Kyoei Zestaim Dual Forged Cavity
Oh Boy, here comes some high tech and high quality Irons!! I just sold my Zestaim Fi-2 MB a couple of weeks ago....Sad. Now here comes the Zestaim Dual Forged Cavity one piece CNC milled...Glad! The whole Zestaim line is nothing but quality in finish and feel. It seems that Kyoei is stepping up the pace of its designs. They have always had the quality. Now the engineering they are coupling with their quality means that serious Ho's will have to try this beauty. I'm all in.......!!!

Taylormade Burner Forged review.
Thanks, 18th, for all the work in posting this comparative info. I printed it out to show my guys who are quibbling about JDM offsets vs USDM offsets that the JDM gear is much closer to a Players club than they think. 3.9 Progressive Offset is not too upsetting to the eye, especially when you are addressing the ball and your chart clearly shows this. Now maybe I can put up my bottle of Rolaids and get more of my better customers to look harder at the JDM offerings. Those who have taken my advice are pounding their chest at the results of the 08/09 Forged Burner.

Taylormade Burner Forged review.
I just want to throw my penny in the pot about the Burner Forged Irons. Several sets have come through the Shop for fine tuning and am very impressed with the design, fit and finish of these Irons. They are well balanced and the weight progression is right on the money from 3 to PW. One customer let hit his Burners after they were finished and I gotta' tell you, they are smooth and very long. He had me fit his set with the KBS Tour and this combination with the Burner made a precision set of shot making lasers. Sometimes something comes along that just work and the Burner Forged Irons certainly fit that category. Winners!!

Epon AF 302 - AF 502
Impressive Factory to say the least. Its hoped that Epon can keep the folks inside that Factory busy all year, especially when you consider the recent changes they made to their Distribution Policies on their Golf Equipment.

What shaft is better than a MD6?
Yep, the Graphite Design Tour AD Quattro P9003. A well kept secret for sure.

Epon Golf's New Sales Policy
Epon is telling us, with their higher price intentions on existing models, that the new 302 and 502 models for 2010 probably won't measure up to the older model UNLESS they are planning a sequel to Dumb and Dumber.

Fade biased driver
A Fade Biased Driver has the Fade built into the face insert. The usual "Bulge and Roll" is altered to flow off downwards and out to the toe of the head. With a Fade Biased head, when the head is delivered square to the ball, a very slight side spin or slip is put on the ball. The ball will take off right down the line but the slight spin will make the ball fall off to the right after reaching the apex. Its a $$$$ shot to have a drop fade in the bag. More big numbers/scores occur on the left side of a golf course than the right side. Hard/fast swingers are always looking for a 1* Open face or a Fade Bias to take as much of the left side out of play as possible and still control the ball without changing their swing. Just aim down the left center of the fairway and let it fly with your PRGR 501 Driver and you might find yourself standing dead center on the sprinkler heads a lot. Down the middle.

matrix ozik f7m2 low tip def
Ozik F7M2 has a Torque of 3.4 while the Motore F1 4.0 the Torque is over 5.2. Otherwise, the PRINTED Shaft profiles are very close to each other. The tighter Torque numbers in the Ozik means a more narrow dispersion pattern.

Epon Golf's New Sales Policy
The idea that "Club Fitting" by Specialists will enhance a Brand's image and sales is foolish. It has failed world wide with the exception of maybe Japan (i.e. Miura, whose "sales" are just petty cash to most OEM's). And, Miura North America just sells Clubs not Fitting...any clue's yet Epon? Epon is an outstanding Golf Club Engineering and Manufacturing Company but no one has ever said they were smart. In my Corporate life, I have witnessed many attempts to control a marketplace with Specialized Marketing, Controlled Territories, Price Controls, etc. They all failed miserably and the people that implemented those Marketing Policies were all terminated. Epon's good intentions to control their Brand will now be blurred even more thru the underground world of Auction Sites. So sad and when they had a "quality" Company like TourSpecGolf to market their Brand world wide and help maintain the integrity of the name. Epon owes TSG a lot of money for the excellent Marketing and Distribution that they provided AND TSG honored all of Epon's requests for launch dates, etc while all the others "leaked" Epon's offerings everywhere. To top it all off....Golf Equipment Sales are in the toilet and now this, Wow!! Good Luck Epon, I wish you well but sooner than later, you will be hiring a Marketing firm (for big $$$, Yen) to come in a help you find your way out of the Commerce Jungle you will find yourself in.

golf superstitions
For me its the Hex of the "Red" Wood Tee. I've jacked more tee shots from a Red Tee than any other color. Ha! I throw them away whenever I see one for fear that they might contaminate the rest of the Tees in the Bag. Tongue in cheek, of course.

New Sky Dream Jump CF I Forged and Milled CB
One piece of metal with a milled out undercut cavity back made into a small Iron head. Wow !! Very thin top line...these babies have got to have a very solid feel with a workable ball flight. A ball strikers dream sitting right there in those pictures. The CD design disk in a CNC machine can mean only one thing... a very consistent milling job and precise control of the head design, so if the design is good (and it does look good to me) out comes a very successful set of Irons. A very interesting choice of finish for these Irons, however; what they are now doing with durable finishes on metal is outstanding. Hey Duffer, these Irons would have a very stunning look with the KBS Tour Black Nickel Shaft and a White Grip. IMO. Goodsie

Kyoei Zestaim - The Art of Japanese Forgings
Oh My!! I have just turned on my "Club Ho" Radar again after looking at these Babies. I recently bought a nice used set of Vega 50th Anniversary MB Blades in which I installed the KBS Tour Shaft, Pured/FLO'ed to perfection and buffed up the finish. The Vega MB is a great looking Iron at address but the looks were definitely out done by the performance of this Iron. The shot feeling is tremendous with excellent workability and trajectory. AND now, "T" has shown us these new Kyoei beauties here on TSG and they look just great as the design and finish are first rate, which means that my "Club Ho" Radar is definitely scanning these new Zestaims.

Any drill for NOT to throw the club at the ball??
Go to your local Golf Store and buy an Impact Bag, stuff it full of towels. Then take your address position and place the club at the back of the Impact Bag and push it through the hitting area on out towards the target, then follow through. Do this over and over until you can feel that you can hold the angle of the right wrist or as Brett Smith advocates....straight left wrist, bent right. You follow this drill and you wil soon start catching the ball in the middle of the face without throwing the club head at the ball. Brett produced a Video clip on pushing the Impact Bag emphasizing the straight left, bent right wrist position. Be sure and watch it as it is a terrific visualization of the correct way to strike the ball. I hope this helps.

Distance and forgiveness on another level
The 9003 and the P9003x are two of the top performing Shafts out there and to think these Shafts are over two years old. In the Shaft "shelf life" parlance, these two Bombers should be relics but instead they can stand up with the best of them.

Low launch, low spin shaft
Another "Worm Burner" would be the Ozik F7M2 and its Long.

Could someone please help me with a hybrid shaft weight question
Mjr. D, Consider a KBS Hybrid Shaft. It is steel and in the 130gm range with very low dispersion and great feel. I am experiencing great feedback from the guys who have used this shaft in their Hybrids. I, myself, have a KBS Hybrid shaft in a Nickent 24* but, unfortunately, haven't had the spare time to put it thru a test run. Shame on me, Huh!! Goodsie

Hybrid - lend a hand damn it
In reviewing your list, I find the Nickent is missing. The Nickent is a proven performer, especially the 4DX model. Square face without an offset and when used with a very low torque shaft will produce scoring shots without the severe left curve of most Hybrids. Another winner that flies below the "radar" but is the most used Hybrid on Tour. Without a huge marketing budget available to tell the masses about the 4DX, most amateurs don't know much about the Nickent and its ability to hit shots from all lies and still stop the ball on the green but the Pro's know about it.

Pull/draw with irons.
Most Pull/Draw shots are caused by the arms/hands passing by the chest too quickly at impact. Try to stay connected (arms to chest) thru the shot. You see the Pro Golfer putting a towel or headcover under the left armpit to stay connected and not let the arms out race the chest thru the shot. Voila' gone is the Pull/Draw and fewer chips from the grunge to the left of the Green. Try this little tweak, I think you will like it.
