monacco for a start are MEANT to be some kind of special tour release mumble jobby that darren clarke played in last yrs open triumph, but they seem to be popping up all over the place. aparently there were 1000 sets made , but it seems like thaey missedprinted , nad left off a cpl of 0s ...! i think i saw a set advertised on a wheat-a-bix box last week.....! they are low. def lower than modus. not as low as c-tapers. c-tapers feel like a railway sleeper in comparison. ive been playing c-tapers, but i dont get it....... spblues are (ithink this is right) hardenened steel by firing small ball bearings at he shaft to tighten up the integrity of the shaft. somehting like that anyway. what will they think of next...! anyway they play tight , hard nad very very strong. they DO NOT have as much feel as the other NS shafts but they are prob the best shafts tive played if uwant to hit straight, dead striagh and low. think LINKS golf... think SP blue...! -

mate its hard to pass up the modus 3 really .... u love the NS feel already , nothing else has that feel. and the modus just are a bit ...,gee more advanced(?) theya re close to the perfect shaft, they have great dispersion, they land soft, you can work them JUST a bit when u need to , and they feel terrific. errrrrr, maybe the crazy steel. they are bit more rigid tho i think , i only hit them a cpl of shots but ilove em! the monaccos i would recomend in a heart beat , they are low and tougher in the 8-9pw but get nice and fluffy as u go towards the 3i can work these about no probs. they are like a smoother feeling s300. if ur going to play in vegas manily id pro say the modus impossible to beat. if ur going to play links more in wind then id plumb for the monaccos -
im sure J u will love these. T ario or carlo would be much better to task about spin of shafts than i. im not technical, i just hit. the sp blue will be pretty hard to beat id imagine ,they certianly dont go high thast for sure.. the monacco i really really like. they are a smooth feeling kinda shaft . nothing really stands out about them. they just play beasutifully . i think, they are a bit flighted. but im not 100% sure, certainly hte 3i is easier to hit i nthese than the sp blue.. so thast why i think the longer irons shafts might be a bit flighted.

i had a very very brief interlude intio akira... the m109 proto with quardra fex... unless uhit the centre of the centre of the centre at 1.5 smash factor.. u were dead. hit one of these at longy that went 100 yards forwards and 300 backwards right ended up in the bombora! it was the most unhittable driver for humans. it soured my taste completely for thier drivers the wedegs tho... they were good!
-
there a cpl of big kahooonas about ,i certianly wouldnt say they grow on trees here thast for sure.! theres a guy at my driving range that used to be a baseball player that got into hitting home runs ....but on the golf course...., hes amazing to watch. utterly huge, just bangs balls relentlessly to the top of the net at kasai. amazing stuff. obv, when i say i see these clubs about, its like 1 in every 30000000, ..., but the clubs i tend to notice are at that end of the spectrum rather than the reg flex stuff. and the attas t2 is more often than not in that head. i think thast the shaft for the big boys, i hate the thing feels like a metal rod, but it obv works a treat for the clobberers .

was in an old post on club building look under 6ft 3 clubbuild i think hat was he post i made....
-
mate try the yammy tours form 2011. they are like a reved up form of the 302s. lthere is nothing ike the af tours..... thast whay the yare so good. they did something no one else has made a big blade. i use these as a cavity and i use them when the grass gets thick.. thin blades for tight lies. flush for lush.
-
i hardly see them in anything any more . the speeder 787 i see about a bit in x flex drivers a bit . but after i saw how my big mate hit it , and how badly is played for him i phoo phooed it completley. the guys a gorila, he shud be using th tatattas t2 thing and hed get 30 more yards... thats a shaft istil lsee lot the yellow black t2.. see a lot of them in xx flex. in fact se more of those in heavy flex than anythingelse. way too stiff for me, but goes to show i guess. that seems to be the shaft of choice for the lang ball lamas

its a battle for the ryoma shaft between the stinger 70x the ls noir and the shingo ive tred them all in it and they are all awosme in this head. the stinger porb plays the softest (but isnt) and the shingo the most rigid. the ls noir has the spot right now... im playimng this thiswekeend to give it a real try agn out . only one driver so ill know for sure. i hate cutting these top shafts down too much. but as it seems i like playing ( play better) heavier heads i really have no choice. i dont like thick grips the thickest i dare go is the iomic xevolution. one layer of tape under a perfect pro cord has become my thickness im most comfy with, had to abandon the leahter gripmasters, they upset me. too thick coulnd get right hand to release , everything went right. i think i ll have to bite the bullett. well see.

ok a cpl of struggles with the ryoma... my one is at 202 grams now. it brings the flight down a LOT it makes the driver a lot more punchy and distance gains increased noticeably. however..........................., @ 45inch shingo spec and 45.25 inch ls noir the uber reliable accuracy has struggeld to keep up with the lighter 198g head version. the one in sydney at 44 inch p9003x tho doesnt suffer the same fate. i think im learning that if u go heavier,, u must also go MUCH shorter. the sydney driver i dont find i loose too much distance what so ever. and accurayc is spot on ryoma the new builds ive found it harder to rely upon it. its def longer. definatly.. but im pondering whether to cut the shingo to 44.75 ish. thats a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge call. but they suit each other beautfiully, great match. i dont want a replica of the p9... im left i na quandry

SP blue! or ...., modus TX X maybe. im gaming them in a set of 2011 yamaha tours and they are GREAT shafts. i didnt get on with the s flex , they were flighty. but hte stiffer heavier ones, oh man so so good. the SP blue in higher laucnhing,, softer heads... like say epon af tours..'game over! yea spoon 37.5 or at msot 37.75. im 180cm and i use 37.75 in just about evertyhing. ive got longer buti find subconsciously i choke down when i play them so that tell me 37.75 is spot on for me. read the post that tom wishon sent me about length its tremendous. but id say 37.5-3/4 will be perfectly fine.
-
yea u got the non tour one , the tour ones is def harder to get up , its quite low. ur one is so simple the clsoest thing i can think is the onoff fro m a cpl of yrs ago , very similar. i prefered the yamaha, my bud liked the onoff. both are simple. u wont have any prob with these
-
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh spoon.................... THAT is the comparison ive been searching for .. yes shimadas are a very smooth DG same kinda flight same kinda dispersion. modus tho.. gee they are good. btw spoon the DP x are now my favs
-
hmmmmmm, miogh want to rethink that id say. they are good steel. other one id sugest is the shimada ks tour 120s, mid lfight, might be a very good mix for the epon, i have a 7 iron 302 with it in in stiff, shich is just a little bit soft for my liking butt he flight in the 302 and feel suits really well. hard to top the modus 3.. tho.... wait till u see the graqphics on my NS proto shafts if u think the modus look garish....
-
ah ah., i used to use the rombax , 7v05 i think it was. loved that shaft, had them in a cpl of fairways as well. then i tried quadra then crazy, the rest is history. now it seems GD is the OEMS favourite , the di- dj and BB in just about everything, hope they dont go down same road
-
yea i had the akira proto m009 that was the worst driver id ever hit. well u know what i have in my arsenal , and im gravitating to this thing right now. with all manner of shaft combos.. the p9003x has been the best so far, at 44 inch , this shaft in the jbeam 435 for my SS was too much , too tough , too heavy to get best results. the quadra fex in the 9.5 at 45 was really really long, i just couldnt control it going right. but thats the trouble i always have. and the fex and i kinda get very right a lot . try play around with some weight combos in it bec im not kiding im killing this thing .. like i said tho im trying to get th 9.5 wired properly . i think im going to go shorter length with it to get some better control. its worked wonders in the 10.5* .. and as u know i favour nothing but the best results ... thsi thing is giving it to me in amlpe quantities. might be the combo of ther heavier shaft??? iknow where i hit the ball on my home track with all my drivers and thsi thing is righ up there with every one, and imn getting it centered more than the others. im going to try the crazy sigma i n the 9.5 an d play it at 44.5 ish.. see how that goes... the bb7s aint working right now
-
the 10.5* kp-x is higher, signicantly. vs the 9.5* ryoma with my shafts in them mind you, (i dont play the stock shafts) id think everyting is easier to draw that thew ryoma, that just goes straight.
-
we were discussing this on sunday at golf... they were the first to do custom fitting they had the most lines they were in everyones driver heads.. now .., well nothing.............,

jee thats going to feel so so soft with hat big old muscleback. just not inspired by the designlooks ican picture how it will go in my head tho. butter...., -
the older iff i discoveed a while ago. iused the non tour version but i found it not quite to what i like. (its too easy to hit) yup read that right. so i found the "tour version" hmmmmmmmm nice and hard to hit. me likey so much ibougth 4 14 + 17 with diamana kaili 80x and 70x in australia and here with roddio prototype tour 70 + 80x these go ok, they are a bit more solid that the newer versions, and very hard to source now. i think the newst model with the wings on the sole are super easy to hit and the 2009 fric off the best allrounders. the iff feel more...... tightly wound(?) than the others. i love em. of course... from YAMAHA
-
hahahahahahahh wanted to hate it immediatly and dispose of it............., how many times have i sad that only to wind up with egg on face. the distance on the 435 just gets ya . oh nad its forgiving. the ultiamte driver is this head wit hthe epon zero feeling game over if that ever happens
