  1. Hey claus, being your now a frequent member here please allow me to make some bag suggestions to you based from what you have said in posts and that you are a techie. I see your using Sonartec / Bridgestone clubs upgrade to RC / Tourstage test them both in a shaft you know you like and see what your heart desires more. I would actually suggest the new SF206 over anything RC has put out in the last year including the H2 FW. Also keep in mind tourstage X-models are for pro level players while bridgestone is geared toward the majority of average golfers. The X-UT is a low flying open faced steel headed 455 miraged faced monster that is rather demanding when compared to your bridgestones. the new RC Hybrid just released is supposed to be another hot club and you may see it late 2007 as a sonartec model. GFT and Z-Steel are other hot hot clubs right now also some golfers are loving hte mizuno JPX with a shaft change, some guys that almost buy everything swear by it. Another trend in recent on the PGA and JPGA tour is playing hybrids more upright and getting the lie angle on drivers adjusted. Im sure you like the Tour Dass head but DASS and GSS shouldnt be so darn expensive as its simply heat treated SUS303 or SUS304. Imo bettinardi is in need of a new face insert or milling design, across the board ( and I am a former JPN bett collector ) they feel crisp and clicky at impact, on the mitchell putter fitting studio they have more skips off the start than Yes, ASGI, and other mid tier putters. Honey comb is cool and all but the feel and roll is sorta outdated, Dont forget to get your lie and loft adjusted on your putter, makes all the difference to your putting game, many people play what specs putters come stock in and let me tell you lots of times they are not the same specs they state they are. If your using a 2.5 loft now try a 4* loft to test side by side, may not be for you but it will teach you a bit and give you some reference on the topic. Premium zone, golds factory, TM Rsi, Hiro Matsumoto, and a few others will give you a softer feel at impact, the premium zone on video provides a roll equal to a yes putter but feels softer and more rewarding. Gotta try some of the soft quality forged Japanese irons with the specs you play in your current set, lie, loft, length, swing weight etc.. this way you can put them up against what you play now and notice the difference. Oh yeah and as a fellow techie may i suggest a samsung or sony 1080P TV and some sort of HD-DVD or Blueray device. use pure HDMI to keep it 100% digital with no conversion from analog. Great thing is that most of these new 1080P players upconvert your 480 DVD's to 720P/1080i. As custom fitting is important to golf it is important to ultra high def TV's it runs abuot 300 but your TV looks more crisp by having a pro come by and configure it. Not sure if this stuff is even available in your neck of the woods but im sure you wil LOOOOVE it as I do. Difference is huge!
  2. I currently own these drivers ZR-600 10.5 with PT-6 Mizuno MP425 Craft 10.5 w/ Quad 6 Tourstage X-Drive 460 10.5 w/ DREV ICN Tour Epon 460 w/ Axiv 6564M TM R7 460 w/ stock shaft Fourteen JC-606 w/ stock shaft The epon is by far the best with the fourteen and X-Drive tied for 2nd place. Highest ball speed is the ZR-600.
  3. Then i must update my opinion as well... Driver: Epon Woods: G-Field, Srixon, Mizuno Utility:G-Field, PRGR, Fourteen Iron: Mizuno, Epon, Srixon, Tourstage Wedges: Epon Putter: G-Field, Mizuno Japan, Golds Factory
  4. Epon has a full set, bag to woods to wedges called lepon for women only. its rather expensive but sweet not sure if thats the sort if high end stuff he wants to get her as a newbie to the sport. Thanks, Chris
  5. I voted GFT, second place would be the Srixon Z-Steel. Word around is that Japan simply didnt want USA to sell the Z-Steel. The GFT is all around a great performer, we do have the sonartec line also and can do custom face and lie angles for you. Sorry to say but if you havent purchased the 460P yet you are SOL, only 1000 made and not every shop is getting one in Japan. we have 3 secured but those are all sold already. 1000pcs of a driver that hot is almost nothing. This is not Maru wedge rare its 10 times harder to get than that ever was.
  6. The ViQ's offset is perfect with me, still minimal imo. With all 3 sets i rate the type J ahead and beyond in the feel and setup deparment, the PRO-II has the same type J feel in the short irons but the long feel just a tad softer than the type X. The ViQ2 has the most forgiving long irons and feels really nice at impact because their is no undercut and it is premium endo forged. Type J is in a different class, its in the true players CB range like the CB-1006 and the Fourteen 770 Forged. The ViQ 2, Pro II, and Srixon ZR600 are for the good player yet one who is looking for somthing less demanding. To answer your question claus, born and raised in Hawaii, lived in Japan for four years and return twice a year. The only thing i love more than golf is travel, Europe was pure bliss for me, tuff due to the lack of technology and loads of red tape but by far has the most beautiful sites in the world. here are the PRO-II's
  7. No one does, the brand is pretty much new and is still in its infant stages when compared to whats on tour. Imagine if they can do this now what they will be up to in the future.
  8. Is it time for more smileys? I love this driver also, anyone that doesnt has either the wrong shaft or a different taste in what feels good, which is all good. I will say that Tourstage is really showing gold this year, I have purchased over 10 different drivers since picking up the epon both JDM and U.S domestic none of them have come close. The only two that got near were the ViQ Deep and the Fourteen JC606, im hoping to test out the MP craft and Tourstage X-Drive 460 this weekend. I give props to Tourstage and Mizuno with the long metal hosel on their woods i can bend the face angles with less stress. now who is ready to see the epon utility woods? rumor has it a high MOI driver is on the horizon for mid 2007 also and somthing for the ladies called " LEPON " :tsg_smilie_confused:
  9. I built a set of soft stepped stiff flex ViQ2's for P1 im glad he is happy with them, these are the only irons that have put up a serious fight against my type J's, also the Srixon ZR-600's were awesome too, imo very similar to the VIQ2 but the feel just isnt as pure. Im now hitting the Epon PRO-II irons and loving it, just wish there wasnt an undercut in the long irons as it hurts the feel factor, other than that they are almost as pure as the type J, just a hair bigger and very forgiving for my game. I too feel that miura irons are a bit more firm than others. Hey Claus, wish i met you several months ago as I was in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Slovakia, Croatia, London, Paris, Scotland etc..etc.. etc.. for over a year. I will be back to the EU once or twice in 2007, i would love to get together and play a round with you or plus1. problem is i have a mental block on links courses. worse scores ever!
  10. When using a deep face club tee height is critical imo. I just measured the XD 460 vs the EPON with a digital caliper EPON: 56.5 mm X-Drive: 56.7 mm The Epons hitting area looks bigger. They are both made by ENDO but the Epon feels better at impact imo.
  11. Yup this driver is a low handicap club, neutral weighting, adjustable face angle, and 425cc's is how i came to that conclusion.
  12. Yes I have several in stock with several deals pending. The Quad shafts are considered high end and solid performers, lots of Japanese OEMs are making premium shafts so their players can endorse the shaft and driver together.
  13. Available now Ari, If you want to switch up let me know asap. Its supposed to be open face -1 standard. The Design is based off of many requests for a new 300S version driver. Here is a pic for those who think domestic gear is on the same level as JDM. The long metal hosel makes bending lie and face angles easy. it was meant to be this way and you may want to do it on your own or have us do it for you. This has got to be one of the most advanced models from any brand period, look at the materials used, never heard of most of these being used in a driver. 14. Nice! looks like a solid blend of TSG and BSG! TSGSB :tsg_smilie_confused: ? hope you like the irons, dont forget to get them built to your specs!
  15. Not sure what RSI stands for but the insert is very soft at impact. the overall weight feels very solid I would guess 350 grams. Only available in Japan with a durable black finish. So many neck options for the Corza now as well, even a long version available. We have these in stock so drop me a PM when ready, most of these are under 200 bucks! 16. Mizuno has got a new driver on the market that they claim is their best ever. It is the new version of the 300S their most popular tour level player driver of all time. Its their first full Titanium forged driver and has th ability to be bent open faced or closed. you can even change the lie angle. Thank you Mizuno! Its about time you made somthing that compares to the 300S of old.
  17. We have sold quite a few of these new X-Drives, the normal versions are now available and ready to ship, you can also have a custom shaft installed by one of our clubmakers. The P series is coming out late Jan. The 460P is already sold out. Only 1000 made which makes it one of the most limited drivers in history. To bad it is a fade machine with that ultra stout shaft. Please post your review when you are able to give them a good run. Straight forward honest opinions appreciated.
  18. I was experimenting with corel draw and decided to try somthing different. its my first attempt at this sort of thing. The decal size is a little off and i will adjust them to the perfect size soon, Im able to print these out for customers if they are interested in just about any finish, carbon, metal carbon, brushed silver, and all colors under the sun. They dont come off they stay tight even in wet weather. Just somthing i thought i would share to add some flare to the sorta plain looking R7 forged. Next step is satin finish and black paint fill.
  19. Ok I got a reply back from our Japanese Honma Rep, The TW901/W902 combo is available for those interested. This is what the reply was about their materials:
  20. the TW901 was very compact imo, smaller than the EPON's feel was very nice you know it if your playing the tour worlds, very attractive iron but i was hitting more fades than i wanted with it. The S would be for the pro or scratch golfer imo. the Retail version is good for most. They are not the most forgiving irons available, but if your in love with the setup they are worth listing as an option imo.
  21. Let me find out and get back to you, Cast Forged could mean carbon steel that has been cast. Also are you interested in the S grind version of the TW901?
  22. I doubt it or they would be advertising a 410P first. the smaller heads are the hardest to sell. after the complete line up is available i doubt they will be releasing the 410P.
