Thanks to all for the kind words. I'm thinking of sticking with this line up for awhile. Now just looking at upgrading the steel shafts in my Mizuno's.

Project X and Project X HL
Akin to an earlier question on another thread, does the 6.0 play to a DGS300 or softer than that? Also, does anyone have any reviews on either or both types? I'm looking to upgrade my Nippons to one of these, and I'm leaning towards the HL's due to its lighter weight. They only come with 5.0 and 6.0 (nothing in between), and the former has a 5.5. I used to have Dynamic Gold Superlites S300 as the original shafts in the Mizzy's, which I could hit comfortably, and I don't have a very high ss (around 90 mph on the six iron, smooth tempo). Thoughts and suggestions are welcome. Mahalo in advance. Dave

Taylormade Japan Only Burner Irons w/PICS!
TM is trying a different color scheme with the maroon? No doubt to promote the Burner series, just like how they touched on the r7 irons, but not to this extreme. Looks like a set the creature from "Alien" would use.

Thanks. I just may go with this recommendation. I hear that the Royal Collection FW's are terrific also.

To me, it is like night and day. The GFT is very easy to hit, and I can now reach par 5's in two, or get very close to the green. Just yesterday, I nearly reached one that was 545 yds into a 15 mph wind (believe me, I'm not a long hitter by any sense). Normally, I'd just lay up and have a PW into the green. I can honestly say that the feel, weight, appearance is worlds apart from the Epon 3 wood. I know that many people here will say otherwise, but to each their own. What works for one person (or more) may not work for others. My problem now is that I don't know what to do with my 17* hybrid, since it's only one degree higher than the GFT. I may need to get an 18* hybrid instead. I'll knock on Mizuno's door to see what they have. I just finished paintfilling the Epon copper wedges with white. White against a copper background REALLY stands out!

Quite honestly, I really don't believe that a putter will suddenly make you sink more putts. I do however, believe that feel is a very important part. This putter has a terrific feel to it, and although I haven't noticed a decrease in the number of putts, I do see that I'm getting closer to making my share since I'm able to "feel" the line and distance more. Aesthetically, it's a beautiful putter and I can see this being in the bag for long time.

Mallet head putters
I, like some of you, prefer the mallet head versions. I've used the traditional "anser" style for many years, but felt more comfortable with the mallets. That being said, what's your favorite mallet head putter? I've seen reviews on the G-Field by Spoon, so please share your thoughts. Btw, I'm in the market for a new putter, so I need some recommendations (and where to get 'em!). Thanks in advance!

Epon staff/stand bags?
Wow, that color will burn a hole in your retinas. Thanks for the pic though. Hard to find indeed, even on the internet.

Epon staff/stand bags?
I've never seen one...perhaps because they don't make 'em?

Paint Filling
Ok, I'm sure everyone knows the standard black OEM paint. I removed it by coating it several times with acetone. This is my first attempt at this. Not bad, but I'll probably redo it since I've discovered an easier way to apply the paint and clear coat in a more even consistency. Let me know what you guys think. The color is Ultra Blue. Don't mind the condition, as I've yet to clean it up more. As you can see by the darn hair strands on the bathroom mat, I need to do some vacuuming too.

Paint Filling
I'm really taking my time on this, as I don't want to mess it up (as you said). I've already stripped the OEM paint off by applying generous coats of acetone and letting it soak for a few minutes. The paint comes right off, and now I have a beautiful, clean clubhead. One the metal primer dries (which wasn't in anyone's suggestion - I just figured it would be better), I'll apply the grabber blue paint via a toothpick. After that, it's clear-coat time with the enamel nail polish. We'll see how it turns out. The MP 32's should stand out if all goes well. Wish me luck...

Paint Filling
I've seen similar threads on the other site, so I'm thinking of trying this. Doesn't sound difficult at all. Let me see if I have my info straight: Acetone or nail polish remover - To remove OEM paintfill, if desired. Do not allow these solutions to get in contact with ferrules, as they will melt Acrylic or model paint for desired color to use. Nail polish also ok. Clear nail polish to seal. Allow to dry a few hours. Once dried, use np remover or acetone (a small amount dabbed on a towel) to rub excess off the area surrounding the paint fill. Does this sound right? The possibilities seem endless...

Ah, ok. Thank you for the lesson. I feel much more edumacated (sic) now. :)

Wedges with "grind"
Ok, I just need some info here... I've seen many pictures of wedges that belong to members here that have "grind" in them. Other than the obvious weight removal and perhaps balance aspects, what would be the sole (no pun intended) reason for one to grind the bottom of a wedge? Thanks for the explanation. I'll be a better person after I hear from you! :) Dave

FW shaft question
Is it ok to purchase a "driver" shaft such as those listed in the Pro Shop for a 3 wood or similar, or is there another area that specifies for FW shafts only? If it's ok to buy a driver shaft, once cut and shortened to specified/desired length, wouldn't it affect the performace or the original specs (stiff = stiffer, etc.)?

Initial thoughts on the Epon 460, stock Drev Tour
idrive/ajay, thanks for the 411. I'll order a 15* today. This was very good info. I'll order it with the PT-6 shaft.

Initial thoughts on the Epon 460, stock Drev Tour
Yes, I was thinking about this the other day. Do you know if they sell an Epon hybrid, or do the other FW woods (not including the 3 wood) are the traditional shaped heads? Lastly, what length is the stock Drev Tour shaft? 46'? Thanks again for the club. Very solid stuff.

Sounds great. Give us your review on it when you get a chance. I'll do the same once my JPX E500 comes in.

Did you order them with the OEM shafts? I want to know how you like them, as I've noticed that your ss and other specs are similar to mine when you posted in the golf shaft academy threads.

Initial thoughts on the Epon 460, stock Drev Tour
Holy Cr*p! This is the hottest face of any driver I've owned or tried. What everyone's been saying on this forum is 100% accurate. Now, I don't feel the need to switch out the shaft, as the Drev Tour works PERFECTLY. Zero slice, mostly straight, able to draw if needed. The .5 closed face is barely noticeable (you can't really tell, anyway from address). I can honestly say I will not need to buy another driver...for now ;). Seriously, this will be in the bag for a LOOOONG time. I'll be selling the Axiv shaft I bought from the Pro Shop soon. I haven't even pulled it out of the plastic sheath yet. Ajay, thanks again. I'm very impressed. Now I need to shell out some serious dough for the 13.5 FW. Hope this review was helpful. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Mizuno JPX E500 Driver
I guess no one seems to have this yet. Anyway, I managed to get ahold of one, so I'll post a report on it (stock Quad shaft, stiff flex), if anyone's interested in hearing how it performs. Thanks!
