  1. All 3 Fujimoto Gikoh irons Believer, Believer II, and Adject have very similar setup when you look down at it. Nice minimal offset and compact top line. Each performs well, actually very similar to each other, the differences in feel are minimal which makes it hard to choose. I think my favorite is the Adject but the Believer CB looks better in the cavity to me. Here are top line pics: Adject: Believer CB: Believer MB
  2. It's all Cast! 100% These blades have been around for nearly 2 years. While I do like the shapes of many of the clubs they make, we have had customers that buy them thinking they are forged (they look like the forged type) and get upset it's cast. The castings feel and look good but the use of prototype bugs me ( these are not protos ) and they re use designs like no one else. If you like the look and shape of this MB go with the Honma TW717M, similar shape but forged.
  3. I love Super Newing balls! TourStage/Bridgestone makes the best balls imo. Yes even better than Titleist. Some of you may remember Bridgestone Japan's lawsuit against Titleist on the ProV1 and ProV1x. They won. I play Newing balls with better results than I play the fancy X01 balls, I do really like the V10 balls too, I think a little more than the Newing. I'm surprised the Newing balls hold up to stews swing, I have a friend who is a scratch player who swings 103mph and launch monitor shows the newing actually increases spin more than most balls which is why people love them so much in Japan. Spin is good in some cases Stew you try the X01 and the X01Z? I have not yet but remember them requiring beast mode to gain advantage on them. We will get the new balls into the proshop soon. Don't forget Mizuno balls, big improvement over when they first started.
  4. Thinking about driver welds, materials and thickness vs club head velocity, There are welds on areas we hit on a drivers face and all around the head. Anyway just another offering on TSG guys. The looks are it's biggest flaw I agree totally but I don't see the weld being an issue.
  5. This is the first time I have seen this myself. Endo does something similar but its not vertical or over the impact zone like these. Many top irons use 4 welds with thinner walls using lighter weaker materials (multi piece design) should they not shatter if this was the case? Miura's would shatter at the neck weld, the neck is technically the weakest area in most irons, they also shouldn't feel as good as they do if it were an issue. The iron breaking in two is as probable as a Miura cracking or an Epon shattering, maybe less probable. As someone who hits a ton of JDM gear I can tell you that if you hit these irons and didn't know about the weld you would think it feels great, and is more forgiving than it appears. I'd love to stress test all these things but I trust the manufactures (FG, Miura, Endo) know how to make an iron that doesn't fall apart. That said these are not getting a spot in my bag based on looks alone but based on performance they easily could.
  6. Muso is awesome, I only hit one of the shafts and they were out of spec for me but it went really well especially for the price. It's legit and a brand made by Geotech, also ranked very high in the 2014 shaft bible.
  7. Full post is on GTI Eccentric designs, interestingly they all sit flat and balance on the sole which many irons don't, they all have very deep cavities that can't be seen at address.
  8. Well for a face this thin I would say no more than 100mph. I'm sure it can handle more and in many cases not crack at all but better safe than sorry imo. Worth noting is the parent co of Geotech is one of the biggest golf manufactures in the world. That said they don't exclusively use that manufacturer as they have a wide range of products from many makers, the quality of their core product line especially Titanium woods is as good as many of the popular name brands but at a lower price.
  9. Please teach us more about how and why this is laughable. I'd love to understand your logic and expertise in this subject.
  10. TourSpecGolfer replied to aberdeenlad's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Everyone will just post what their own favorite drivers are so I suggest posting info about your swing. Age Handicap Driver swing speed Transition aggressive or smooth Swing tempo What your current drivers pros and cons are What you want from a new one
  11. This Believer iron has a unique attribute that makes it easier to hit, They cut the iron heads in half, add a heavier material within then weld it together before the finishing and grooves are pressed.
  12. Yes way too busy but don't forget our influence on these sorts of things, Epon was was also once busy with "Epon Technity Type-X Forged by Endo Product" until we created the current logo concept and model names, same with Buchi until the global models were created. Some brands we have no disclosure agreement with, others if you look closely you may be able figure it out :)
  13. This Type-R driver and the Modart MA01S are my personal current favorite drivers out.
  14. Thank you for making such a proper listing, pics are great! GLWS!
  15. We are working on a sticky for the ultimate guide to JDM golf Tokyo Edition. If you do a search in the forum you will also be able to find some info as this is a popular question. That said if you see something you like in Japan we can beat any price at any shop on new gear provided its delivered to a hotel and or to a foreigner on travel.
  16. Its coming July 10th, Looks outstanding, it's like the RE14 Alpha but the limited edition version has a cool new finish and a thinner face which they QA tested using a special microscope. Not suggested for faster swingers as the face may break but other than that it looks pretty sweet.
  17. This week I will be highlighting a new brand here at TSG known as Believer which is produced by a small family factory in Himeji Japan called Fujimoto Gikoh. The brand has a pretty gothic look to the designs, heavy on the stamping characters but we are working with them on this. The 3 main things that strike me most about all of their irons is first the forgiveness they are all more forgiving than they appear, second is the setup even the bigger irons had thin top lines and just the right amount of offset and lastly feel, this S25C feels different is it the design or the metal? I think both. So today we are starting with their Neo-Blade Design, it has the setup of a larger sized blade or a compact players cavity yet it packs in the feel of a pure MB. More info to come, I have only hit these demo irons to decide if we should carry these on TSG, after hitting them it's an easy yes. Enjoy the pics and more to come tomorrow...
  18. Ah the modus3, great feel and smooth for steel but sometimes the ball can get away from you especially in wind. I'm re ordering my CB358 with KBS C-Tapers, I know they may not feel as good but it's windy on my home track blowing 30mph today. I've had a set with Roddio i9's and on a non windy day I could swing smooth and get tight tight results, good on my back and joints but in wind, man, my score couldn't take it anymore. We have Shingo to thank for that, ya know just throwing this out there I could have these irons stripped and the top lines rounded then refinished in whatever you want. expensive and time consuming but unique. We would have to weight the hosel a bit due to the lost weight.
  19. It's coming along :)
  20. Many are ordering the #4 iron from the 2013 onoff forged to solve this.
  21. Insert time, originally we had planned for that octogonish rectangular insert but it was too large for such a small face so Master Sasaya suggested the oval insert.
  22. Just posted my thoughts at GTI. Wondering how you guys like yours after some time with them.
  23. Should be working now guys, sorry about that.
  24. Next step is drilling holes for the weights.
