Picked up a Balde from a BST trade board on another site. Been looking at purchasing one for a while and opportunity popped up. I have a few putters here to compare it to, a 15 year old anser, SC Newport oil can and platinum, couple BG MOI proto with solid face. Never been a big fan of insert putters so the Balde was just what I was looking for. This putter is very well balanced, more then I expected. So smooth on the stroke. Much more then the old anser and newports. Finish is top notch, very much like a black chrome on custom car parts. Not to shiny, but has a nice glimmer to it. The deep look in the finish is very impressive. Feelwise this putter is very soft. More then I expected. Myself, I like a soft putter that has a firm feel to it. This is on the soft side. I believe its a combination of the forging and the milling. You can feel the ball come off the face. It feels solid. The BG proto has more a firmer feel, probably just a touch more solid to me but that is because of all the extra mass. Compared to the oil can Newport, its softer, with the Newport more of a thud. Compared to the Platinum, it is very different. Much more of a click on the platinum. Much firmer. The Balde sounds very different, a solid throck when you putt the ball. The Balde beats all the other putters in how it rolls the ball. The milling on the face works, the ball just rolls right when it takes off. I was putting with it and my g/f mentioned how very consistant I was with it. You have a good feeling with this putter that you are going to make it, maybe because it is new, I don't know. The putter seems pretty foregiving. I hit a few on the toe, heel, and low on the face to test it out. Because it is so balanced, miss**ts on the toe and heel were not bad at all, you can keep the putter in line very easily. Putts hit low on the face, i.e. hitting the top half of the ball with the bottom of the putter felt different. You could definitely tell if you hit the sweet spot or not. The ball seemed to just go as well but did not roll as good as on the in the middle. Overall, I am very pleased with the putter. Its in the bag for now. I am tempted to get the Eldik M and Giga as well to try. Higher MOI putters have helped me but I just love the classic look and feel from a Anser type putter. For the price, I give the alde two thumbs up   The finish and soft feel is second to none. I would recommend to anyone wanting a top notch anser style putter that is balanced and very soft. Pics will follow :smile2:
