  1. Call James at Mizuno 800-966-1211 ex. 7889. Basically I would think you need to know loft angles of each set ...all other things being equal. I have been told that mixing Mizuno sets is not always a good idea UNLESS you have custom bending to keep loft angles consistent throughout. Good Luck.
  2. Glad to hear positive opinions. I have most older sets ( MS 3, MP 4, MS 4 Paynes winning model, MS 5, MS 7 and SPLs) ...and one Custom set which I will post pics later. The Super 11s were a more modern design for me so glad they are rated so well. I hit them once and thought they were nice. All other sets are satin or chrome so the golden finish on "Super 11s" caused a mental suspicion about there caliber.
  3. Hi. I have a set of Super 11s. Does anyone know if these are a high quality Mizuno or ???? I ask because I know they make the US, Japan and European models and some designs are very similar and have different model #s on them. PICTURE - Sticky's Tour pictures shows this model - 6th page, a few items under Evolution Shaft- "Super 11" hard to read - ebay auction #7134675468 Thanks,Mark.
  4. Just picked up a set of Dunlop Seve B. blades. The shafts have pins whigh enter from one side. I have seen the sets with pins that can be pushed through when there are holes on each side but how do you deal with these when they can not be pushed through...that is if I want to put in new shafts? Thanks,Mark.
  5. Just an interesting story from ebay sale. A guy bought a driver from a seller that sells Japan items. Had a problem with it, took it to local pro shop and they said they would send to mfg. I think it was Calloway but not 100% sure. Anyway, Mfg said it was a tour piece and not available to public so it was not returned. I see tour stuff for sale all the time so this seems odd. Could be related to the tour debate. Also, the piece was not listed as "Tour" when being auctioned. True story.
  6. Just picked up a set that has Dyn. Gold and TT Dynamic shafts mixed. The step pattern is consistent. Can the avg. golfer feel difference between the two shaft types? I read somewhere that most can't notice. Any Thoughts. Thanks, Mark.
  7. Mizuno made the TN 87,91 and93. The 93 is the cavityback. Anyone ever play these ? Any Opinions ? Thanks, Mark.
  8. You cam use model paint or Rustoleum from the can. I use a tooth pick. Basically, dip pick, spread paint all over stamping, wipe with a papertowel. Use a small peice, say 4"x 4", fold into a smaller square and use an edge to wipe with. Apply light perssure and leave more rather than taking too much paint off. Letters should loog pretty good with a few rough edges. Let dry then buff with an old T shirt. T shirt is soft but offers a bit of tooth to clean edges. If stampings are shallow, you might have to wipe very lightly and do two times , allowing first application to dry before second coat is applied. Trying to paint with a tiny brush...good luck. And P towel works better than tissue.

  10. I do see the subtle difference....would like to know why they were changed in this manner. Thanks.

  12. I just picked up a set of Maruman Conductor YG heads. I am 98% sure these are forged. I was playing around and inserting shafts and realized that these require a parallel tip shaft. Is this common for some older forged sets ? Also, when setting a taper tip and parallel set side by side ( both DG 300S ) I noticed that the step patterns were not the same. Do they also differ between the two types of shafts? Last question. I have a rechromed set of 67' MacGregor VIPs with the longer hosels. How should I handle the shorter shaft problem which will effect the stiffness. Thanks,Mark.
  13. I have seen several Maxfli and Dunlop DPs ( 201, 601, 801 , 701 ect.) There are several models but they are older and not much info. Does anyone know about these? The Dunlops have "Pro Model" on them so they may be a higher quality. There was also a Dunlop set modeled after the 201 design that was a special anniversary ed forged by Miura - with the Miura on th back - was on ebay for a while. Any info about quality /caliber of these sets helpful. TO SEE SEVERAL EXAMPLES, DO A GOOGLE SEARCH FOR 'MAXFLI DP' AND YOU WILL SEE A 'CLUB LIBRARY' SITE. BEAUTIFUL CLUBS. THANKS
  14. Hey did you just get these on ebay? If so, I almost grabbed them as well. If not... they just sold on ebay for $120 or so...I forget exactly. I have 4 Japan MacGregor sets. Two VIP remakes - that copy the 67 -68 models ane Tourney Muscle II and another Tourney that is a copy of the 69 Tourney - but with modern touches. All are satin. Don Kilkenny @ MacGregor told me MacGregor owned 25% of a company in Japan. I am trying to find out when and if these are high end or what. Its sad that MacGregor has so much history and they are *&^$% clueless today. I have heard Japan items are usually high quality...but it seems they collected heavily in the past and there are all these sets made for that market. I did just buy another set from a guy in Hi. - a Japan MacGregor - and he has another set available. It has Nicklaus' name, Custom Limited, and is a copy of the 985s or Norman Signatures - if you are familiar with those. They are new with face plastic and would go for about $240 + shipping. Contact me if you need info. [email protected] Good luck. ALSO let me know how you like your set.
