  1. The gentlemen ask where you position the ball as it's a question that should provoke a thought from you that hmmm...maybe you are placing the ball too far forward. They ask the question and your reply was simply, "Inside my left foot." Okay....now think a bit about their question and where they were pushing your brain to ponder...... Test. Take your address. Have someowne take a club and place it on the line from inside your left foot, parallel to the ball. First that'll show if you are really placing the ball where you think you are. Great. Now on the mat, put down a small piece of duct tape where the club meets your left inner foot. Remove the club on the ground. The tee has not moved, now you have a line which will set up the test.... Hit from that position (foot with tape just touching the inner left foot). Look at the numbers on the screen. Whatdda ya see? Okay, now move the ball two inches further back in your stance (don't simply widen your stance by moving the left foot forward, move both feet closer to the target by two inches). Hit ten balls. Whatdda ya see in terms of backspin and launch angle? If you STILL have high launch and high spin, you are probably casting from the top of your swing, scooping/flippy at impact which casues these types of high launch/high spin numbers. You are probably very steep on your downswing, cutting at the ball, hitting fades/slices. Flatten your dowswing plane. Cured. Don't give up on golf. Good luck.
  2. I gave it more thought. Assuming you are a right handed golfer, on the downswing, your right shoulder must be passive. See how low (without dipping or stooping/getting out of your spine angle)...see how low you can get your right shoulder to the ground as the clun head approcahes impact. A passive right shoulder is key to allowing your arms to work properly. Most people cannot do this. Some can keep their lag on the way down, but most cast at some point on the way down, have nothing left, and yank. If you try the right shoulder drill, you'll find you will have a feeling/sense of being behind the ball at impact. That is my two cents and very sound advice. You cannot be doing this, impossible, according to your description of your problem. Look at my swing link again and click on 'next frame'...stare at his right shoulder leading into/at/post impact!!!: http://www.golfonline.com/golfonline/instr...,634482,00.html Good luck.
  3. Wack, in some pictures she looks super duper hot and in some, she looks like a triple bogey. I think the makeup artist has his/her work cut out for themselves.
  4. Also, if you really want to poke/make fun of me...look at the ball I use. It has 'tour' in the name.
  5. I'm all for golfers seeking Tour product, no doubt and yes, this is a great site to seek/obtain it. It's just that when someone has a club they groove on, they feel obligated/compelled to justify/know if its a 'Tour' club or not. I hope your 3-wood goes 260 with a slight fade and you are content with it, either way. Enjoy.
  6. Tour model, tour model. I could not tell you if it is a Tour Model but let me ask you an honest question: Who cares? Really. You like the club. The club likes you. You like eachother. You hit it well, it sets up nice and looks pretty at addres. If the Tour Model Tooth Fairy comes to you tonight and leaves a 'Tour Model' Cleveland Head under your pillow, will you have a lower score tomorrow? Does the Earth's axis move? Tour tour tour. A tour model that you buy might have been dialed-in with extra rat glue, a heavier swingweight, lighter swing weight. Does that mean it's for you? Watch the Daytona 500? Now those are what, Tour Model Fords? Does that mean the car is perfect for a family of five to drive across country on vacation? Have you ever eaten a Tour Model Porterhouse steak? Was it better than Smith and Wollensky's or Peter Luger's? How about Tour Model Boxer shorts, I hear they are the latest craze. Ever try Tour Model toothpaste, your teeth get white in the exact same time as regular toothpaste...but at twice the price! Joe Kwok on this site, or a gifted club maker could not just make you a so-called 'Tour Model' but could create a 'Made-for-you' Model. THAT IS WHAT THE PROS GET!!! I am sorry to be so cynical, it's just that I am sick and tired of hearing about people seeking, begging, buying, raving and non-stop chatter about "Tour Model" this and "Tour Model" that. You like the Cleveland 3-wood? Get a dremmel kit and file a 'T' onto the hosel. Bam, you got a Tour Model. Better yet, have a gifted club maker create one for you and have your initials carved in it, it's all yours man. Enjoy and good luck.
  7. :money: :beer2: :money: :beer2:  :o :money: :beer2: :pot: :beer2: :-D :D Enjoy the beer, the barstool and golf!
  8. Sergio can't putt. Period. He may have a streak for one round, maybe two, but he is a weak with the flat blade. He can't putt at age 20, or even to this day. He goes through putters like a drunk goes through bar stools. He has too much tension over the ball whether it be a five iron or a putter. He re-grips a lot less than he used to but he has too much going on with his swing. His right knee moves and bows out laterally during the backswing. This flaw helps him generate power in his loopy swing, but offers inconsistent results and his head rises and falls during the swing. The right knee bows and moves, he has a little, tiny reverse pivot (so did Hogan though) at the top. He certainly has a nice downswing plane and lag. He cannot, imho, with all of this and being so weak with the putter, ever be #1 in the World. He may grab a major one day, until then, at the age of 25, he has 5 PGA TOur victories. In 2005 on the PGA Tour, he ranks 184th in Putts per round,. Yes, 184th, THAT IS DEAD LAST. He ranks 180th in Birdie-Conversion Percentage (meaning he cannot put/putt the ball in the hole) and very oddly, he ranks 7th on Scoring Average before the Cut, yet ranks 150th in Scoring Average After the Cut. His scoring numbers before the cut and after the cut are so strange, he can't surge (pun intended) ahead when others shoot for the pin on the weekend and even if he is near the pin, he cannot putt (last on the Tour). He ranks 127th on Par Three Birdie Leaders and 154th on Par Five Birdie Leaders. His driver is weak but the best part of his game in 2005, he ranks 12th in distance yet 127th in accuracy. Jay Haas is twice his age and much better, he has a sound swing and a decent putter. When I see Sergio endorse his putter ball in the back of the magazines, I laugh. Sergio has Seve Ballesteros Disease. 'S.B.D runs on chutzpah, ego, emotions, flair and flails when the going gets rough. He lost a lot of fan base at Bethpage when he whined as it rained, "They'd stop play if Tiger was out here." Sorry for picking on Sergio. I just do not care for him. Padraig Harrington, Adam Scott, DL3, Toms, Furyk (ugly swing but boy can he putt), Justin Rose or Kevin Na, Shigeki, Jiminez and DiMarco (don't stare at the swing but again another great putter)...all names who might be # 6 or 7....imo
  9. Buy a can of Mineral Spirits. They used gasoline back in the day! Yep, gasoline. Go buy a container of Mineral Spirits at your local hardware store.
  10. 1). Point your back to the target Visual and Drill. 2). Get your left shoulder over your right knee Visual and Drill. 3). Get the club head to point at the target at the top Visual and Drill. 4). Pretend the club shaft is a hose and water sprays out of the head...get the water towards the fire (target) at the top of the backswing. 5). Put your right wrist under your left wrist (no club used) and swing them to the top of the backswing (your right wrist is hooked under the left, pulling it to the top. Leadbetter does this drill).
  11. I tend to agree with Johnnypro, if you own and love your 983K, why switch? In this sense it is reality check; the 983 series is simply awesome. Yeah people get bent looking at the new 905 series, many seem disappointed but seriously men, how much can Sports Illustrated improve this year's swim suit editon over last year's? How much change could be made to the 983? Would a 425cc or 450cc be nice to see, yes. Still, I think the 905 will do well and it simply pays homage to see how many guys still have the 983 in 2005.
  12. Great to hear others maintain and take pride in their equipment too. I agree, having a wet towel on your bag is huge, the towel must be very wet in one corner. A toothbrush is great too and I use NOXON Metal Polish once a week. It is the BEST. Cleaning your grips after each round is key too, don't forget them. Warm soapy water on a wash cloth, towel dry lightly and let them air dry. NOT keeping your irons in the trunk of your car is brilliant. They clank around and ding each other as well as dry out the grips in 100* summer storage. I check the ferrules every week, I hate it when one gets loose and makes a ticking noise every other shot. I check their lofts at least three times a season, I hit off the mats every day and this can strengthen their loft angles. BUT...the very best way to maintain your irons is.....drumroll....hit em' long and straight!
  13. Chris, Have you seen the X TOur irons up close? If so, what would you compare them to in terms of profile, topline, size etc? Thanks. They look shweet.
  14. If done correctly, one should never add more than 1" for an extension on a shaft (imo). I believe one inch is looked upon as the maximum amount one can add. A customer at my friend's shop insisted and demanded a 1 and 1/2" extension on his driver. He was told 1" was max. They did it for him and it snapped in one of his first rounds. The shop did it again for him, the same thing happened. It will affect swing weight and you'll have to consider the lie angles as well. There are several professional club makers on this site who can offer you the specs of the change of swingweight etc. Me? They are TTDGS300, right? I'd consider a new set of shafts. I'd want to make sure of swingweight etc and the shafts are rather inexpensive. Labor? You'll spend how much time extending the shafts and just maybe, in the back of your mind, you'll have some doubt in the clubs. Your call, Good luck.
  15. I agree, Chris says he will soon have a set of TS ViQ to look at. The TS is, I believe, slightly oversized. The face is larger. My concern with them is the large muscle back bulge, it seems to extend very far from the club. In the meantime, I suggest you change your nickname from 'Hooker' to 'Slight Draw' or 'Controlled draw', okay? Good luck.
