plus1
Just wonderingguys has anyone ever tried these HiroMatsumoto irons? They have been out for a number of years now, seem to be expensive.......but are they worth it? If anyone has tried them can i ask..... - are they super soft or firm? - how forgiving are they? - is there much offset and what would be comparitable? - ARE THEY AS PRETTY IN PERSON AS IN THE PICS? lol Thanks Bj

The feel is Miuraish, not so soft yet not hard. They have very minimal offset and the profile is short heel to toe. has a stubby style to it. Very player, Horny Juan and I both had them, I think we are the only posters who purchased these irons.

The irons themselves look prettier than the picture. Since it came with the 'real' speeder shaft, it was very expensive like 250,000 yen for set of 8 which was approximately USD2,300 at the time. It is not the most forgiving of irons but rather than blade like cavity. I have a problem loading this particular Speeder even in R flex. The Epon is new and while I still own the Matsu, I am playing mainly with the Miura with NSP 850. Both the Miura and Matsu ate pieces of art. rit
Hi, I bought a used set. in nippon steel last year. I paid $1,000 US for them. They are quite forgiving especially the long irons. The feel is not super soft, it is crisp when you hit the sweet spot, the sound is very pleasing. The look is stunning, if I compare to a car, it is more like a Porsche than a Ferrari. It is easy to handle, yet has all the look and power you need. The most I like about it is that these irons have true loft (ie, PW is 48 degree), which make it easy to match to a good set of wedge. The new one is quite expensive though, and a used set is very hard to find. Anyway I love them and I think they will be in my bag for quite a while. Regards, Rit
