I have been lucky enough to get hold of on of the new Callaway Tour balls that is due to be releast June/July 05 The Callaway rep said these balls are very rare at the minute as he only had 3 dozen to give out, the most noticable thing i could see with the design is that it has 6 hex dimples which are much deeper than the others,they are equally spaced out around the ball -- " these deeper dimples are supposed to help reduce drag & the cover is to be sheer proof". the ball has been called <HX TOUR 56> which the rep. told me is not actually going to be the name of the ball when it's releast later on -- in fact he said Callaway have not made up their minds on what the ball will be called !! So as you can guess i have not taken it out on the course to play with it as i wouldn't want to hook out of bounds on the first hole !! BTW you wanna see the new X18 Tour's they are the "Muts Nuts" apparently only 1600 set are to come into Europe -- what's that all about ? Nige

thanks for the info, i use Call'y BB 04's with standard uniflex steel shafts -- what shafts would you reccomend that would give me a quicker launch angle & a higher ball flight ? Nige

any advice please on fitting ribbed grips properly on irons & drivers & woods ?

I'm not a total 'hacker' playing of 5 at the minute but i would like to hit ball higher with all of my clubs when i need to.. my current ball flight is Ok most times but i would like any advice you have to get it up !!! Nige

since changing from an R&A to USGA conforming XD i haven't lost any more than 5 yards max, but with the Vista being a 50grm 'R' & the Ice a 'S' 85grm i think this is were i've lost a little launch hight... i will try a lead strip on the sole towards the face now that i have an idea of where to put it... thanks again for your help. thanks for the onfo... exactly on the sfaft were should i add the lead tape & how much to soften the flex slightly ? My last XD had a Vista 50 'R' which i still have should i not get on with the Purple Ice but i'll give it a go for a month or two.

Can anyone help me out ? i had to have my XD resprayed after a mate scuffed it with his spikes and now that it sorted i need to get hold of a TP crest/badge to make it look the part again as it looks quite bare & crude without it. i'm willing to pay if i have to !! Nige

i've have used Vist Pro 50 'R' in my last 580 XD & i found it to suit me a lot better than the stock TM shaft, for me it got the ball up faster & gave me more club head speed, I kept it when i sold my XD and i've now got a conforming XD with a purple ice 's' shaft which seems to be Ok at the minute but my ball flight is lower now. I would highly rate the Vista 50 & i might go back to it. Nige
