  1. Hands Down the Tour PRGR is the better club. Keep in mind it has a shallow face but if you like that IMO its the BEST shallow face FW available today.
  2. What will be the max legal C.O.R for a driver?
  3. TC-1000 Fourteen's new player cavity back model the TC-1000 has had excellent reviews in all the leading Japanese golf magazines, most noted for its super soft feel I cant wait to give them range time against the new 550 tomorrow morning. The 550 has had excellent reviews also and I can see why, both models incorporate some classic time tested features as seen in such classics as the MR-23's, 300 Forged and many others while introducing fourteens quality manufacturing and materials into one hard to beat package. They both don't have the thinnest top line or the least amount of offset but each has its own special way about them. If your in the market for a sweet sweet set of Forged CB's look no further. TC-550
  4. I have a set on the way to try out, I am no compact blade player but I am intrigued by others saying it feels super soft.
  5. Guys the new Miura MB-5003 is getting killer reviews from pro golfers in the Japanese golf mags. They say its Miura's softest iron ever.
  6. Its not only Scratch who re stamps non original designs but also Zodia uses the EK model.
  7. No Sir, the XXIO is cast and produced elsewhere.
  8. After the enamel surface was applied to the concrete floors we drilled some holes into the cement where the bolts would hold the grip n rip and loft/lie/face bender stable as can be. I started to move in some of my craftsman tables, we also removed the old laminate i had glued to the table top as protection. I applied a heavy duty adhesive and purchased some cheap vinyl for new added protection.
  9. VERY informative interview. After reading the part about a tighter grain structure by pressing without the hosel I had to ask technicians at 2 factories to verify this and unfortunately none agreed. One of the technicians actually learned forging at Miura many years ago. I was told that the merit of welded hosel's is for precision, If there are two part bodies (main body and hosel) the main is very easy to make with a very accurate Loft, Lie and WEIGHT. Most of the Japanese big companies request tight target weights with plus or minus one gram so the spin welded method of production is almost prefect in this regard. The Demerit is that the hosel is longer than others so the sweet spot of head moves toward neck area and in most cases compensation or an increase in size out near the toe plus reduction of weight closer to the neck is needed to balance things out. Another opinion I heard was that this is the reason they stick with players cavity backs and blades. Whatever the case Miura product rocks due to minimal output they can really provide a critical level of attention to detail, I just found it interesting Mr. Holowaty didn't mention the most well known reason's spin welded hosel's are used. Also what was left out is that Miura Drivers, Fairway woods, and Utility woods are indeed made in Taiwan.
  10. Its interesting how it plays out but shafts really do make a difference in feel, Find a shaft that you have tried in a soft iron feel you enjoy and insert that into the Epon to see if anything changes. The better a shaft fits you or your swing profile the better it should feel. That said not all shafts that you hit well will have a better feel. If it don't work out then you may want to try a different set of clubs.
  11. The program was changed recently and the link removed. if you need any info please e-mail [email protected]. Mizuno has changed the custom stamping options available.
  12. They changed the entire program. Its quite different now with new stamping options. Please e-mail [email protected] for more information.
  13. Part 2: I looked for a basic handyman on crags list to do the install work for me, I wasn't about to mess things up myself to save a few bucks. I found Charles a great guy who was willing to measure cut and install the slat wall, apply an enamel protective surface and bolt my club making gear into the concrete for 600 bucks. We needed to make sure he cut the proper holes for the lighting and switches, the enamel surface treatment is a 3 step application i purchased at home depot, it can even be tinted in a custom color with or without glitter effect. I went with the standard silver/gray with glitter to match the walls. It will be another 3 days until the surface will cure and we can start drilling, stay tuned.
  14. Cool Design is a brand, PRGR is helping in the manufacturing and distribution of the product.
  15. I have decided to turn my empty garage into a club making room and thought it may be a process worth documenting for our members. I start with an empty 3rd car garage and the goal of creating a very open and functional space with nice lighting and great ventilation. When planning the process I decided to use slat wall as it's an effective way to hold clubs minimizing the possibility of damage or dings. Slat wall accessories also allow you to hold just about anything like ferrules, liquids, etc and keep an organized yet attractive style in the room. In this case the slat wall was covered with a Wilson Art brushed pewter look laminate. Its simply cut to size and screwed into the studs in the wall. Below are pics pre construction, over the process I will keep this thread updated every step of the way until complete.
  16. I had 2 of these made guys and one is for sale. The FF shaft seems to make the head feel heavy. This putter has a 365-370 gram head as is already. I also requested deep milling marks. As for performance I have only had practice putting and 1 round but I haven't noticed a tin feeling. Seems muted and soft with this head. Just drop me a pm guy's if your interested in the backup copy of this putter.
  17. Not all of them but I did confirm the CNC Gekku CB is a Kyoei made club.
  18. I just found out Kyoei makes this Yururi blade, its 95% the same but the leading edge is a bit different guys. hope that helps, I would guess its the same performance.
  19. We provide a few services for some Japanese OEM's that unfortunatley I am not allowed to talk about.
