club building advice...,
OK fellas , thinking caps on. i have set of 1957 miuras curently shafted with the PX 6.0 flighted satin. i love the feel of these, seriously they feel so terrific. HOWEVER all my other clubs have a lot more taught, rigid shafts on them and the performance is definatly better, nothing feels better than the miura set up bec the shafts are so soft but as soon as the puff starts then i notice a huge differnce in non-performance of these compared to my kyoeis and epons.. the epon and kyoei both have the NS sper peening blue in them. i was told NOT to put these i n the miura heads bec of the difficulty of launching them i was thinking of putting some NS SP orange like in my yururi flat backs i dont like KBS and DG CHAPS A PENNY FOR UR THOUGHTS MY IDEA is this , NS sp orange in the 3-4-5-6 NS SP blue 7-8-9 pw im just stewing on this as we speak. but seriously the feel of the PX is so good, but i cant score with them they arent precise enough. suggestions ? oh the pain, the pain..........,

raw head rust.........,
ah yea forgot abt this sorry yes! got back and they wernt as bad as i expected for a start. there was spotting all over them and Dad had some fine steel wool in the garage . so i took this and polished the backs of the heads lightly and pretty much all of it ground away easily , no scratch marks on the heads either. i took a steel brush to the faces and every speck is gone. polished them all up with some sword oil and viloa......., instant golf club heads agn. they are in good nick agn now. took the DG s400s out nad put some super peening orange sst pured in there and wow got some white iomic x evols on them. they look money baby! they feel totally differnt now. th dispersion is tighter by a noticeable way on off centre shots and they launch low still. used them in some heavy wind in the comp at "longy" and made some tough shots without the ball blowing in to the sea. i was contemplating shiping them out , but i kinda like having them in oz left them and a set of tour stage 901s there this time for my next jaunt down. theres something thing wrong with me i just cant hit heads with DG shafts in them what is that?

Please save me with my Egg Spoon 15
it worked wonders for me in australia it was blowing a gale most of the time and i hit so many fairways down there with awsome results. the egg is a wondeful weapon when u get it sorted. and the major drawback with it is its swing weight to the other clubs , its lightness makes u top the ball a lot i was spitting chips for ages till i was "saved" i dont use it off the tee any more, i bag 2, 3 woods a lot of the time now the egg and the yamaha V 14* for tee shots.( this thing is seriously long as well ) but i cant hit it off the deck any where near as well as the egg. the egg is is a class of its own for that. bec of its trajectory being high, i can hit it comfortably shorter distances high like a 5 wood . a very versatile culb.

Please save me with my Egg Spoon 15
ahhhhhh yes indeeed the old swing fast as hell head up eyes closed imagining ur 300 yard 3w thump , only to open them and see it dribbling like a wounded seagull 25 yards in to the thick rough ! oh yes, i know this EGG disease VERY, VERY VERY well. the egg head IS very light and VERY aerodynamic. which DEFINATLY throws ur tempo out . your SS is faster with this club than with your other clubs for sure . even the old egg. so ur tempo will be out . how to solve this. well i did it like this thanks to lorena ochoa. coaching on the golf chanel .., take ur club back very close to the ground for longer than normal and slower than normal . when u get to the back of ur back lift ur tempo has slowed bec of this purposefull move. when u hit the ball u will be sweeping low. rem this club has a preposterously sleek face so u need to be mind full of that, u can NOT hit down on it anywhere near like other clubs or u will top the living daylights out of it , get a sky mark and have to sell it IMMEDIATLY..........! think SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP , slow sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeping draw balls. i look a littel shorter up the fairway with the egg than i normally do with my yamaha V and this slows my tempo considerably , the result is better than i think bec the ball rockets off this club. BUT i have to look shorter than normal to slow my tempo, and the resut is better than i expect EVERY time. i also choke down on it a bit and concentrate on that centre line. im sure if its good enough for lorana its good enough for us mere mortals. it certianly was for me. it only happend to the egg, i wrote about this a while ago, i was topping the blazes out of ball form the tee, bec i was swinging so fast. now it doesnt happen. see if that helps

sst puring = gooood.....!
Just back in JP from my christmas tour de force in Oz 23 of 25 days golf.................................., (my backs killing me) took an orgy of clubs with me and played every one till i cant swing no more. played a marvellous cacophony of awsome courses pretty much links based on kai grass fairways. tough for us soft JP guys who are used to hitting off clouds and marshamallow. tell you one thing, ur ball striking improves dramatically....! sst puring????????? yes i beleive there is a big difference. the most noticeable was in my kyoeis. previously i had these shafted with the NS 1050 x (which i absolutely love btw) great feel , stiff with a little less weight , untill i hit them with super peenings blue i thought these were my kahuuunas,It just transpired that whenever the conditions got really blustery (which they were most of this chrissy, ) i tended to take the kyoeis out. they really shined tho when i played a course called magenta shores. a BRUTE of a links where the average handicap amongst members goes up 7 shots. and thats no understatement, its almost impossible into strong wind. i took the kyoeis out for 3 days straight in some terrible stuff and i was so happy with the results. the straightness, the ball flight, the weight, suited these heads so well. they didnt feel as good as previous prob bec i had to work harder but he resulatant ball lfight was terrific. u cant leave them hanging , so it actually improved my ability to hit down on the ball , best decision ive made in shaft changing so far. it was so evident that id been hitting too light shafts for far too long. when i didnt get the ball pure. they were at their best. the misses were a lot more accpetable. than my other sticks. the notceable differnce is when i cut one too much and the ball normally just swings right kilomters with the new set up that didnt happen anywhere near as badly. gents if u havnt been "pured" yet and your considering doing it, dive in. after playing that much golf i can def say i noticed a great difference between the clubs id had done and not done. i didnt get the drivers done, not enough time, they are next to go. thks to antonio for his work in Sydney , sorted the irons out beautifully . brougt them all back to japan , so cant wait to hit them on the spring grass in march-april to see how they go on courses i played previously without it being done.

Why buy a club made in Japan?
Feel, quality of wrkmanship, design aesthetics, pretty covers it for me. Ping is a great comparison.ihate the look, shape and design of them, butif I played them I doubt if is lose many strokes , but looking them Erks me, just hate to take them out I dontlike the look of them.all the best clubs are MIJ anyway so why not get the best there is pretty sure endo and kyoei who makes everyones sticks make their own line just a little better than mass produced members. They look better feel better and imo and when I step onto a.course they play better. Why would people buya.Mercedes when a skoda does the exact same job.?

JDM Hybrids - What are you playing?
I had a big look at these earlier this yr. I tried the epon 901 The Roy colle tion Adams Tm burner Egg 22* Prgr egg4 iron I found the epon to be the nicest.soft feeling iron style but it didn't suit me I like wood style hybrid betterso I now have the egg and 4iron as My hybrids and they are going fine. Both are a.little.long the travel about 10+ yards further than I really want but I changed the shafts and that's prob why Thategg4iron is a beast of a club plays a lot more like a hybrid that an iron. That's what.I'm tending to go with more.often than not. But I still think as much as I hate to say it Taylor made utes are really hard to beat

If you're in the market for a new driver and have some cash to spend, make sure you consider this:
exactly........ how do u describe it ? its kinda mute really , just chk chk kaboooooooooooooooooooooom...............! u hit it and go hmmmph well yea whatever. then walk to where the ball is and go f....k me! i used it agn today in blustery cons. at Long reef and blew the course apart on the drive. in pertty long off the tee, (nothing special and certainly , nothing like Mjr D , but i dont think many humans on earth are! )i, but was hiting to inside 90 on par 4s and on the par 5 9th admittadly with the SWesterly at my back i hit the driver to 145 yards out i, i have NEVER been anywhere near this befoire, on fri in comp i hit to 195 out and took the egg spoon today i hit a long 7 iron over the flag...... it plays 495 i was beyond belief. the ball must have rolled 40 odd yards. and didnt go above shoulder height. its 9.5* im seriously thinking of shelling out everything else excpet the epon stinger bec that just the bestr feeling club EVER constructed. and 1 yamaha.....(just in case.!) and whats more the crazy aint even got the kahuuuuuna black 80 LS shaft in it. lord knows what wil happen when that puppy goes in it. oh, its REDICULOUSLY low launch, so if u need to make the ball soar , fahgetabout iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit..........................! that why ill keep the yamaha and the epon, cost................. thast the only thing here cost ( but if you wanna driver that hits fariways and dont need carry then its worth it folks, seriously)

If you're in the market for a new driver and have some cash to spend, make sure you consider this:
Well I think ur pretty spot on I got it with the crazy jt-46 shaft 7.7 And I can turn my hands over ias hard as I like with out snapping it ,i get a beautiful small draw. Super low launch runs for ever . i was stoked when i hit this. i dont thnks feel wise, its as nice as other top dogs , im using the yamaha 2011 tour-- quadrra fire 75xs. 2010 tour yamaha-- diamana stinger 70x... 2010 yamaha tour tphhd matrix... 2010 yamaha v 201 -- stinger 70s ... and epon 102 --stinger 70x 2008 yamaha v --graphite design p 9003x thats my weaponry for 4 weeks of chrissy golf and i think the jbeam is the most solid of all of these................................. and that a HUGE statement. I'm using it into wind.at Nsw and all the links Courses and it s the best performer . Yes its long I don't have a monitor. But I can Def. see its humongous. my shgots are slicing thru the air and rolling another 20 + yards in comp im only using this now. Its got a spot for ever in my bag I'm loving this. The feel I can equate to miura as against epon I like the soft feel when everything feels like butter. The j beam is more solid , i can see why long drivers would use this club. mines plays at45.5 inch and I grip right down and swing for the fences On every shot, i havnt blown up one shot yet its a brilliant driver . its aLOT more expensive than the others, a lot more but ...................,

Epon AF-Tour vs Miura 1957 Baby Blades vs ?
Yep got both sets and they are both great the miura with flighted satin project x This shaft makes them incredibly.easy.to hit. my mate has the miuraisms with DG s200 and they feel horrendous harsh as a railway sleeper. the epons ive got with kbs.tour which ordinarilly im not mad keen on , and ive swapped them out of about 4 sets this yr , just dont like them ,no feel, BUT in the epon af tour, they are sensational!, this set go perfectly together. the epon are simply the easiest softest blades to hit and By a Mile . the miura are the most enjoyable to hit and the most workable. they are REALLY REALLY small, but don't be afraid by their size , they actually make hittting the ball easier i think, they frame the ball so well and u hit down o n it so much easier, i didnt bring the af tours to oz with me, i brought the miura and that was a great result. soft ease simplicity=epon af tour nothing close , daylight work target achievement =miura 1957 neither are better............., i prefer the miura tho.

Iron shafts
i gamed the SP blue on sunday in the epon 302s. my initial thoughts were wow these are super heavy. quite a bit heavier. it was pointed out that they actually arnt that much heavier @ 125 gram , but the swing weight felt a lot heavier. it made me concentrate on turning my hands over , every shot otherwise i was leaving it out right ,but hey thtas not abad miss really .it wasnt a slice just a block, that i can live with. when i did get them well the results were great. very tight and distance control was sensational. found i was 3/4 swinging and punching more than i normally do and getting the ball tighter than i have in the past. it slowed my tempo and swing speed down and bec of that i felt i got a lot better control. thumbs up. im changing shafts in all my irons now to these. for my tempo, which is slow up hands to about 10pm then smooth down and stong into the ball , they were a good help. as i said if i dont turn the hands over then the ball blocks which ill take allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll day.

Fairway woods ., old Vs new
Before my last game of golf in japan this year on sunday gone. i was rumbling around my clubs sat night and for a change i decided to bring the"oldies" out for a run instead of my "ball mash machine " pr-gr eggs, just to see how they fair after not using them for a few months and how much technology had progressed. I decided on my old all ltime favourites, the Royal collection bbd type h 2 15* + 17* coupled with diamana blue 73 s in the 17* and X in the 15*. initially after not hinning these off the deck in a long time i was perfified to hit them offf the short stuff. they looked big! and comapred to the eggs they look like tiny shoe boxes on a string. obviously there anrt the are actually small but the sleekness of prgr is daunting. At this course i have to hit a ton of 3woods, my driver runs out thru the fairway into utterly impossible psoitions a lot if ur not dead centre so the 3 wood is a perfect foil. i hit 7 , 3 woods of the tees. same pretty most of the time , hence my massive deisre to find nirvana in FWS this yr. Im here to say, these "old things " played absolutly sensationally. i know why Tiger uses the blue board in his fw now ,the shot is pure its the gold standard of shafts in my book, it hasnt gt the best feel or the longest but its just so reliable. perfect flight kinda mid ish bit of carry bit of rollout. So as a comparrison n betwixt my armoury of woods how did they go? bloody well! ill use the eggs as a comparison , bec that what ive gravitated to this season. the Roycolls arnt as long off the tee but not a much as id thought. the ball flight is lower for sure the run out prob similar. i def swing slower and my tempo is better with the roy colls. and i hit the ball better than the eggs form a tee box. i feel supremly confident of putting it pretty close to where i want . def more so than the eggs. the roy colls have a small compact head. but a lovely sharp base edge that just say hit me where ever u like with any kind of shape. of the tee these are great .however...................., Off the deck the new technology comes into its own. the sleekness of the eggs on the short stuff. makes the ball look so easy to hit off the fairway so much better visually than traditional head (imo of course!) and id guestimate the eggs are like 20ish yards longer of the fairway than the roy colls. somwhere like that. i left the course after playing pretty well and hitting the fairway woods beautifully . wondeing what fate awaits these fantastic clubs. the feel of them is so good. the set up is so good, my confidence with them is soo good. they aint going anywhere.! IF i need to play a fw off the fairway 600+ to par 5s then the egss get the nod 100% of the time , but if my day requires a little more plotting, and moving the ball a bit the more traditional heads get bagged. the technology has made the new ones a lot longer no denying this. they are light and u can swing a little faster, get a higher shot and get near that long green more often but , if u need to think a little more than bang massive bombs, then the traditional heads are still right at the very top. ive basteredised my eggs so much this yr putting all and sundry in them , eventually going for heavy, low spin, low launch shafts into a club that was designed to fligh high , it took a long time to get that feeling i wanted and i think prob Gocchin or perhaps I-drive first go it right all that time ago with the old eggs and the crazy 80 fw. easily the BEST fw wood shaft bar NONE. uttelry amazing if u turn it over all the time results are stunning. If one requires a cheaper safe shaft then the diamana blue really hasnt lost anything over time. . simplicity at its most glaring. just not a long. both sets of these woods will be staying with me for the foreseeable future. oh and ive still got yamaha V 14.5- quadra fw . to consider... nice thoughts to consider each week .
