased and ignoring the look is quite hard to do; however, after impact.... the contact feel is just remarkable, the obvious feel and ball flight completely made up for the nontraditional look the AF tour has. It is this same pleasing feel I have felt in the AF301s, which no other brand has been able to replicate. My Taylormade R7 forged irons are a close second but in a completely different category in feel. Yeah I'm also waiting for others to post final reviews, as I have only had the chance to compare this to high end CBs but not that many blades. I'm glad others got to compare it to the TS901s that was good feedback. The black finish on the AF tours along w/black shafts would own. I'd love to see that.
  14. I've got mine back from brother. Playing them w/S400s, going on 2 months now. I don't know what to say... just a solid all around blade w/forgivess like an MP62. Best part about these clubs are they really move the ball and feel damed solid while doing it.
  15. bottom line is the guy upset... and "thinks" certain thoughts that make him come to the conclusion set forth... weather or not he is profiting off of his blog I don't know; either way, stepping on toes is never a really good thing to do. If I was drowning I'd call for help, not complain and call other swimmers cheaters; who will help then? "Management does not like people who complain and stir up a ruckus. We call these people instigators, and at times it is best to let them vent their necessities as it is just who they are..." taken from my boss spoken to me. I guess information is that valuable... even in the golf world we have data that causes a "rukus" lol
  16. Am I mistaken or is 8620 a liquid cast metal to start with? I always thought 8620 was a form of liquid alloy casted... And many companies for exe. adams, and cleveland claim to have thier heads "Form forged or soft forged or liquid forged" when really its just basic 8620 liquid cast, that ffeels really soft. I play 8620 wedges... some jdm 8620s and mainly the cleveland wedges from the US. they feel soft but they cannot compare to a ENDO forge ie. the KGX or the yamaha S10 knotch backed wedge from 07. Those solid S20 and S25 wedges are pretty damed sweet, though IMO honestly they don't feel anything like the 8620s. another example of difference in softness I've noticed is the Titleist wedges from JAPAN mainly the TVD is 8620 cast, but for some reason to me its way softer than the US spinmilled wedges... another is the Fourteen V2 and V3 both cast from what I understand and are remarkably soft. another example is the TS 901s they are not Forged, they are 8620 I believe, and feel like an 8620. Softest I've ever felt is the epon kgx and Miura wedges. (both forged one is Endo and Miura is Kyeoi I think)
  17. 10 rounds and 4 vector sessions. 9.5 Kaili 701R 45.25. Compared to my epon titan 460 w/rombax 7x07 stiff 1* open face pured/floed Address: Sweet, I think it comes close to the AF101 and looks almost identical to my forged titan. Only one that looked nicer is the 901 limited. Consistency/dispersion: better than my Epon 460 Ball flight: Similar to the Blue alittle lower (higher than white), very consistent straight/fade ball flight which bores through the wind very well. Id say its a mid launch controllable driver for me w/a good 5 yard fade. Ball spin: better than my epon = 2300-2500rpm Launch: better than my epon = 13.9* Feel=Epon wins but the 701R feels really good, nothing like the any of the xdrives w/shallow heads. This one kinda feels like an srixon driver w/a very solid sound a sweet crack like when you pure the af101. Shaft Feel= exquisite, feels so smooth way better than blue and white. I find the sweet spot almost every hit. Where as the white would be alittle harsh toward the kick and stiffer on my hands and I'd end up hitting it on the bottom half of the face which lead to a really low flight and a crappy feeling going to my second shot. This kaili kicks in very nicely and leaves me w/a good feeling like I want to hit the driver on all the holes. (only driver that has done this for me is the Titan w/rombax X) Sound= Very solid, very nice crack. Nothing like the loud moi drivers of today. Pure a srixon and thats what it sounds like. Length: I give it a B+ Its shorter than my 901 w/ev7. I get a consistent 270 which rolls to 280. 10 rounds and I'm happy w/the R. Its replaced my Epon 460 for the time being. I love the fact that this kaili shaft takes the left side out of play for me. T: I should have listened to you from the beginning and gone directly to this shaft. I have only hit a few that have gone left but that was from missing it. All well swung shots have placed me in the fairway very straight w/a predictable fade due to the open face and fade weighted biased head. The R really eliminates the left side for me and is very consistent to its distance. I've tried different balls on vector to see how much yardage I can get and I found that even w/the nike one plat I get a good 270 on "so so" hits. Srixon Z-UR ball goes over 290 for me w/this 701R setup. This driver is the one to buy for the little quicker swingers... swingers that do about 100mph will really not get that solid sound/feel... I hit shots around 102-105mph and the sound is different from when hitting it at 110. at 110 this baby really feels sweet and sounds like a bomb. It says low launch head but it gets up pretty quickly for me; positive on that is that it really bores through the wind. I honestly get better results on vector w/about 15 or so more yards w/the R9 TP aldila shaft, but this kaili shaft is really worth buying if you can get it over 105mph, man it feels good not to hook it. 701R and the 901 limited IMO are the only drivers that can IMO are in the same class as the AF101 and the epon 460 titan This one is firmly in my bag and I won't be selling this one.
  18. Yeah those are prob the sweetest vokeys I've ever seen.
  19. Soft=TM R7 Forged 07 model. Softest I've ever hit.
  20. Past two rounds have been pretty straight down the middle w/this guy and I couldn't be happier. The only thing I've managed to hit straighter is the Tour AD P9003. Answer to your q, so far. yes, its a Med launch driver that I haven't been able to hook. T, I think you were right... this is an excellent anti left shaft and it rolls a good amount. Looks: yep looks diff from the 901> to me it looks more like the epon 460s especially from the face view looks almost exactly like my titan 460. Dispersion is very good. Two rounds and vector puts this guy above any of my previous tests w/Xdrives. (I've managed to hit alot of left shots that hook but not uncontrollably w/all the TS drivers save the 901 w/rombax X and now this R is pretty solid as I haven't seen a left blinker yet.) I have stated before that I have a smoother swing and that diamana's where kinda harsh (I can say this because I own a ERC that went through a Diamana blue and now white.) W/the Blue shaft I often hit shots that would not roll out where the ball would get 3500-4000 rpm w/the ERC head. I swapped to the white and my launch angle went down immediately to 10* w/-2500rpm but I really had a hard time carrying stuff and w/the way the shaft felt, I had a harder time controlling the block often finding myself hooking or going way right. This kaili on the other hand is pretty smooth, feels a tad like the blue, and I think is the easiest Diamana to hit besides the red. So far for me its lasers to the 270yard marker w/constancy like my epon w/rombax x. On vector I get near identical results from my Epon 460 w/rombax X they are basically the same spec except the TS R is 45.25" and my epon is 44.5", and I get about 5 more yards of roll w/the TS R. I'm playing all 3 days this weekend and it will be tested throughly. Hopefully she stays straight. I'll be comparing this guy to my best and favorite driver going on 2.5 years the titan 460 w/rombax 7X07. I've basically hit every JDM and usdm driver on the market including Crews, epon, honma, syard, tm etc... So far the onlything that came close was the AF101 and a Long drive cobra 7* driver. Hopefully this R will turn out promising.
  21. Finally got um in. Pretty solid driver. Kaili 70 s and it comes w/a cool TS Multi C grip.
  22. It is hard for me to tell, since i got the NS950s in the r7s. the TS's had DG s200s. I can tell you that I always hit DGs better, so id say the GRs were just as if not, a touch more forgiving than the R7s. But I suck w/950s I mean really suck, I cannot control the shaft so I'm left w/massive dispersion. I'm gonna say that the R7s are softer than the TS's, I just gotta get the DGs in them. Here is an example of what I mean. I hit my Epon AFtours and they have DGs in them, and to me they are two times over more forgiving than the R7s w/NS950s. Just goes to show that I can only swing one way... and the shaft really makes a difference.
