Eca's 2014-2015 Bag
with the c-taper for me the ball hops once and comes gently back to it's pitch mark (which is exactly what i want) so would it be safe to assume with the modus that i'd get too much spin?

Aerotech shafts?
as close to steel feel as you can get with graphite and they will cut down on vibrations to help with arthritis and tendinitis. i have the i125's in stiff and they're a mid trajectory very good feeling shaft. you'll enjoy these.

Eca's 2014-2015 Bag
there's nothing chunky about the s3's...even the cb's look pretty good. e, let me know what you think of the modus. i've now tried the sp blues and the monacos but still keep coming back to the c-tapers.

Eca's 2014-2015 Bag
i love that thing...but i could possibly be persuaded into letting you get that ryoma back...that is if i can get it back from my partner! i brought it to the range for a scramble on sat but decided to play the 435. he asked if he could hit it, then asked if he could play it for the day, then asked if he could take it home...and is now asking how much i want for it! it really is top of the top!!!

Help picking a new shaft
i'm definitely not one of the resident experts but here's my take... if you like a low spin low trajectory shaft then the sp blues or c-tapers are the way to go. i love the c-tapers as they feel great and take whatever i throw at them and just perform. the sp blues are supposed to have the same performance as the c-tapers but even better feel. however, it took me some time to figure these shafts out. they seem to favor a swing that loads late with plenty of lag. once i figured that out i can finally admit that these shafts are pretty impressive. i'm not sure why but they seem to feel more head heavy than any other shafts i've played. the other shaft i'm trying right now is the tt monacos. these are more mid trajectory and very smooth. overall they feel better than the sp blues on everything except the perfect strike, that's where the sp blues can't be matched. however, the monacos are the most balanced shaft i've ever touched...and you can feel that balance before you even swing the club. and if you want to get technical, they frequency out at perfect intervals unlike any other shaft i've had tested. there's good reason these were limited edition tour only shafts!

Hi Cor Drivers Comparison - who's the distance king?
yes, it does make a difference. the kamui is definitely the longest and best feeling jdm driver i've owned but i think the bigger distance gains will be had by the slower swingers (under 105mph).

Hi Cor Drivers Comparison - who's the distance king?
i have the kamui works ray n/c (for sale in bst) and i've found it to be quite workable.

Driver Confusion!!!
my v-spec (thanks to eca) is very anti hook being slightly open and on a crazy royal deco shaft. my favorite (which i really wanted to hate) is the jbeam/crazy 435. with the crazy ly02 noir shaft it gives me huge soaring slight draws with plenty of roll. my ss isn't quite what yours is and i get out over 300yds several times per round with this beast...sometimes significantly over if i catch it perfectly! oh, and it's as forgiving as my ryoma!

Hi Cor Drivers Comparison - who's the distance king?
they're not the only ones...but with their speed slot designs they're the only ones that can do it with a small head and steel faces. as for the original topic, it sure would be fun to see a comparison!

kamui works ray driver, yamaha inpres-x 3w, yamada shogun putter
that appears to be the route of a lot of people these days but i tend to like lower lofted heads on higher launching shafts as i seem to be able to work the ball better than vice versa...and with a normal shot i get that perfect mid launch trajectory. also, with higher lofted heads i give up much of the ability to hit low stingers into head winds which can come out of nowhere mid-round out here.

Help me find a driver that works as well as my 3 wood :)

kamui works ray driver, yamaha inpres-x 3w, yamada shogun putter
and the ho'ing continues... kamui works ray driver 9* true loft and square face, non conforming, mounted on ust mamiya red series 69 stiff shaft. this is easily the best feeling and longest driver i've owned or hit so far. nice low penetrating flight and plenty of roll. purchased new from tsg with maybe 10 rounds on her. $450 or $400 for head only, factory head cover included. next up the coveted yamaha inpres-x 14* 3w that spoon and supo rave about! mounted on a diamana 'ilima stiff shaft tipped 1/2" with a new white iomic x-evolution grip. fantastic feel and playability. purchased from spoon. $350 factory head cover included. last but certainly not least, a yamada limited edition shogun in his best and softest finish, burning copper...stunning!!! 33.5" finished length, leather gripmaster factory grip, 370g head weight. purchased new with a 3 month waiting list! again, maybe 10 rounds on this baby. $OLD with factory head over. all prices are shipped within u.s. and i will ship internationally but buyer is responsible for shipping/insurance.

new Epon irons.... RF-551
for this price, i think you might enjoy giving these a whirl. they have more of the usdm feel rather than the endo feel but they're very solid. they have a nice thin sole and meet the turf quite well. the shape and top line are very traditional and extremely pleasing to look at at address. on the right shaft these could easily make the cut in the rotation.
