  1. obvoiusly he does not know what a J340 is... :-D it's a driver..and a damn fine one  Nope. I did not know. Simple mistake on my part. But unlike you, I was just trying to provide information and be nice :-) Calm down. He is just toying with you. Look at the emoticon. Also it would help if you read original post closely because I don't think it is possible to foam an iron head. :smile1:

IMHO that was the worst shaft of the 3. The 757 was "unforgiving" in the sense that it is hard to load properly but when you do you will not hit longer drives and the shaft will feel incredible, if you do not load properly it will feel terrible and not be worth the $$$. The YS 6 is a shaft that will fit a lot of golfers. Tip soft and plays half a flex softer (more in the TM shallow bores). It will help get the ball up but will also help it go left. Feel is also smooth because of the kick you get. Now to the shaft you got. Pretty tight and plenty long. Not as hard to load as the 757 not as playable as the YS6. But the feel is terrible. Good and bad swings feel the same off the ball. I would compare it to a proforce 65/75 with I guess better manufacturing tolerances. :D

There were 3 stock shaft options I have had 2 R300 Tours with two of them and have extensively played the other/YS6 in other heads as well. Which one do you have?

I still play that baby with a Six. TP cannot/has not knocked it out. It comes in 3 stock options 757, Mitsubishi Rayon, GD YS6. Feel is solid for a Hi Cor. Not tinny at all. My originally came with a 757 which I BOMBED. Shaft broke. A few swing changes and surprisingly the Six is coming out to be better. I get less tired towards the end of the round. I used to have the one with a Mistubishi as back up. Good shaft as well. Tight and long but didn't feel particularly good (boardy). These things are on closeout all over Asia generally in the $150 to 200 price range depending on shaft. ONly came in 2 lofts. 8.5 and 9.5.

Interesting and so I went on Honma's website and look at their sponsored pro's and saw only 1 out of 8 using Tour World. Majority of them are using the following: Men used 400rf or 420rf Women used MG410 Thanks for your input xxio. No prob. Nice for you to know you have a very good driver in your bag. I have hit that driver and it is awesome. I just don't like reshafting Honmas and messing with the craftsmanship and resale value. TM on the other hand I go through like 3 or 4 reshafts a head before deciding which combo to keep bacause there is no resale value anyway (They are good heads though). :smile1:

Noticed the Phil Rodgers wedges. Do these play like the Trusty Rustys? I miss the TRs. Also how are they at address? Similar shape to....900s, 588s, Vokey 200s/300s/400s, Callys, etc?

Not really answering your question, but we have a local pro who plays on the JPGA. Last year he had an all Honma bag. Sponsored I guess. He had all Tour World. 3&5wood and the P irons but he still had the 400RF as his driver just plain longer and more forgiving (compared to the Tour World driver i guess).

Relapse is when you get sick once in a while not when your sick all the time. let me know how the XDrive 390 pro spec with the 671 TE works out. Continue plugging hard to keep the Sake in the bag and preventing Kool Aid from taking over. It crept into mine and it's been really hard to kick out.

I had a XR03 with the stock X flex for about 2 rounds. Very long and quite forgiving. The stock X played like a YS 6 X. Surprisingly that 8.5 set up square. I'm a low ball hitter and got offered a good price for it.

Whatever happened to "I'm paring down the bag". I have that SMS message saved on my phone. I showed it to Tades once. He couldn't stop laughing. X Drive 390 plus the R7 max you have "on loan" as well. You have so many "on loan" to you the interest payments must be killing you. What else aren't you telling me about?
  12. Sorry picked up another putter last night. Thanks.

There is an air muscle "3" if I am not mistaken. The longer shaft should make it play like a 2 iron. The only 2i I have ever liked is my Ping ISI N w DGs400.
  14. I have a 3 wood from China that looks exactly like the TM 580 FW but it is a smooth top and no weight cartridge. It is totally blank except for the 15*. I should put a 757 in it and call it a protoype :smile1:

Not to rain on anyones party but it only costs the chromer less than 5.00 per head to do it and the middle man gets charged 10.00 a head. so where do people get 45.00 and even worse 60.00 a head, thats insane. Chris if you start up again and charge only $20 or so I'm sure you will get a ton of business. Everyone wants to get on the satin/3x black/antique finish bandwagon.

I have hit the Exim irons made from soft steel. Maruman looks like its making a comeback.
  17. Pics? Money order? Shipped to San Fo, CA?
  18. It does come with the stock NV 65 and 75 in all flexes, plus the combo flexes as well. I'm trying to do a search on the reputation of these guys before I pull the trigger. If you do order tell me how it goes.
  19. Just a heads up. Wholesalegolfequipment had NP 99s at $250!!! last week. Check it out.
  20. The previous batch of balls the U tri extra distance was the TS UX diamond, the U tri extra spin was the UX arrow, the U tri Tour is the UXs. The X01 and X01s ball don't have US counterparts yet. They usually show up in the Precept line almost a year later. So maybe by the end of the 6year. They should keep making the Tour Premium LS though just like they should've kept making the Nike Tour Accuracy TW. Those were 2 really really good balls.

Almost all Honmas are not forged but they do use a specific "soft steel" that feel on par or even better than the very good forgings. Maruman is also going that way with the Exims made of soft steel. I have a guest set of LB 280s in a "black barrel" finish. They look like a hybrid of blades and Ping Eye 2s. They are Regular flex graphite so they don't really make my personal rotation. But the quality is top notch. When I ordered these custom when I said 37.75 5 iron they asked if that was length with or without grip. :surprize:

Honma has been moving away from the gold plated stuff lately. They actually have normal looking stuff. The Tour World "athlete" blades and the Tour World P CBs are last years models but are very very good. They also now have heavier shaft options for the better players as well.
