  1. claus, emb is a little shallower than the forged 460. albeit slightly. as for the forging, its entirely done in japan while the finishing process such as polishing is done in the thailand plant
  2. i have had and played the sumo, sasquatch sq1. this is in a different league. this could be attributable to the head and shaft combo i tried. with the nikes ive had they were shafted with tour ad w60r which i found too soft and shot dispersion was pretty decent but much wider than the emb. with the emb ball flight was mid to high but was on the highish side. this could be attributable to the shaft i tried since it was a sub 60g shaft. shot dispersion was very tight and controlled. like i said it was as straight and predictable as my 4wood pt8 combo. diseprsion was as tight as ive seen with any driver ive tried. others were also surprised with how straight this thing was. was already very satisifed with the performance, imagine how it would perform if i had a shaft more suitable to me?
  3. guys i have had the chance to try out the new emb driver shafted with axiv x shaft. let me just say that this is one of the easiest things to hit. it really is a straight shooter with actually more distance gained compared to my older 460 deep face. this may be attributable to the fact that the emb has a shallower face and i am hitting it much much better. i was slicing a lot less with this driver. no matter what i did for as long as my swing was relativelyt in sync the ball would just sail in a straight direction. dispersion was very tight and consistent. almost like my venereable 4 wood. shaft is no slouch either i think it was an axiv x forget which model. although specs were sx the shaft played much softer than i imagined them to be. may consider this shaft option for this high moi head. initial comments and user feedback is very positive. one thing that needs getting used to is the shape. it certainly is non-traditional and quite radical. but i guess this serves a purpose and maximizes the performance of the head. on address it is really awkward on the eye but i can see myself getting used to this in no time. its also noisy. a high pitched muffled sound almost like a suppressed .22cal being fired. not overly crazy though like the sumo. overall i think this could be THE ONE for epon. i know im ordering one soon.
  4. i am the same way. i guess there are some who like the insert feel and others who dont. luckily for me the i can also make do with the stock face
  5. i agree with idrive. i have a multitude of epon irons all shafted with all sort of shafts: nspro 950, 1050, 1150, tc r3 even project x 6.0 but my favorite is the black golds. it is not harsh at all and imho mates well with the epon heads. the shafts are so lively. do give them a try if you get the chance
  6. here ya go hope my review helps http://forum.tourspecgolf.com/index.php?showtopic=25077
  7. R, the epon fairway woods i got were 65grams regular. thats what it came with. also 2 of my gfields bougt worlds apart came stcok with 67 gram shafts. i agree with you though that the head weight plays an important role in overall balance. i also beleive that a key understanding of your swing and working with an experienced clubfitter can contribute to a very tailor fit club that is uniquely yours. ive tried FW shafts that weighed the same as my driver shafts and dint like the feeling so much. the increase in weight certainly helped keep my swing in check. cant give a more detailed explanation but it works for me.
  8. rule of thumb for me at least is to get something 10-15 grams heavier on my fairway wood shafts. my preference for a driver is around 65-70grams so my fw shafts should be about 75-80 grams. heavier shafts also tend to control and keep my swing more in sync. good luck
  9. care to enlighten me? diamana is the only major jdm shaft i havent tried. have used axivs, roddios, oziks, fujis etc etc at one point in time..
  10. thanks for the pic. seems there are too many models i am having a hard time keeping track. im yet to try any diamana shaft and from the looks of things il be curious enough to try one. i have yet to find a shaft that can knock out the gd tour ad series line
  11. that is always great to hear! looking forward to the final pics of your masterpiece

  13. 57 is now up for sale will put it up in the bst by the end of the week
  14. got many. usually my stuff is sold to fund my next purchase only to find out that the stuff i sold was much better. example would be my maruman shuttle 3 wood and my mizuno mx23s. have also sold tons of shafts and putters for a song and reflecting on it now makes me cringe. as much as i hate doing it i have to in order to fuel my desire to dabble and experiment with newer jdm gear.
  15. i like the look very much. so simple and clean. lung-chia how is your heavy blinker treating you? i dint push through with my order. having great results with an alternative putter
  16. this should make it more interesting:) is this a prgr spinoff or is cool design the brand? im confused
  17. Its an aluinser insert. it makes impact softer. some people like it others dont. having tried the premium zone inserts i can say its not for me as i like a more crisp feel at impact.
  18. glad you enjoy the site. as for the putter it depends on what you want done with the putter. if its a regular private stock putter should take no longer than a two weeks if you want to customize it will take more time as sasaya san build these himself. Pm tourspecgolfer for more details
  19. can anyone enlighten me, what is the diff with this miuraism blade and the regular miura blades?
  20. T is a wellspring of JDM knowledge. thanks guys i am just beginning to learn and understand the wonderful world of jdm
  21. R you hit the nail on the head, perfect explanation. you are correct the axiv is in the 70-80 gram range its the 758m while the macline 501 is in the 50-60 range.
  22. i am not really too keen on the bright colored paintfil but am really intrigued about this wedge, especially since they have a type d version. would love some feedback from tsgers that have had time with this new wedge. thanks
