  1. 5 iron is 38", standard lie. I beleive the MB-2 were forged by Kyeoi. Chris might know. Don't know difference with MB-3 since have seen them before.
  2. These have had very limited play. No real bag chatter either. They need a real home!
  3. Gauge Design MB-2's 3-PW, Nippon 1150 Stiff shafts, Golf Pride cord tour wraps, excellent condition. A classic Japanese forged set of irons. The quality and craftsmanship are second to none with as solid feel as any iron I've played (including Miura and Mizuno), but I'm recovering from back surgery and these irons need an owner who can use and appreciate them. $600 + $25 shipping CONUS, OBO.
  4. Thread was not yanked, but move to another forum and closed. History of discussion is still there.
  5. Corky3, there were some Miura forged Cleveland 588's made in 2007 that were great. Very typical Miura solid feel, but 588 grinds. Much different that what is typically seen in US with Cleveland.
  6. I'll have to see if any of your wincs make it to my part of the world. Love a good cab. As you adjust to new grooves and softer balls in the next few years, check out instruction info from one of your countryman, Peter Croker. He taught me some neat short shots back in the mid-90s. The man had great control of both his wedge face and the angle of attack. Produced a high, soft lob, but with an aggressive motion.
  7. Vineman, Good questions and two reasons on my side for getting 2010 conforming grooves. First, I'm a former professional and had planned to play this year in a few events that require conforming grooves. That was before back surgery earlier this week, ouch! Still hopeful in completing later in year. Second, is that despite much practice, I am not as consistent with pitch and lob shots with newer, grabbier U shaped grooves. Growing up I was taught to use the clubface and trajectory to produce shots, feeling the ball roll up the face more and landing shots to either run out or be ultra soft ('like a butterfly with sore feet'). With today's wedges the grooves grab sooner and produce a flatter trajectory. As much as I've practiced, I cannot get as consistent of results in launch angle and spin rate as I used to with older wedges. I even practiced last year with a 40+ year old wedge to get my confidence back. I've lost those 'go to' shots I grew up with around the greens. I look forward to conforming grooves and softer balls (try to play the softest), because I'll be able to start playing the shots I grew up with again. Simple as that. Hope that explains my reasons. btw - nice occupation vineman23...what part of Australia are you in? love some of cab blends I've had.
  8. Can I customize shafts (Nippon or KBS wedge shafts with Iomic grips) or should I just take stock and reshaft on my side? Thank you,
  9. Chris, PM sent last night of what I'm leaning towards if you can accommodate. I would like to see topline photos of actual lofts of PRGR TR (58/52) before I buy. Thank you and everyone else for many excellent suggestions.
  10. Are the grooves the new conforming v grooves? I have a few tournaments this year where I need them.
  11. I agree, the rounder grind probably gives it that look on the ONOFF. Had a 52* like that once before and could never adjust. The PRGR TR just look straighter, although I've not seen the 52 & 58 yet. I learned a long time ago not to fight what looks good at address. In the heat of competition I need to clubs to feel very comfortable and frame the balls well. That said, the ONOFF are a great looking set, just not for me.
  12. Thanks Vineman. I found an topline photo of the ONOFF 52 today online and it looked like more offset than my preference. It is more rounded than the PRGR TR, but I actually like the PRGR shape. Good flow with my MP-68's. Thanks again for the information.
  13. Chris, When are the ONOFF and EPON's available. I really do like the grind on the PRGR, but the photos are of 56/60 and I play 52/58. Any chance I can see photos of those two lofts from above (topline view). If they look good, can I get them shafted in either a Nippon or KBS wedge shaft with Iomic grips. You were right about my Miura 588's. A very nice, solid feeling and versatile set of wedges. The '06 Tourstage 58 was a good wedge, but the 52 grind was too 'onset' for me. I prefer a straighter neck. They were not nearly as solid as the Scratch's I bought from you in '05 or the Miura's in '06. As you can see I haven't bought new wedges in three years and very overdo! Just had back surgery Monday and the doctot said I can begin putting in 4 weeks, chipping in 6 weeks. That's my target time frame to have a new set here. It's keeping me focused on getting well. Thanks,
  14. Can you at least hint in terms of grind to last years? I thought the 208KGX grind was nice looking, but also too mid-sized, teardrop shaped and needed more heel and toe relief. Did they change it much in overall shape/grind? I'm leaning toward the PRGR TR for the clean, compact look, good trailing and heel relief and also flows well with my iron set.
  15. Wow, those are great looking irons. Who forges them? Almost wish I hadn't just bought a new set of Mizuno's.
