  1. that xblade 3 iron looks mighty interesting. can someone explain the advantage of that screw?
  2. WOW! this says alot about the X-ut. glad you are having great success iwth this club. i loved mine as well but couldnt get used to the shape. other than that its a fantastic and stellar performer.
  3. C, how much of a lack of distance are we talking about? id be willing to sacrifice some yards in order to get straight consistency.
  4. droopy pm me wht lofts your looking at. i may be able to help you. thanks
  5. Guys im looking for a GD quattro 85s or 75s pull but would prefer a 75s. or i can trade with a axiv 8076. this would be going in my epon 15* 3 wood. the axiv is way too much for me. thanks in advance
  6. wow this is a monumental task, hope you guys get to accomplish all that. with chris offering to help source the irons and set up the demo at the specific location, all we need are some guys to be the guinea pigs. i would volunteer but im a world awaya nd my swing is still under repair. good luck guys looking forward to this one
  7. that is impressive indeed. wjere is the stork and eagle plant located? is this the one in thailand?
  8. this is a timely thread was wondering the same thing as i have purchased a pulled UT85s from a adams hybrid 18* i was going to put it on my #2 18* gft but it was shorter than the stock shaft but exactly the same length as my 20* gft #3 so i placed it there instead. was wondering what the ideal shaft lengths of an 18* is as i have been getting different measurements from diff manufacturers and if the corresponding lengths get shorter by .5" as i progress down to 20*, 22*.....24*? thanks
  9. i have tried the xut, Rcs ,gft and some on jdm like cobra, titty, ping, etc etc. for me one of the ost important aspects of any utility is the way it addresses and the way it catches my eye. most of the ones ive tried looked so awkward and unappealing. my vote has to go with the gft. not only is it the cleanest looking but its shape is downright awesome. inspires confidence in me so ive opted for this and have never regretted it. these have been the only constants in my bag since ive decided to go jdm. give it a shot
  10. ive been looking for one for quite some time now and havent had any luck. justin, do post a review if you decide to get it im curious as to how it performs.
  11. they are the same club except for the stampings. they look identical and only very minute differences only seen using a digi calioer
  12. there is indeed a black golds for the japan market but as to the specs differing from the us black golds i have no idea. lets wait for other members to chime in as i am curious as well. i have the black golds us and japanese version on my epons and as far as looks wise and feel they are exactly the same.
  13. dude be careful what you wish for as you could find a one sitting in your doorstep for testing lol. anyway thats what i was thinking, the shape is certainly radical and for some may be a bit too much but epon has extensive technologies and testing facilities to come up with a putter. when they do which they have apparently done so makes me think that this putter will be loaded with epon know how. i know id certainly want to get my hands on one too.
  14. actually havent had the time to test the newly shafted w60 shaft.. for my Fws i actually had tried 65 g shafts but i was all over the place, with these 80 gram shafts i like the consistency i am getting as my swing is kept under control. with regards to a left-right ball i wasnt getting this with my previous machline f65s shaft.
  15. dont worry about the irons holding up. i have abused my type x irons for almost 3 months and have played one of the most hospitable driving ranges possible and have tasted all types of golf balls and they are holding up fine. also ive leant these to so many people and the only signs of wear are the inevitable bag chatter. regarding beat up clubs, my dad used to tel me never bet with a guy who has a beat up mis matched old set with lead tape attached to the heads
  16. yupyup. not to mention the af701 doesnt have a forged face like the type x which would explain the more metallic sound at impact. to date the 701s are one of the most forgiving irons ive tried id say they felt similar to my mx23s.
  17. nope unfortunately not. but i have drawn 3 xs on them with a magical blue sharpie so im getting only 5 extra yards. your Doraemon trumps my xxx:)
  18. guys i just recently acquired a pt8s shaft and its currently on a 16* gfield head. thanks Alpha_pro! anyway i have about 3 full rounds with this shaft and am loving it except for the ballflight i am getting. users chracterize this shaft as having a mid penetrating ball flight, i am getting the exact opposite and am getting adverse balloning more so than softer flexed shafts i have used. ball is consistenly straight and carry is amazing yet the ball has virtually zero roll. i have also compared this to my newly shafted epon 15* with axiv 8076 shaft. with the axiv i am consistenly getting a mid-penetrating ball flight which i like except that it is always left to right. distance wise i im getting 15 yards more with the axiv but that could be attributed to the head more than the shaft. feel wise i like the way the pt8 loads up im just perplexed about the balloning effects. loosing serious distance and potential roll. according to most of the comments ive read is that the pt8 has a different bend profile and blader-x even mentioned that he felt an L bend profile as the shaft loaded up. they also say that this shaft is not suitable for people with a steep angle of attack which i unfortunately do. so im thinking if the quattro would suit me more than say the axiv and pt8. also i know my swing is the culprit and i am actually working on flattening my swing but for the meantime im keeping my shaft options open. thanks in advance.
  19. T, i agree with your post. however i find the type x to have the better overall profile. the type x also seems smaller than the af701. one thing i also immediately noticed is that the x has a more muted subtle feel compared to the 701 which i hoenstly find more clicky. when i say clicky i dont mean this in a bad way but i can certainly notice a difference. also imho could just be me but the type x seems a tad softer but this may be influenced by the intitial sound at impact. overall though i find the af701 to be more forgiving especially in the longer irons compared to the x. both though are great irons and the 701 could certainly be the ulitimate game improving irons out there. they are that easy to hit and has a more modern look comapred to the more traditional type x.
  20. Claus, you can do this and build your own combo. i built a set consisting of af701 4,5, af501 6,7,8 and af301 9, pw. key is understanding your game and what works best for you. in your case you obviously do so your combo 501,301 will be the ideal choice and best of both worlds
  21. been usig the altus newing for about 2 rounds. cant discern any notable differences with the bridgesteon p series i normally use. but thats just me. can get the altus for a steal so i will most likely use this ball till i find a bargain. maybe when my game improves i can really start investing in premium balls.
  22. b, looks good. looks pretty classy. nice job. props to epon and chris for getting this done nicely
  23. this will defintely be worth the wait! if epon is delaying its release by tweaking it some more then its a very good sign of good things to come.
  24. il wait for a couple of guys to give feedback before i decide to unload. anyway il most likely shell out on a decent rangefinder before getting this one.
  25. that was quick! i want one as well been spending a lot of time in the range would be a treat to get actual feedback on how im swinging on a partiuclar day of the week etc.
