If you believe Hot Stix, they have told me that all shafts regardless of origin, Manufacture or retail/tour have A,B,C product. They grade every shaft that comes to them with their own software regarding the actual roundness, straightness and torque. All manufactures have shafts that grade out in the A - Best, B - Good, and C - Not so good categories. Now the Japanese manufactures are much more frequently rated as A's but not all. That's where puring comes in. With a Fujikura you are almost assured of an A or B. Aligning the hardest side toward the target can only improve the consistency of what will likely be a very good shaft. How much $$ is that piece of mind worth? Ice
