  1. These short days and long nights have my wheels turning too much!!!
  2. My comment was just a play off what Swiss said in the post above mine. We always joke about how awesome T and C's pictures are compared to our BST pics taken with camera phones. I was drawing a parallel between Japanese culture embracing high end photography/equipment the way many of us embrace high end golf gear. Just an observation, no prejudice intended. I used to date a professional photographer...it is an incredible art/skill that certainly transcends race.
  3. Just revisiting this thread. I still want to get this going. I think bogey and I can handle the tracking of it, anyone else wanting to volunteer is more than welcome. I would like to start generating a list of interested parties and their locations. I would also like to generate a list of "clubs of interest." I also think we should start fleshing out the $$$ aspect of this, the deposit amounts or whatever. Looking for ideas here. It will take a bit of work to get this going, but I know a lot of us would prefer not to take 100's of dollars of hit on our mistakes, and this is a good way to avoid some of that through actual evaluation.
  4. NOT ANYMORE
  5. Every Japanese guy I have ever met has a camera that's worth more than all my golf gear combined
  6. This is really cool T thanks for the write up. Now I know what you were doing in Tokyo over the weekend! I will have a set of these wedges someday...
  7. And you're asking me how many sets of irons I need? Lol I want copper 302s, I ordered RomaRo blade/H combo set, and want a set of Raw flat backs because I love the wedges.

  9. The Yururis are incredible
  10. I tore my rotator cuff and sprained my left wrist last feb and had to go to a little lighter shaft til I got stronger. I wasn't crazy about going GS95 at first but the numbers didn't lie and they feel great.
  11. As anti left as the KPX is, a square face is probably more than adequate. I don't know anyone who has the TP driver so I cant speak for it at all. I suppose when ordering a new one you'd just set it up neutral to open bias and whatever weight you wanted and forget about it. I don't get into messing with the weights on stuff either, just learn how to hit it and the rest takes care of itself.
  12. These 302s aren't satin though....So how do they compare? Yes Spoon they look a bit like your old copper 302s
  13. I think the reason it was too high was more the Egg than the shaft, but that's just, like....my opinion, man. In all reality the BB will probably work just dandy.
  14. Because it basically is a cavity back design. The only difference between the Yamaha tour model and a normal players cavity back is a little bit of steel on the toe and heel to connect the perimeter weighting seen along the bottom and top line. I'm not dogging the design or the concept just stating the facts. Calling it a blade is a misnomer.
  15. Yeah that one is set up different than the KPX....
  16. I'm not so sure the kamui is set up to use the weights for draw or fade bias but more so for swing weight preference and ball flight height. Stew has mentioned that going to the heavier weights brought ball flight down and spin down.
  17. Yep, they are for sale...only because I stumbled onto some coppers I have to have. 302s 5-PW GS95 S (the best feel in steel!) Orange Nowon grips Orange and Navy ferrules ~2.5 months old Standard LLL Head covers always Mint $1350 PP Gifted US ----- I have a 502 4i set up the same way I can throw in for additional $250 that's never been hit as well.
  18. My stock driver swing right now is 111-112. Shortish, slow backswing, aggressive transition and move into the ball. I am always astounded with the roll I get with this combo even on higher drives. I hit this combo lower and more penetrating than my Ryoma/Crazy 519 SX combo, the KPX will launch somewhat lower than Ryoma and roll more IMO at the same loft but if you hit it high and are looking for more roll I wouldn't advise you against opting for a lower launching shaft. One thing that I have really noticed with this head is that it is more flightable based on tee height than most all drivers I have played. I have actually found that teeing the ball lower (halfway between first knuckle of index finger and second knuckle) yields a higher ball flight than my normal tee height of the second knuckle. Shots right out of the middle of the face really get up fast while slightly above the sweet spot or towards the toe will be much flatter trajectory, yet achieve similar distances. The gear effect the driver produces on such shots seems to be higher than usual. I guess I find that a little odd because the face doesn't have a ton of visual bulge and roll like some, but that could be due to the rather unique design.
  19. Mine is a 9.5 and I bought it with a Fubuki Alpha S in it that I will be replacing with either a FEX Proto X or CB 80 LS II Nero. No ballooning and extremely long, but just a bit higher than I would prefer on full out swings. But then again I am a higher launch higher spin player. I wouldn't call it either a high or a low launch head, it launches how a 9.5 should IMO. One thing with this driver is it is very very easy to flight for me--I have no problem hitting bombs or long, low stingers with it. It truly is a joy to play--I have never had such confidence in a head before. I know Stew has extensive experience with multiple shafts and weight configurations on these...personally I would go with a stable shaft with good feel then modify the trajectory with head weighting if need be. The only reason I am switching shafts is that the Fubuki 70S just doesn't allow me to swing as hard as I would like. If it were an X it would be great.
  20. Boy I didn't want to spend the money for a FW80 but am so glad I did. Anti Left, stable, feel, huge kick, feels like every single iota of energy gets transferred to the ball. I feel like a tour player when I hit my 3W now! They do pop up used occasionally and might be palatable for you at used price. It was my first foray into the 80T stuff and its the only shaft hype I have ever bought into and actually been impressed relative to expectations. FWIW I don't think the Fubuki Alpha is a hook prone shaft. It is much more stable than the original. Sucker is long too.
  21. I LOVE the Nowon feel but they wear fast especially if you put a couple wraps of tape underneath them. I have a lot of thumb pressure on my trailing hand on the grip and it wears a spot in them pretty quick. Where it is in my fingers it wears fine though. I really need to focus on not putting so much pressure on my thumb.
  22. I love the KPX...it is a really different head and is super long, low spin, anti left, and sounds/feels great to me. Very penetrating trajectory. Seems to be a driver that higher SS players love and lower SS players find to be average. I haven't had many JDM drivers but I did greatly prefer it to the Ryoma V Spec for my swing. Lower launching and longer, and just as straight for me.
