  1. i guess i don't know that it necessarily plays softer to flex as much as it has better feel. i can just feel the tip load and unload better.
  2. lol, i wish i could blame it on alcohol. it's like walking around in nice shoes that squeak.
  3. pretty much. ly-02 is 7.2 and the wbq is stiff.
  4. one weird thing i've noticed with the bold. when i lay the 60 open to play a bunker or flop it makes a whistling sound during my swing. i don't know if it's the channel or the weight porting but i've noticed it on a few occasions. besides that, it's still the best wedge i've played. ;)
  5. wbq is my new favorite shaft for the 435...it takes anything and feels better than the ly-02.
  6. nice review. even though i already have these in the bag and can look at them whenever i want, i still can't help staring at pictures of these wedges. they really are one of the most beautiful clubs i've ever seen!
  7. let's see...i'd say the wbq 65 feels similar to the ly-02 but a bit softer...but not as whippy as the royal deco.
  8. these are my initial impressions from my first few range sessions with the wbq. this is on an outdoor range so i don't have any launch monitor data. launch: wbq is slightly lower and more penetrating. spin: trajectory and roll leads me to believe wbq has slightly less spin. dispersion: no noticeable difference feel: original feels a tiny bit better, likely due to slightly higher torque numbers...but the wbq does not feel bad by any stretch of the imagination. as a side note, i added a bit of weight to my driver head (1-2 swing weights) after my first session and it really improved the the feel and kick of the wbq. the wbq also seems to help me eliminate the left side so it could stick around for a while. unless you have monster ss numbers, i'm not sure i'd pair this shaft with a low loft head.
  9. i did the same with mine. i don't like bounce except possibly for the short delicate chips off really soft turf, even the wedge i use for bunker play only has 5* of bounce. so bending my 60 down 2* was a necessity. however, thanks to the narrow sole, even the 9* of bounce that's still there plays much better than other 9* bounce wedges i've tried. so far this is the most versital wedge i've gamed to date for any type of shot from flops to bunkers to chips. i still need more time with the 52 before i make a final decision but i'm optimistic after what i've seen from the 60.
  10. i'm not a scotty fan...but i'd love to roll that first one!!!
  11. i'll get back to you on this next week. ;)
  12. this looks nice. last year's x-fw type t is the best 3w i've played to date. at 12.5* it's long, somehow easy to hit off the deck, and workable. it never gets any talk around here but i'll tell you that it had no problem kicking a yamaha and egg spoon out of my bag.
  13. i probably won't have mine finished until next week but i'll let you know...
  14. damn, i'm building this combo right now...what couldn't you have offered this two weeks ago!!
  15. i like them but i do admit that i'll need more time to get used to the size. it's not that they're large, but the toe is a bit taller than i'm used to. however, it's not obnoxious by any means. the narrow sole with a high bounce is a concept that i believe will allow playability from any turf condition, so i'm excited to think i can settle on a universal wedge no matter where i play. my ball may hate me for choosing this wedge but thankfully one of my patients is a taylormade rep and i get my game balls at cost!! :)
  16. hit about 30 balls (prov1's) today and the balance and feel is right up there. i'll need my lies flattened 1* but other than that this wedge is very promising. i never make full swings under 130yds to help reduce spin and trajectory but these suckers bite! i think these may shread balls more than my non-conforming yururis...
  17. lol, got it ;)
  18. i may take some of you up on the offer to ship through jkf customs if this happens again. my wedges arrived this morning with the packaging completely intact so it's not like it got channeled for hand inspection. there's no real reason for the delay.
  19. yep, that was the teaser...
  20. looking forward to another review of the 388. i might have to try one of these yet! btw, very jealous of that shipping time...i'm going to have to reroute my international orders through jfk!
  21. a full week!
  22. fingers crossed!!
  23. kobayashi-san just finished the mold for his next club head. anyone else hoping it's an iron design as unique as the bolds (or everything else he's released over the past year)?!
