Evening everyone! Ok so I'm out playing today( been back to back golf over the past 2 days!)and for one reason or another I decided to use the AF202 of the Tee. Now after I stopped trying to kill the ball I found out that the over all distance wasn't far off the AF102. But what I wanted to know is that if I trimmed 3/4 or 1 inch from the 3 wood (butt end) what would that equate to in lost yards? The reason I asked was I found I got better result gripping down the shaft!!( didn't like the Feel) My playing partner( excellent Golfer) thought I'd loose lots of Distance? So is there a rule of Thumb? 1/2 =10 yards? When I got home, I looked for my old TM 3 wood, which I hit really well... And I was Gob smacked to see that it's almost 2" shorter!!(1" 5/8ths).... D

do we know when the full line up of 2012 Irons/ wedges will be released by the Top mainstream JDM marquees?? I'm on the Hunt again for new Irons .... Lol I'm torn between going down the athlete club head or some easy hit heads... !!

Thank you for the info, haven't tried the Mizuno Shaft analyser. Think I'll look for a Firm flex!

Well it as opened my eyes! Admittedly I have had to change my swing speed over the last 18 months are so but what is puzzling me( nothing to do with my ego either) is that my swing Data from Monday suggests Stiff(???) yet other than losing a few yards( could be a loft issue?) I think. The shape ,flight and accuracy was better.... Does any Shaft manufacture make a dedicated SR(firm) flex???

Well I played today, and I thought I'd try this theory out(mainly as I've sold my Epons).I've always thought , been told that Stiff flex would best suit my game, but today I tried some run of the mill irons with a TT Firm/mid shaft( well that's what was the shaft sticker said!)....now I've no idea of swing weight or even shaft weight,nor did I care to much for head shape or feel...BUT no word of a lie I've hit these every bit as good as my Epon which cost more than 10 times!! I had in my mind the very thought of what OP had wrote, and after 3 holes, which btw was with a 3 Handicap player( given me 6 strokes) I found myself 2 down! I then made a decision to calm the swing down and trust the shaft and I still can't believe the results, yes I lost a few yards, maybe even one club, but the flight and shape as opened my eyes. It's true to say you couldn't go after the shot with these shafts but a nice smooth swing and bingo.... So I guess now the hunt is on for a similar shaft set up or pull them and marry them up to some new JDM heads...??

Thanks, I didn't realise that the DG S300(px??) was as Heavy as it is!!... Didn't feel to Stiff either! Thanks for all the info and comments on the data provided, one last thing.... I know my swing is my swing, but just how quick/ slow is "MY" swing in relation to the Guide lines for Reg flex/stiff flex etc etc?

They do sound like very good Shafts but can the be Soft Stepped as each shafts is made for each Iron?

I was thinking Shimada in Tour Lite in S flex, everyone keeps pointing me to the Modus!

It might well have been a 5 and not a 2 on the rpm!!

The RPM might be wrong...?? Do you think my swing could handle the modus3 in S flex soft stepped

I think the R300 was just a comparison in feel... Nothing else! So what other shafts could you recommend? My tempo aggressive ?? Well it is at the top lol

ok here goes, After I've tried a few different things and equipment I thought I'd double check my swing a swing Data: The only club I could find that looked/ felt like anything worth trying was the Titleist CB Iron! The Test club was a 6 iron with DG S300XP! Ball Speed 105 mph Club/swing speed 83/85mph Launch Angle 16.1* Ball Spin 2900 approx Distance would be 170y/175y All data approx but work out on the 10 shot average! Again I tried the R200 or R300 can't remember , but I felt just to whippy!! So what shaft would you go for in the Shimada range!?? Do you think the Modus3 in S flex, soft stepped would be to heavy??
