Drivers and shafts can both contribute to spin. Spin is good, it creates carry through backspin. Side-spin is obviously bad and you can try to counter it through a low spin head or shaft but that will only really be contained through a lesson/swing improvements. I believe that everyone that always looks for low spin heads and shafts when they don't have the swing speed, launch characteristics and backspin for their swingspeed go about it the wrong way. I think there are charts out there from trackman on what your optimal launch conditions are for your swingspeed (i.e. if you swing 90mph, your launch angle should be 16 or 17* with spin around 2500, etc. If you swing 100mph, its around 14* for launch angle with similar or lower backspin). So, if you swing 105mph and are ballooning it at 17* with 3000rpm in backspin, low launch and low spin is what you are looking at. If you are 90mph and getting 9* launch and 1500rpm backspin, you can afford a higher launch/higher spinning driver and combo. Just my .02.
