  1. Only someone old and nostalgic, like me, would be looking for a set of Srixon i-404 irons. I just loaned my back-up set of i-506s to a friend and he is hitting them so well, that I will never see them again. So, if you have an old set of right-handed 404s [3-pw or 4-pw], please let me know. Thanks, MM
  2. For Sale: SOLD. Thanks. Srixon Japan only I-404 irons 3-pw in excellent condition recently purchased from a TSG member. I shafted the 404s with Aerotech Steel Fiber stiff shafts. Specs: standard loft and lie, 38.25 inch 5 iron, Lamkin green Dual Density grips. I've hit or played Srixon 201s, 302s, and 506s and the 404s are just a better feeling head. I believe that Tim Clark is still playing the 404s. The Steel Fiber shafts[95 grams and $41 each] perform for me like PX shafts but with a better kick through impact.
  3. I agree with Dave on this answer...Srixon I-404s.
  4. Still looking...anyone have a set with standard rifle 6.0 or Nippons?
  5. Looking for a set of RH Z-101s 3-pw that may have been 'demoted' to your garage. I need a back-up set of irons...don't have to be in the best condition. Prefer an older set that won't cost too much. Let me know if you have a set/shaft and price. Thanks. MM
  6. For members who have experience with Nippon 950 iron shafts... I currently play Nippon 1050 S shafts in my gap and sand wedges. They offer the best combination of excellent dispersion and feel of any shaft that I've played. I'm thinking of installing Nippon shafts in a set of TM 300 Lehmans. The bore depth on the Lehmans is deeper than standard TM irons. I also play my irons 1/4 inch over standard...38.25 5 iron. Can a member tell me the approximate frequency of a 950 R hardstepped 2X? Would the 950 R hardstepped 2X be a better choice than the 1050 S? I have found that 5.2 is a very good frequency range for me in my irons. I have a driver SS of 103 and hit my 7 iron about 150 and have a relatively high ball flight. Thanks.
  7. Wondering if any of the Japan golf equipment companies offer a white stand bag with black lettering? I have seen the Titleist CBS51 in silver with black accents. That's the closest I've seen to white, though. Thanks.
  8. Had my 33s stolen and have been experimenting with other sets but want to return to what I have played for many years. WTB MP-33s with standard rifle 5.5 shafts. Half inch over standard and 2 degrees up would be ideal but I will consider standard length. I will be glad to Paypal or send MO. Please PM or send email to [email protected] Thanks.

  12. Jamesons, I played MP-33s for about 4 years. In my opinion there is no forging as soft as a Mizuno MP-33. I currently play TM tour issue satin RAC cb/mbs...the combo set is not quite as soft but is slightly more forgiving. I have TT TC shafts in the TM set and had standard Rifles in the MP-33s. I have found no appreciable difference in distance , ball flight or ability to work the ball between the two sets. I just wanted to experiment a little, too. I hit the MP-32s at a demo day and found them to be more forgiving for my typical misses than the 33s. I also like that the blade seems a little shorter from heel to toe and the tip line is a little thicker. I hit the 32 side by side with the Callaway X-Tours and liked the Mizunos much better. I would hit both the 32s and TM cbs before buying. MM
  13. aflac, Thanks for posting pictures. I live in Raleigh and have had Carolina Golf do several TM fw refinishes. They do excellent work. My J340 also needs a refinish and after seeing yours...I will be taking mine down to Carolina Golf for the same job. The reason I haven't done it so far is that I hate to take it out of the bag! The J340 with Fuji SIX is the best driver I've played...longer, better trajectory, solid sound that is not 'tinny'... I'm not remotely interested in a 460cc head even with all the good feedback people have been leaving...since I found the J340. One question...did the sw change after the refinish? MM
  14. I also play a Fuji SIX X in my J340 and am not ready to give up the extra distance that I've gained...even though I do hit an occassional left shot with it. Those who have tried the ZCOM 54 say that it offers the same distance of the SIX but is tighter in dispersion and plays like a heavier shaft. It might be worth a try. MM
