  1. Take a look here http://www.nanopowergolf.com/dman.html
  2. I came across this brand while searching the web for driver heads. They make/sell both iron and wood heads, and what seems to be quite high spec premium MIJ shafts..I saw a pretty nice looking driver head, and was wondering if anybody here have any experience with Nano Power? Are they a maker in their own right or are they rebranding heads made by someone else, or do they design stuff and have the actual production outsourced?
  3. Yes, there it is. Not so cheap though at 640 dollars.
  4. The Legacy line in Europe? I thought it was Japan/Asia only. I have never seen any Legacy driver in Sweden, and a quick search on the big webshops in the UK and europe gave me zero Legacy Drivers.
  5. Yep, those look really clean, much better than the first photos. Maybe they were prototypes or something. But I hope you, or anyone, can see what I mean in the original pics?
  6. How about flight/spin/distance? Its not very forgiving by the look of it, but it looks really solid, hittable..
  7. I found on of these drivers the other day, in incredibly good condition, and at a very good price too. I didnt have any chance to try it, but it looks really good at adress and the stock shaft was a Fuji Rombax. Pretty serious looking shaft actually, but the price was so good that the head alone might be worth it, if its as good to hit as it looks.
  8. Aha! Weird I just put this in the WTB section a few days ago. I have tried once a few years ago, and fom what I remember it was very low spin, and had vey good feel to it. Thats why I thought it would suit me, the deep face looks great to me. I also saw last years (or even older?) X-drive 460 and that had a really deep face as well. I mean REALLY deep
  9. Would like to get one of these heads, the 701R version with the very deep face. I have never hit it, but feel like taking a chance on this one. Head only is preferable or might be interested in one with a decent shaft in SX or X.
  10. Yes, based on the photos here I mean. Take a look at the first and second last photo, just to the right of the "2" in 702, at the edge it looks like some serrated edge/tear at the edge of the cavity. Right where the dark grey metal meets the lighter coloured one. I know Epon is famous for their high standards when it comes to fit and finish, but for a person with no experience of JDM/Epon the finish of the irons in these photos is not good adverstising.
  11. The finish in the cavity of the iron looks totally bad! The lines between different shades/colours are illdefined, making it look like some sort of rejected example. Whats going on?
  12. Ok! Thanks for the info! Normally I would go straight for the 9, but looking down on these heads I started thinking I might get away with the 10..It may sound weird, but the lofts seem very true on these drivers, unlike some other cases where you could swear the loft is more than what is written on the head. I also usually get a pretty good idea and "feel" as to how a driver will perform by just looking down on it, I know, very unscientific and a bit weird. The thing is that I sometimes struggle with a sudden bout of big fade/slice and was thinking the 10 will give me a bit more antislice forgiveness and might still launch low spin..Always want it all hu? Ha ha Christian
  13. Hi I had a look at the Yamaha V.201 driver today, beautiful compact shape and by the look of it very low launch and low spin. I usually hit driver with too much spin an very little roll. I was looking at it today in 9 and 10 degrees, and was wondering if I could get away with a 10 degree head after all..? I usually hit it around 280 and almost only pure carry, and would go for the 9 immediately normally, but I got a bit unsure when I saw it in person. Is this a very low spin head, even in 10 degrees? I was thinking the 10 might be a touch more forgiving.
  14. I also noticed that the Axiv V is still for sale on TSG, so I guess its still selling? Maybe it has some sort of staying power then..Anyway, I really love it, Blue Canyon again on monday!
  15. Ok, thanks for the info about the Axiv V. Will check out some old posts for sure. I bought it on a whim and just got lucky I guess. The Black 50 seems like an Axiv V on steroids then? Sounds like the next "project" then..
  16. I went in to my local clubfitter here in Phuket yesterday, to check out the ever mysterious Superio shafts and other stuff..In the corner I saw a used Axiv V shaft, the Xstiff 7080..I asked the clubfitter about the price and he gave me a great deal, only around 100 dollars since I bought a Superio FW shaft as well, and because he said its actually very difficult to find someone able to use it? He said it CPMd close to 300 and he had it because a local pro tried it and "could not handle" the stiffness, hence it was used but in as new condition. I brought him my oldest driver head, a R510TP with 8.5 degrees of loft, I had a hunch it was going be a good fit with the Axiv V since I have always hit my driver way way to high and with almost no roll, and I envisioned this heavy stiff shaft with the TM head to be a heavy sledgehammer kind of driver, giving me not the best distance but a low straight flight. The total weight with a midsize grip turned out to be almost 340 grams at around 45.5 inches. Fact is, even when I hit a lower drive with what looks like a penetrating flight I still get no roll out..I mean sometimes I get to the ball and it has actually jumped back half a yard on a pure carry 270 yard shot..Weird, but Im used to it. Then today i played the Blue Canyon course here in Phuket with 7 other friends, and without ever hitting a shot with the "new" driver I hit a real bomb on the first tee around 290 yards, with a lowish super straight flight with excellent roll out! Yes! I went on to hit almost every fairway with the "sledgehammer", hit nothing longer than a 6 iron on the second shot into par 5s and scored a 78 wich is very good for me, especially at this course which is not easy at all. A few friends tried it, one with a 4 hcp and he couldnt hit it more than 230 yards or so, and couldnt get it up in the air at all. The Axiv V feels super smooth and stable, my swing is very short and "aggressive" and i like to really move through the ball hard and it was a perfect match..Made me think about a Crazy Black 50 as a future shaft to try..Can it be even better? I actually also bought the "controversial" Superio 36T FW shaft to fit in to my old 15 degree hawk eye titanium pro 4-wood...Yeah, I know, its ancient but I still hit it really really good, and even though I have tried many FW this is still the longest and it feels great. However, I have thought about a new 3-wood for a long time, and I have tried many many different 3-woods. But in the end I decided to just buy a new shaft for the oldie, as I was still playing the really not very good original, and ancient, Tour Stiff H65 shaft that is just too light. The Superio was an amazing upgrade, the shaft made me feel every nuance of the shot, vary "active" feeling, like it transfers to the hands what happens at impact so clearly. It feels really stiff, but somewhat softens up a bit during the swing, otherwise it feels like a very stiff and I chose Stiff flex because these shaft play very stiff to flex, I mean very very stiff. It feels at least as stiff as the Axiv V 7080 I have in the driver head. All I can say is that is an amazing feeling shaft that gave me at least another 20 yards with my 4-wood, with a stable soft fade all day. On the last hole I decided to tee off with it because its a very tigh hole but still pretty long, around 400 yards..I had around 120 left to the green..I was stunned and so were my playing partners. The Superio FW 36T only cost me around 170 dollars with a new midsize grip spined and fitted, and even if its a "fake" and not 36T and not MIJ (even though it says so on the shaft) I can very much recommend it. It feels like a quality shaft, and of course so does the Axiv V even though it might be considered a bit "last generation" by now?
  17. Nope, not for some people. Just knowing that something has been made the best posisble way, by people who actually get a decent, first world salary can make a big difference to some people..Especially when the price difference sometimes is not that huge, meaning that you and I know that the savings from producing in the socialist paradise that is China is NOT being passed on to the consumer..IF I could choose between 2 identical driver heads for example, and one was made in China and the other MIJ, and the MIJ was say 20-30 percent more expensive I would actually buy the MIJ head. And I think the whole system of sending know-how, technical expertise and transfering of technology to a communist state that is hellbent on copying and have no respect for intellectual property is insane, and very dangerous in the long run.
  18. Aha? That sound interesting then..Lets se what Gocchin finds out.
  19. I somehow doubt it...Mostly because it looks identical to the US/EU version. The VG3 is a different story, that driver is made especially for the the Japanese market, and looks like no other Titleist driver. What will differentiate the JDM 910 is of course the standard shafts on choice, you get genuine Ahina, Kaili and Attas T2 in japan, whereas in the US you get "made for" versions and the Aldila RIP..
  20. I game the Tour Issue 72X Kusala Black in a VEGA RAD-01 head. And this is the best shaft I have ever had for stability, plus it has a really smooth "elastic" (?) feel..I can get a bit slashy and "violent" with the driver, and together with the VEGA it usually ends up in a pretty ok spot anyway, something that I have never experienced before. But it really performs at its best when Im not trying to kill the ball, then it really kicks well with an almost automatic feel.
  21. Hi Do you still have the Idea pro Black with the Oban in Xflex?
  22. Hence these " " around the word won. As in "won"...Not meaning won, but "won"...
  23. Thank you, quite interesting. This test was conducted in Thailand, and since the Superio "won", I guess there are a ton of people convinced it is all a scam to bring respectability to that particular brand..Conspiracy theories will fly about for sure.
