  1. It was absolutely terrible officiating throughout the entire playoffs. The league will need to address this issue for sure. I'm still happy my team won but I agree.
  2. I'm checking into the TC club this year as well. I'm sticking with the blue/green monsters. It's going to be difficult to beat my 1150's, rtime will tell. How does Miura combo's with TC's sound?
  3. I've played a lot of top quality shafts and the Evolution is great regardless of the cost! I have it in my 905T and couldn't be happier. With your swing speed I might consider staying away from the 757 and consider the 652ex in X-flex, I have this shaft in my FT-3 and it's really nice. It plays stiff enough to go after it but not so stiff that you loose distance. My swing speed is very similar to yours. Play the Evolution in Stiff flex, not reg. That's just my opinion...
  4. I guess it's a golf club at the end of the day, but I still think the clear coat is soft.
  5. Is it me or do these shafts scratch way way to easy? I use Meguiar's Scratch X everytime I wash just to try and make them look decent again. What about automotive coatings or paint hardeners? I know they offer this type of service for cars (TST) but not sure if it would work for golf shafts.
  6. I use Scratch X and wax myself and it works perfectly for fine swirl marks on Black driver heads and graphite shafts (Speeders Tour Specs in particular). Does anyone notice that Speeders scratch extremely easy??
  7. Changing offset has it's own set of problems. I ordered and play a custom set of MP37's and had them done in the polished satin chrome finish and they look fantastic. You can choose where you would like to place the Mizuno stampings as well. I choose the solid "M" stamp and I think it looks much better than the stock outlined "M", very tour. I also choose burgandy paint fill and my initials, all of which turned out really nice. I say switch up the cosmetics a bit but leave the grinds and offset alone. I can understand goofing around with grinds/bounce on the wedges due to playing conditions and loft selections but I can't see much benefit to risking it with a $1200 set of irons unless you know exactly what the outcome will be. What happens if you reduce offset and the damn COG moves towards the toe or something like that???
  8. We truly are a nutty breed, think about it, we always talk about the cosmetic appeal of iron heads or the set-up of a driver head or the cool paint job on a $350 shaft. The reality is, Pro's hate to switch equipment for the exact reasons mentioned above. How long did Tiger play a steel rod in his driver before he reluctently switched to graphite? This is our hobby, that's why we buy a $500 driver then in one day think about tearing it apart and screwing it up with mods. You can't tell me that heating a head and removing the factory seal doesn't effect the overall playability of the club, seriously! If it wasn't for high quality club techs like Joe and Chip who probably do make it better we would muck it up every single time. Here's to us fellas, more more more...
  9. To the 1 stunner, I'm considering the FT-3 tour as a driver option but want a sweet shaft upgrade. How do you like your Diamana Ion in X-flex with this head. Can you give me insight to launch characteristics, thanks
  10. You can customize grips by sending them a PDF. Custom options and Msc. such as NFL, MLB and college teams already available. The grips are actually really nice and do well in the wet weather. I think they have two models, one with a taper and one without as much taper.
  11. I wanted to add a cool option to the show and indicate that I've been playing See Thru grips for a year now and they hold up like iron and do not play soft at all. I'm telling you, I origionally ordered them as a novelty to try on a putter and quickly realized that the playability was excellent. I now have them on my irons and everyone who feels them is shocked at how nice they are. I played in the Nationwide Pro-Am in Cleveland last summer and the Tour guys kept asking me to try them. It might have had something to do with my Custom Mizunos as well! These look super stylen and play even better. You can check them out at www.c-thrugrips.com...
  12. I can't locate anything in the forums, are you happy with the shaft? Thanks in advance...
  13. I agree with the previous quote, I like them all as well but always seem to end up back with my Byron or Gauge newport style. I think it comes down to your level of confidence and the type of greens you play. I live in the Midwest and play Bent grass geens that usually are laser fast so I have difficulty controling speed with Mallets and Moment putters. However, if you spend most of our time on slow Bermuda or Poa greens then the tendency is to leave Anser styles short. That's my two cents! High handicapers should stick with moments and keep it rolling ass over elbows...
  14. Has anyone had the chance to fiddle around with this concept shaft? It actually seems like a good idea assuming the shaft doesn't look foolish in the putter head. I'm thinking about installing in my Gauge just for something new to try but I guess the swingweight is 4 points higher, will this cause a problem as well?
  15. It is misleading to technically state that playing a driver shaft 1/2 inch short of the new "industry standard" will create a loss in distance. Actually, if you look in most tour pros bags you will find a driver that plays to 44.5 inches. Do they loss distance? The length of a driver shaft should be determined by a fitting just as you would the length, lie and loft of your irons. This will improve your overall fairways hit and lower your scores. Before you pull and tip this shaft I recommend finding out the bore depth of the driver you play then contact a guru and ask for advice. You may do more harm than good depending on a number of technical factors.
  16. I like the #5 too but does anyone feel that it seems a bit light?
  17. Sorry for the delay, out of town on business. In regards to the ball flight, as advertised initially the launch angle is a bit greater but it flattens out and ends up being very close but with greater distance. I clearly believe these shafts are longer than DG's ans much more supple. Again, if you like the 300's you will adjust to these no problem...
  18. I'm playing the 1150's in my new custom MP-37's and love them. I'm a three handicap and long time S300 guy. It takes a few minutes to adjust to the lighter feeling shaft but they win you over in the end. I was worried about this shaft selection when I dropped $1300 bucks on these irons but it didn't take long to realize these are superior. I'm playing the stiff flex and they are very similar to the DG's but much more consistant and plush. I'm not having any problems with ball flight either. This shaft is much tigher than the earlier models. If you like S300's you will love the 1150's! I played in the Nationwide tour Pro-Am in Cleveland and the Pro's showed a lot of interest in this shaft/iron combo...
