RomaRo 2014 Chapter 2 Driving Iron
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
they are barely landing this week, it's gonna be some time. Mine is in the air, a handful of TSG'ers have theirs on the way. Then it's gotta be hit and outside of the honeymoon period the better. -
It's exclusive for Srixon, It's same as the 950 but they added more weight near the butt end. NSPro is tweaking a bunch of models for OEM's this year like PRGR, Yamaha, and Srixon etc..

Some happy TSG'ers - Many Thanks to Gold's!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
It's custom, from refinishing, new face milling, weighting, specs, inserts, the cost doesn't need to be that high either it depends on what the custom requests, we have some walk away at 175.00 for a fresh new finish other spend 3k and go wild. -
A lot has been mentioned about PRGR recently and their new product technology in their RS series of woods and irons and today I'd like like to put the spotlight on their new Forged CB called the iD Nabla RS Forged. It's not your normal forged cavity back, Made by Endo it's got a lot of new features never done before, the body is forged of S25C, not the usual Endo S20C but it's fase is ES235 maraging steel which is interesting, this was done because it makes for a hotter face and more distance. it's got a tall neck section that rises high to a sharp rounded toe. Some of you may remember a material known as Alpha Gel used by not only PRGR but Epon as well with the 502 series, similar tech is TourStage using turbo rubber in the old ViQ series and even in the upcoming Bridgestone releases. The purpose of this absorbing type rubber is to mute feel and you will see it in irons that either have a cavity or a 2 piece construction for more distance, the bottom line is 1 piece forged feel is unmatched and by putting on a stainless steel face for more distance you gain a high pitch tink type of sound and harsh feedback through the hands. What is unique about this vibration absorbing rubber and it's use in this particular iron is it has been injected behind the entire face in a thin yet very large cavity that separates the soft forged S25C body from the ES235 maraging steel face which in my hitting of the new RS Forged feels surprisingly muted yet hot if that makes any sense. The end result is a cavity back that is not only long but very forgiving ( due to big internal cavity ) but also rewardingly different in it's soft muted feel. It's strong lofted with a 45* lofted PW and also features a cut away sole that PRGR claims reduces turf drag and works as a secondary cavity for more forgiveness, I call it PRGR's version semi speed slot but not sure if it has a real tangible effect. Overall I'm surised how forgiving, long and good feeling this iron is and while it's not 100% forged 1 piece it's definitely prices fairly as you are getting what is probably the most tech packed iron made at Iron of any brand. The top line, offset, shape all lends itself to not only forgiveness but low to mid capper appeal, when looking down at it everything is hidden and you can't tell your play a tech packed iron, for that I give it high praise in it's performance to size ratio. It's easy to look at clean and simple from looking down at it yet when you flip it around it looks high tech although a bit busy from the cavity side. Base set is 5-PW with optional #4 iron available with 3 types of steel shafts XP95 S200, S200, and PRGR NSPRO Ver.2 Steel with flexes up to SX but it also features a unique dedicated fully 1 piece forged S25C wedge in black with PRGR's herringbone patented milling. So who would I suggest this for? well considering that plus handicap PRGR JPGA tour players are using it the low capper need not worry, it can also appeal imo to the 20 handicapper who want's something forgiving, long while still on the compact side of things.

I will try it out on mine later today and report back. No Nabla has models for everyone, Nabla Black, Nabla Tour etc... You need to try an Egg1 or the RS01, both are your type of club. I would say Egg1 more so.

RomaRo 2014 Chapter 2 Driving Iron
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Just came out, a few head only purchases. I ordered with steel 25* -
You need not struggle, nearly the same % of golfers don't hit a 3 wood perfect off the deck either. I don't think this would help the average golfer or the mid capper at all. It's just another cool offering that imo stands out above the rest. Absolutely it's for the better player. Whatever the case your right that the extra volume allows them to use different materials, Forged Cup Face is bonus! I mean USDM drivers don't offer this due to price so I'm always happy to see it no matter what it's in.

Bridgestone 2015 LIMITED J15MB!

Tourstage was smart they let stock run dry before launching bridgestone so that there was less to blow out. -
Forum Member Special 489.00 Shipped on the Brassy Head Only Baldo - Tourist Trophy - Evangelist Japan Products. It's an interesting play on words none of which I think have been used before in golf and on that topic of new and interesting it's been a long time since a dedicated driving wood besides the driver has been released, Introducing the Baldo BRASSY. Brassy: 1881 Robert Forgan first wrote in The Golfers Handbook The "Brassy Spoon" is a recent invention and bids fair to be a useful one. Being furnished with a "brass-sole" it is stronger than an ordinary spoon, and may, therefore, be employed in a more difficult ground where the Cleek would otherwise be necessary. It's basically a small beastly driver with a 255cc head volume, square face, 210g head weight, 10g weight in the toe 4g in the heel to promote a fade as Baldo believes the player who would use this may have an inside out swing path. The Baldo Brassy is made like a driver and priced like one as well, coming in head only retailing for about 550 with a Forged Titanium Cup Face it's designed you to help crush balls down the center with it's face depth that is twice the height of a normal 13.5 spoon. You can play this at any length they leave it to your preference, I would personally go for a full 45" on this thing or just a hair shorter, good club if you have extra shaft pulls around. While we have not put it through it's paces yet we do hope to soon but based on how it looks, it's materials, and design specs it looks to be a club off the tee that will produce a reliable and steady shot which Baldo says will equal the distance of your current driver.

TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
It's available now, sold quite a few already. In pro shop next week. If you need one please send an email to [email protected] we are also building them with custom shafts. -
TSG clubworks can CNC mill new grooves in confirming or non, add milling marks, refinish, copper under layer, Raw face/plated body and special types of paint fill if need be. Some wedges are worth the $$$ and upgrade, I think the 208's do.

I ordered it to show off what's possible with the Yoro MP-15 Irons not because I need it as I've got clubs up the ying yang and really don't need anymore so it's to shoot photos of and to talk about really. But to answer your question. W sole is the combo of a couple of grinds, the trailing and leading edge grind and similar to wedges they function the same way, leading edge grind is good for softer conditions or people who find they dig or come in steep and need that killed leading edge, trailing edge in irons is a bit different than in wedges it creates less interaction with the turf but also allows for a fraction more workability. None of it really necessary but I figured why not If I'm ordering to show what can be done minus well max these puppies out. The good thing about Yoro vs say Buchi is that Yoro will not be overly drastic in the mods that it will hurt the original and intended design, so with Yoro you can go all out and feel safe it won't have as much as a negative effect.
