  1. 202HT is severely underrated. Get the HT. The normal model is a pain unless off of the tee. But still for me the latest Gen Egg is still my favorite by a wide margin of course attached with a Crazy FW-80. I'm getting my Egg HD this week with a Fubuki then putting the FW-80 in it. Expecting that one to be a monster!
  2. Borrowed money and lack of focus where they consistently create, manufacture, and stock a complete line up from drivers to putters from the very beginning. A more conservative route should have been taken starting with a focus on putters, then wedges until they were profitable before moving on to everything else.
  3. Expect the rebirth of one of the most amazing putting brands here on TSG.
  4. G-Field...r.i.p Love his designs just cant get over the name and logo.
  5. Would you guys like us to offer the complete line up here at TSG?
  6. while it sounds fun and is a good program as Tario mentioned it was a fair amount of work for just 3 drivers. I can easily picture 20+ clubs floating around at any single moment so the person who is keeping track of all this would have to be commited in seeing things through till the very end. Now lets say this person gets injured or goes on an extended leave, the demo system stops dead in its tracks and then we would have to have all clubs returned, refund deposits and stop the system. It's not good for TSG to announce, promote and setup a system and then IF the person who was in charge of it decides meh, I don't wanna do this anymore decides to stop it makes TSG look flakey. Im not closed to this, I just want the person who is in charge to understand it will take consistent effort and organization. Of course we can compensate that person for running it smoothly over various periods of time for their work. iPhone/ Android app is out of the question due to cost and updating. So understanding that who would like to volunteer to keep track of things? What do you suggest as a deposit amount? Should it be a different amount for iron/wedges vs drivers?
  7. If someone can organize it and keep it rolling not only will we create a closed forum but also a registration page, escrow or paypal account and throw in thousands of dollars in demo clubs. What we have had issues with in the past is keeping track of who has what, who's next, and where it all ends up.
  8. Omg! I just looked up who this guy inpresX was... I forgot who we were talking about. He was looking for a HCR club under 200 bucks, only buys clone irons and did in fact question the authenticity of our clubs. We've been had. Below are his insightful comments from last week: I play clone irons heads made by gigagolf and get exactly the same performance out of them as the expensive brands. Irons are really just blocks of milled steel and there's been little advances in technology in recent years. Anybody can forge or cast a block of steel and mill it out. The reason I want a 2005 hi cor driver is because that was the last year that they were legal and even the pros were using them. Post 2005 hi cor models are just niche products made for cheaters.
  9. This has actually turned into a really good thread! I didn't read that the guy is implying this. Is this true? If we sold a single fake we would be shut down in a heart beat and not to mention have zero direct relations with Japanese companies or U.S for that matter. Remember that website R11golf the one that looked like a TSG rip off well we got together with a whole bunch of U.S oems to shut them down. It was pretty neat. RI is correct that taxation plays a huge part in this so does output. Endo Niigata is small compared to Endo Thailand. I've been in 4 foundries and even if you go to the source information is never quite clear. Although we share a lot of info here on TSG there is some we can't mention... unless you come to the golf show in Tokyo and buy me a dozen beers then maybe one will leak.
  10. OEM = Official Equipment Manufacturer What you play are JDM OEMs. Really there are only two separate major golf markets. USDM ( United States Domestic Market ) also known as the Global Market & then there is JDM ( Japan Domestic Market ) Obviously JDM has the best of both worlds as they include all global models and on top of that special Japan only models.
  11. I'd love him here for that reason. We can educate him as he is clearly ignorant on the issue. It seems its as if he heard that not all JDM clubs were made in Japan and said OMG!!! I better tell everyone online! All the while this has been common knowledge for knowledgeable TSG members. What's even more telling is that he goes and posts it on a board where people know less about JDM vs posting it where he could actually learn more about JDM. We've been noticing an uptick of people who either don't like JDM, TSG or simply can't afford the product saying all sorts of wild things from Epon forges Miura, Mitsubishi makes Crazy, and now this...lol It shows we're growing as more bone heads slip in. Not to worry Tario & I will keep this place for the true JDM enthusiasts.
  12. This is old news, ive been playing JDM clubs that are not made in Japan for years. nothing controverseal about this at all. I buy Japanese technology, design, and often materials and expect to pay a higher price for that no matter where it's made. I wish every OEM could afford Endo and in recent we only see brands top models manufactured there. Tario and I have been inside the Endo factory before much of the production was moved to Thailand and we can't tell the difference. It's because nothing has changed, the raw materials are imported from Japan, the higher level engineers are from Japan, so are the top QC staff. To me being made by Endo period is that it's being made by a Japanese brand with JDM quality. Most importantly the InpresX poster seems to generalize that because its made in China it should be the same price as other clubs made in China. That's obviously flawed logic for so many reasons. R&D costs for many JDM brands are much higher than other OEMs not only because their parent companies often span across the automotive, raw materials and even the space industry but because it costs a lot more to create new technology for golf clubs in tooling then the actual production. It's as simple as looking at the differences between the tech most usdm brands use vs the tech JDM brands use. If InpresX was correct about that golf clubs would never get watered down before heading to the rest of the world from Japan for the sole reason of costs. Another important factor is take many popular OEMs manufactured in China then Assembled in Japan vs China vs USA. Not only the assembly is better in Japan but the QC and tolerance is as well. Here's the most important aspect to all this, JDM is Japan Domestic Market and that's what we educate and offer others. What InpresX shares is not new info. We know what brands are made where and no not all Srixon or Yamaha clubs are made in Japan so he shouldn't claim that unequivocally either. Simply look at what's in your average global model driver then look at its price. Then look at what many JDM clubs have inside or what they are made of and compare. That's what we are getting an often distinct difference in tech and design and of course we expect to see a price difference for that.
  13. I'm thinking of going graphite as well. I just don't know what graphite shafts to play. So far my best have been Roddio & Crazy, I'm open to trying something different this time. looking for heavier.
  14. I understand your general point butif you think this way why would you be surprised about this? If you think these are a set of updated hogans because they have a channel I don't know what else to say. Voodoo magic isn't exclusive to JDM gear or Yamaha or TM or even the Golf Industry. it's called marketing and new product release and there are still tangible developments in tech, design & performance even today. Physics? please tell us about the physics of both these sets of irons outside of that they look similar. With all due respect i feel The point your making is vague and generalized and it also applies to just about anything from cavity backs to answer putters to wedges and on and on. I suggest you hit both sets built to the same specs side by side then tell us your thoughts on feel, forgiveness, trajectory, dispersion, and distance.
  15. Metal on stick, swing swing ball go good golf fun! Ball white round, small vroom vroom to next field. Yes physics are physics and each iron has different physics. When generalized CBs are the same as blades as well. Hunks of metal. Steak is meat, diamonds are Shimmery stone, watch tells time, car is motor 4 wheels and seat. Everything is different especially performance due to the changes in design. Golf equipment has grown a lot in the last 5 years, if your critical you can see improvements even in the last 1-2 years.
  16. Depends on what you mean by similar, that they have channel then yes but so have many. everything else is totally different about it.
  17. They are done. no more. should have took the butterfly..
  18. Crazy Toyoshima's without a doubt.
  19. No I sold it. Wish I kept it, such a nice putter.
  20. Myself, Tario, Tatsuro & TourSpecGirl have all watched Crazy Shafts being hand made in their factory from start to finish. In fact I believe 4-5 members from this forum have seen that factory as well right next to their HQ after a fitting.
  21. RomaRo really has so many products that are outstanding. Here's their new Alcobaca wedge.
  22. I'm playing this exact putter right now, same center shaft. I love it! considering sending it to Sasaya for some mods, it really doesn't need it I just want to tinker.
  23. I felt the current ONOFF forged irons feel a bit softer/better than the RomaRo Ray V. however I do like the way the Ray V sets up over the ONOFF.
