looking for great feeling putter
While putters are really a personal taste, feel, performance issue fitted to each individual, I would have no hesitation to suggest looking at some classic Bruce Sizemore designs. Very high quality, excellent craftsmanship and a great feeling stick in the hand. I have an older SB-2 model and love using it.

Gold's Factory Putters
Gold's makes an excellent putter. Then again, so do many others who also are seriiously committed to design, balance and performance. Personally, I'm partial to the original designs of Bruce Sizemore as well as Bettinardi, Byron Morgan, Clay Long, Nead (Machine), James Ingles and TP Mills. All of these designers are craftsman of the highest caliber, use superior materials and know the game. Where does the point of difference become apparent and at what value? I'll take a Sizemore SB-1 over any Scotty Cameron for example, and think Gene Nead is a design genius. Why is Gold's so damned expensive relative to the function of putting?

13 Amazing Finishes
I'm not sure if posting some pictures from another site is violating the rules here (if it is I apologize in advance), but I know how you guys love high quality, artisian putters and wanted to share some photos of 13 really nice finishes used by Bruce Sizemore (pre his association with SuperStroke). Bruce, as many of you know, is a highly respected and admired craftsman in the world of putters. 13 Amazing Putter Finishes.doc

Bruce Sizemore and SuperStroke Part Ways
From Press Release: SuperStroke has decided to focus exclusively on the sale of putter grips. The decision means that SuperStroke will part ways with the putter business, as well as Sizemore, effective at the end of the year. Sizemore emphasized that he felt no animosity in the split. He said he was happy with his putters from a design standpoint, saying they were “close to perfect.” “That’s the cool part,” Sizemore said. “At every end is a beginning. I’ll come up with some good stuff. It will just take some time.” Sizemore said plans to continue to design putters in his studio located in his hometown of Farmington Hills, Mich. He admitted that SuperStroke’s decision to exit the putter market caught him off guard, but he saw the complications that arose for SuperStroke by partnering with him. From me: Bruce has made fantastic putters under his own name, and some very special ones for SuperStroke. I hope Bruce continues to evolve his already excalibre design talents going forward. Can only wish this guy every future success. His stuff is that good.

Beautiful James Ingles Putters
Ant, Here is a comment from a guy on another forum that gives some insight into what can be done: "Yes. He can do some amazing stuff. For example, antique Damascus shotgun barrels that can no longer be used in shotguns since they won't pass proof (essentially meaning they are not strong enough to stand up to modern loads) can be fashioned into parts of the putter, and if you get really lucky he can even include the original (some from the Victorian era) proof marks on that piece of steel, from which you can often determine who made the shotgun, the buyer who commissioned it, and other details. He also has access to the premier case-hardener in the UK. And the premier engraver. And, and, and. You're limited only by your imagination and your budget."
