  1. If you send me your gas1 I can guarantee 100% that we can replicate it and even make it better.
  2. I dont know Ari, ya know the rules are different there. It would be nice to know, can you help us figure that out? BTW are you able to do a Japanese brushed satin wedge where only the face rusts? I just called the USGA to ask and I am expecting a call back any minute. Here is a direct link to their rules concerning grooves. http://www.usga.org/playing/clubs_and_ball...upplementa.html The way I read it is that all of the grooves need to be exactly the same but you know how the rules of equipment are always open to interpretation. Ill be interested to see what they say when I get a call back. As for the raw face with the rest of the head Satin I do not see why that would be a problem but I will check on that also. We have never had anyone request that before.
  3. Chris, Are those Gauge wedges with the 5 bottom milled grooves USGA legal?
  4. My Scratch/Mills Proto is handmade by David Mills. It is carbon steel plated with Copper. It is based off his square mallet head design with a slightly offset slightly off center shafted hosel. It is 42" belly length with a 400 gram head. Everything was made to my exact specs and how I wanted it (just like our wedges! ) I will see about getting some pics up.
  5. Let me know when you are planning on coming by! We are currently in the process of setting up an extremely comprehensive fitting center here at the shop and at the range at our country club. We have thousands and thousands of dollars of equipment including slow motion cameras, launch monitors and other such high speed fitting equipment that help us assure you get the right fit each and every time. In addition to getting the correct fit you can also see pictures, hard numbers and hard data proving that the club fits you to a T. If you are looking for the ULTIMATE place to go to get fit for wedges the Scratch Golf Clubs Fitting Center is that place.
  6. I have no experience with the new GD wedges and obviously I am biased but keep in mind that we can do any grind that you want and we go so far as to fit the grind to your swing type, typical playing conditions and what kinds of shots you like to hit. Also keep in mind that we offer different grooves to match the spin to what you are looking for and that we match the shape to exactly what you like to look at. In addition we use the softest steel on the market 1018 compared to 1020-1045 in other companies wedges. Basically we can do ANYTHING which gives us the ability to build you your perfect wedge as opposed to having you choose something from off the rack.

  11. I really like the look of that Tubu Black. Any chance of a center shafted model?
  12. I wanted to let you guys know that we now have demo clubs in a few stores across the country. Boyne Highlands in Harbor Springs Michigan Max 5 Golf in LA California Eugene Country Club in Eugene Oregon (our home course) and Chelan County Custom Golf in Wenatchee Washington. I urge any of you that live in these area to go demo some of our wedges!
  13. The plating is removed with a chemical solution that is quite toxic. You have to be very carefull to not leave the heads in the solution too long or you can pit the metal. I wouldnt reccomend doing this yourself you could call any chrome shop in your area and they most likely could do it. If you want us to do it the price is $20 a club extra.
  14. It is going to be tough to find a review of the Black 2005 CBs because there are no sets out there quite yet. There are 2 different members on here that have sets on the way (one in 3X Black and one in Black Plated) but nobody has their set in hand yet. You should be able to find some reviews of the 05 AR-1 CBs in Satin or Polished Chrome. Keep in mind that the finish will not change anything about the performance (although the absence of chrome will make them feel a little softer) of the clubs the finish is all about what you like to look down on. If you have any other specific questions email me at [email protected] and I would be happy to answer them.
  15. "Man Tiger is going to need to have a pefect ballstriking day tomorrow if he wants to win this tourney. Kinda like when I hit all 18 greens in regulation and shot 63 at Oakmont." LOL J/K I like Johnny Miller usually I just think its funny that he has to mention his round at Oakmont atleast twice a telecast especially during the Open.
  16. I cant answer for everyone else only myself. I was playing DGS400s for years. Recently I have shallowed out my swing plane and joined a new club where you have to fly the ball in high with longer irons in spots. As a result I felt I was hitting the DGs too low and I always felt I was trying to elevate the ball which was hurting my swing. I tried the DG lites and I didnt like them at all I didnt like the feel and they didnt go higher so much as they upshooted more or had more spin. I tried the DG SLs which I found performed pretty much the same as normal DGs at a lighter weight. I tried the NS Pro 1050s and I they were closer to what I was looking for although they were lighter than I wanted. I really liked the feel better than any other shaft I had played and I found that the initial launch was higher rather than just providing more spin. (I still play on the coast alot so I need to be able to hit lower spinning shots into the wind) However they hit the ball even a little higher than I wanted in the short irons and I had a bit of a hard time hitting the ball low when I wanted. I went to the 1150s with my new set of AR-1 "Tours" hopeing that they would be the perfect combination of everything I was looking for and they proved to be that. The weight is right where I want it, the ballflight is what I am looking for, they dont spin too much and most importantly I can still hit the low punch shot when I am at Pacific.
  17. We can do our 3X Black Oxide on any RAW UNPLATED club for $20. It is alot tougher to do a club that is plated.
  18. I have been playing the NS Pro 1150s for about a month now and I feel like I know them well enough to do a review. Previously I had been playing either S400 DGs or X flex NS Pro 1050s. (I am playing hardstepped S flex in the 1150) The 1150s seem to be a perfect blend of my previous 2 shafts. The ballflight is lower and tighter than the 1050s but it gets up in the air a little more than DG. The biggest difference I see in trajectory is my ability to work the ball with the 1150s that I didnt have with either previous shaft. The 1050s I had a hard time hittig low punch shots and the DGs I had trouble hitting a high towering shot. With the 1150s I can do either and I have a nice medium trajectory on my normal swings. Feel wise I find them to be in between the 1050s and DG again. They are not as "smooth" as the 1050s and not as "harsh" as the DGs they have a great feel that is somewhere in between. All in all I am very happy with these shafts and I dont see myself switching anytime soon. If you like the other Nippons but want something a bit heavier and designed more for the better player these are the ticket. If anyone has any specific questions Id be more than happy to answer them.
  19. Those grips look great I loved the Iomic grip I had on my putter. What size are the regular grips .600 or .580? How soft are they?

CONGRATS that might just be the deal of the century. Your lucky I didnt see them I would have bought them back for $420+ myself. LOL The Sweeper grind is designed for someone who takes a thin divot to no divot at all. The Digger grind or Anti-Dig grind as it is often refered to is designed to combat digging for someone who takes a good divot. It sounds to me like this is the grind that would work best for you. If you have a pic or 2 from the listing that shows the sole I should be able to tell you which one it is. The difference between the retails and the prototypes is the stampings. The retails have our S logo stamped on the back muscle along with SCRATCH and AR-1 stamped in the cavity. The protos have the S logo only stamped in the cavity. There was 2 runs of protos the first had a normal more block font for the numbers while the second run has our normal more styles numbers on the sole. Best of luck with them and be sure to post a review!!!
  21. Email sent to both of you! Seany your clubs are on the way back from the finisher. DUBBED your clubs shipped a little over 2 weeks ago I believe we are just experiencing a little delay with Canadian customs. (not the first time) Sorry guys for the lack of communication we have been incredibly busy moving into a new shop etc and I havent had full time internet connection. As of yesterday I have DSL again so I will be around full time once again. Sorry for any angst or confusion I have caused. [/u]
  22. Its very easy just put it in your shaft puller and pull it like any other normal shaft. We tried to get the Aluminum hosel sleve to come loose and it was not happening no matter what we did. As long as you use a heat gun and not a torch you will be fine.
  23. Dave, Great review! We have heard nothing but great things on these irons from the people that are lucky enough to have a set. Retail price on a new set is $1250 and we offer 2 different grinds and Satin or Polished Chrome. That includes your choice of shafts and specs.
  24. I find that the Evo plays about a flex stronger than indicated. I am playing a R flex untipped right now my driver SS is 105-107mph. I had tried 3 different S flex Evos and they were all too stiff. I decided to try the R flex and it is perfect. I have never played an R flex in anything else literally. I am even playing X flex iron shafts but I wouldnt want to play anything stiffer than the R flex in my driver. That being said IMO there is no better shaft out there when you find the right flex for your swing.
  25. Also keep in mind that there is no paintfill in the irons. Apparently there is some confusion because the lighting in the pics makes it look a little bit like there is some paintfill. These are just raw clubheads.
