  1. I currently have a 50g shaft in the Cally X-proto driving iron I'm using, and love the light feel. I ordered the Yonex Zero from Tario earlier this week though, and may experiment there after I try the 85 it comes with. Thanks again. I always look forward to your shaft reviews.
  2. Thanks for posting this, wmc. I have one coming to me to test in my irons vs. the Project-X's I'm currently using, which tend to feel heavy sometimes for me late in rounds, and I definitely prefer lighter shafts in hybrids. May give that a try, too.
  3. Ordered the Yonex 18*. Looking forward to it.
  4. Man, that Yonex looks sweet. Might have to try that vs. my Cally X-Proto's... ;=]
  5. I have a Yururi Nantetsu for sale in the BST forum. It's mint, hardly been used, with a UST-ff shaft.
  6. I see you use a lot of Miura irons. The Miura HB3 hybrids are almost 1 3/4" in depth and, for me, are the best hybrids I've ever hit. Long, smooth, no ballooning.
  7. Once again, you have a way with words, Tario. I'm more of a feel than numbers guy, and I always "ping" woods, too, to "listen" to them. Sound at impact is a big part of the feel of a club for me. Interestingly, my wife, who is a composer with perfect pitch, tells me the notes they make, and it turns out the driver-wood combinations I always end up liking produce perfect harmonics... <g> Can't wait to see if this is the 3-wd that finally knocks my old R7 out of the bag after all these years... My order is in!
  8. So you guys have the new S-Yard fairways in hand?
  9. Agree, that's a beauty. Any chance of a 64* on that one...?
  10. That's interesting. Part of what I didn't like about the Yururi Nantetsu was the horizontal milling. I don't know if it's specific to that putter face, but I found it was so grabby that a stroke which would normally produce the best forward roll would actually drive the ball down into the ground causing excessive bounce. It WAS great for putting side spin on the ball, if that's your style.
  11. Man, that's pretty! My Yamada was just delivered to him today -- can't wait!
  12. I know what you mean... ;=] You been traveling lately? I've missed your posts.
  13. Thanks, maybe another time -- the putter has been sold.

  15. Speaking of its look at setup, wait until you see it sitting on grass in front of you on the first tee you take it to. Part of what I so enjoy about it is that you somehow can't quite see it fully -- ever -- I maintain it's a stealth bomber. And it's addictive -- each time I hit it, I can't wait to hit it again.
  16. Very much looking forward to what Kobayashi-san will be releasing through S-Yard.
  17. Chris, Do you know of anyone or anyplace in the Los Angeles area that offers the kind of quality fitting experience you describe here? Thanks. --Richard
  18. My Yamada is on the way now, Tario. Should be delivered on Friday. Can't wait. ;=]
  19. Can any of you guys compare these shafts with PXi 's? Sounds like they might be a little higher trajectory...? Also, Blader, can you tell me who your fitter "Goodsie" is and where he's located? I'm in S.Cal as well. Thanks so much. --Richard
  20. It's Yururi's "raw" finish, same as their raw wedges if you've seen those. Best description is here on the site. If you select Yururi from the brands at left, then choose the putter. PS. I don't live somewhere as humid as f1 does, so I don't know about the rust he mentions... but it's a raw head, meant to be that way, which is part of what gives it its great feel.

  23. I'm happy for all who have (or will have) found happiness with the new Maxima driver, but my quiet S-Yard smiles continue to spread at my club. Yesterday on 17, which is slightly uphill and has an undulating fairway with a ravine and a giant oak that sits at the end between fairway and green, I hit a pipeline drive 290 yards that sat dead center at the end of the fairway and left me a pitching wedge to the green. I should say, I don't hit 290-yd drives. My average is about 250-260. And when I turned back to the rest of my foursome on the tee -- and also to our club pro who happened to be there because he was giving another member a lesson -- the expression on their silent faces was something that will last as imagery for me a long, long time -- as was the pro's question -- "what's the name of that driver...?" Just sayin'... ;=]
