Miura Putter
I have the 1957 KM350 Blade with a UST Frequency Filtered shaft. The feel is very solid, although I've been limited to putting on carpet since we still have piles of snow here...

staying behind the ball
This is a tip from Jack Nicklaus that I read in a Golf Magazine or Golf Digest article... At address, he said the buttons on your shirt should be lined up with the ball. He continued, saying that at impact, he tried to have the shirt buttons pointing well to the right of the golf ball. This will keep you from moving your head forward and also keep you from spinning out or coming out of the shot. I have really liked this drill. Only bad thing is that a lot of golf shirts don't have a collar or buttons anymore so if you're wearing a shirt like TW with the mock neck, you're kind of screwed.

Detroit Area Golf Instructor
Hey, I'm not from Michigan, but I travel to your area a lot for work. Specifically I travel to golf courses that implement a computer system that my company sells. A few guys that are customers of mine that I would reccommend are Justin Mathers at Mustic Creek in Milford. 248.684.3333 [email protected]. Glenn Busam at Boulder Pointe in Oxford. 248.969.1500 [email protected]. Larry Kuebler at The Coyote Preserve in Fenton. 810.714.3206 (don't have his email). Larry Hamilton at Oakland University in Rochester. 248.370.4150 [email protected]. Those are my suggestions for you, but take them with a grain of salt. I have never received instruction from these guys - I just know that they are good people and good at what they do. Hope this helps! ps If you give them a call you can tell them that Garth from Fore! Reservations mentioned that they might be able to help you out.

New TM Putter???
Watched a little of the LPGA Tournament of Champions last night on TGC. A couple of the ladies, including Laura Davies and Karrie Webb, were using a putter I've never seen before. Looked like it had a red insert, black body, and silver back weight. Is this the new TM putter? Anybody got some pics?

What do you drink after a round?
garth replied to Godfather1's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearAA - you are a man's man for drinking Guinness, I can't get that stuff down. My post round favorites are as follows: Rolling Rock or RR Green Light (From Latrobe - Arnie's neck of the woods) Molson Light Red Stripe Miller Lite (Brewed in Wisconsin aka greatest state ever) New Glarus Spotted Cow (If you haven't tried it, try it) Canadian Club, Clan MacGregor, Dewars, or Cutty Sark & soda Lemon Lime Gatorade (This applies only if I just got done with 18 and want to go another 18 in the afternoon)

Paintball- anyone else play?
garth replied to Sgt_Slaughter's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI played paintball once when I was in college and loved it. We went with a busload of people and just had a blast. I got blasted in the neck by one - that hurt like a son of b$#th!! Also, my girlfriend shot me on the forearm - that one hurt my ego more than it stung though. Great fun, but I don't think I could do it very often as it would cut into valuable golf time.

Is Cross Handed Dead?
I've been practicing with left hand low a lot lately - it feels really solid. Is this dead now that we've got belly putters and Stan Utley teaching the correct release of the putterhead? Am I crazy for switching?

long iron troubles
I agree with Hipcheck and scratch. Long irons are best used as gardening utensils. Stick 'em in the dirt and tie your tomato plants to them so that they grow tall and straight. Put more woods or hybrids in your bag.

Grip Positioning
Not sure if I am answering your question correctly, but from your description, it sounds like your left hand grip might be too much in the palm of your hand. Any time I'm struggling with grip issues, I find my self going back to Hogan's timeless classic - "Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf" He really details the way the club should lay in your hands...I would highly reccommend it. Hope this helps. Garth

ten finger grip
I have used the 10 finger grip for a while, but only when I'm chipping or trying to hit punch shot. I read somewhere that el Tigre does this to help him release his hands on bump and runs. It works pretty well.

Apollo Hump Shafts
I have never tried them but I know Furyk uses them in his Hogans and Vijay might be using them as well.

Yes Putters
One of my teammates in college used the cgroove putter when it used to be called Pro Gear. He had the Pro Gear Swashbuckler. He swore by it and was a pretty good putter - too bad he had Bobby Knight's temper and busted the thing over his knee. He hasn't been able to putt worth a lick since. I am pretty sure that Stuart Appleby and KJ Choi are using cgroove putters as well. See the links to Stuart's bag checks on tgc.com - couldn't find anything on KJ. http://www.thegolfchannel.com/core.aspx?pa...64&select2=6499 http://www.thegolfchannel.com/core.aspx?pa...64&select2=6209 Also, I recently read an article on Yes in Golfweek. It was kind of talking about how they don't have the supply to meet the demand after the Goose winning the US Open. Garth

Questions regaring TM wedges
I've got the raw finish racs and love them! I think they are kind of tough to get a hold of because now the FE2O3's all have the oil can look. I have 52, 56, and 60. They are glorious. As far as the feel I would say they are crisp compared to the Mizuno Faldo wedges I used to use, but I actually like the feel. They perform much better than the Faldos did from the fairway, sand, and rough. The big area where they are better is chipping and short pitches. The Faldos were so heavy that I would make a fool of myself on a shot that I should have been sticking close. The RACS just have a great weight and feel. Also, they look cool. I haven't tried the Japanese models or the forged but I'm sure they are awesome too. Hope this helps.

Whats the best wood/hybrid from the rough?
I've got the old school Fli Hi in 18 and 21 degrees. I love them! They don't look that great in the bag, but at address they are perfect! I got them for tee shots, but I have been using them around the greens for chipping, from the rough, from the fairway, and from any other junky lie I get myself into. They are great! I think you can get them pretty cheap now that they have the newer version. I've got the s300 in mine and it seems to be a good match.

staying down
I have always disliked the idea of "staying down." Even worse is when you hear someone on the range tell a beginner "keep your head down!" To me, it is the biggest swing myth in existence. I would much rather see a golfer thinking "chin up" or "head up." I'm interested to see what others think, but I feel like keeping your head down will get you in to an unathletic position where you are almost frozen at impact. I have always tried to keep my head up, so that my shoulders can turn freely under my chin. Another tip that I have always liked - since we are talking about the head here - is to keep your head behind the ball at impact. I think Nicklaus said it best when he stated that the buttons on your golf shirt should be pointed at the ball when you are at address but to the right of the ball at impact. This is going to help you approach the ball from the inside.

thoughts on this???
Yeah, Scotty definitely copied SeeMore. I interviewed with SeeMore a couple of years ago. They are based out in California, but their sales/marketing chief is in the Illinois area. They have a pretty solid idea, and a decent product line. Some players using the putter are Zach Johnson, Vaughn Taylor, and Briny Baird. I know Tom Kite and Lee Janzen have used SeeMore in the past - as well as Payne. They just haven't figured out how to make their idea aesthetically pleasing. Leave it to Scotty to make something look appealing to the eye. Lots of people might call him Scotty Copyman, but you gotta hand it to him - he knows what looks good and what sells. Sometimes, imitation is the best form of flattery.

Paddy's Putter
Anyone know what type of mallet Harrington was using today at the Buick? ps - I was really excited to watch the playoff....until America's Funniest Home Videos came on! What a bummer.
