Thanks for the advice. It looks like there are a few things i need to work on based on your suggestions: * My swing seems to be a little flat so i should work on letting the club go back on a more upright plane. *Secondly my stance and posture just appear to be awfull, getting this sorted while on holiday will take priority. Thanks for the ideas Rowan

I have been worried about this for some time but dont really want to change the posture until the end of the season- it would just be too big a change for me to play well with in the short term. Having said that i have a month and a weeks holiday soon in Singapore during which i can start changing things Cheers Rowan

My stock shot is a draw, but i sometimes struggle to fade the ball at will- tends to go straight right. That video is a quite old and i have played a lot of golf since then so i will put up another video soon.

I dont really have one big miss, but as i am only 5 foot 7 my coach has always stressed the importance of not being steep, if anything he prefers me to swing slightly flatter ala ian woosnam rather than being too steep. This video is about a month and a half old and i havent had a lesson since then. Anyone think i should try and change my plane?

Heres a video of my swing, i would be very interested to see what you think about it. As you can see i am very much a rythm player hitting the ball around 160 with a 7 iron, there are some things i would like to change- im sure you will spot them!! Click here to watch MVI_013242 Rb
  7. Yeah they had a bet with me that they didnt expect me to get over GCSE (16 year old national tests in the UK) results. Made em pay

Looks real nice  Does anyone know if we can custom order the wedges on their own. Those mp's look sweet
  12. I have had a problem with releasing the club early for a long time (casting), and my coach recommended the following ways of getting rid of it. 1. If you tend to swing the club quickly try slowing your swing down, and instead of starting down with your hands at the top, turn through first and feel as if you are dragging the club behind you. This helps to maintain wrist flex and a slower swing with good rythm is more consistent that a quick swing with poor timing. I hit the ball just as far now as i used to with a much slower swing, as a result i am more accurate and consistent. 2. You will need a range session for this one but really try and maintain the angle of wrist set when starting down, almost feel sergio like. This is more of an excersise to get the feeling of what you are trying to achieve, rather than being mechanical. If you cast from the top this will feel very alien to you. 3. Finally what are your divots like? If they are shallow this indicates a shallow angle of attack. To steepen this i hit a lot of punchy type shots (at the range) , , using a fullish swing and with the ball back in my stance, working on getting the club to really descend steeply on the ball. This should help you to really get some feeling of squashing the ball against the turf and compressing it. Hope this helps Rowan
  13. I doubt it, called taylormade in th uk to check up on a tour issue r540xd head and they told me that a) I wasnt meant to have a tour issue club in the first place and B) That i i sent it back for any work they would more than likely swap it for a retail head Sucks i know.....
  14. Sorry to bring this up again but its better than bringing up a new post.... I now have the head and will soon order a GD Purple ice to go in it, is this a good combination? Also as i am at home and ordering the shaft over the phone i assume the shaft is a .335 standard bore? I cant get any thing in more than an inch and a half/ 2 inches in to the head, leaving an inch and a half between the bottom of the shaft and the sole of the driver. Does this sound about right? Rowan

Further to my post about the r540xd head (which received no replies :wah: ) Can anyone explain to me the principle of swingweight? And if i have a 200 gram head what weight shaft would i need to get in order to obtain a D2 swingweight. Thank you Rowan
  16. Hi As a relative novice at clubmaking but the proud new owner of a tm R540XD 8.5 head, which weighs around 200grams. i need some help choosing a shaft. Using the criteria below can somebody recommend me one... 1) I need the club to swing at D2, the head is 200 grams and i will use a lamkin crossline grip with 2 layers of tape underneath, i want the driverlength to be 45 inches. What shaft weight should i go for? 2) In the weight category obtained by answering 1, can anyone recommend a low torque shaft that launches the ball higher than normal? I have heard that tm tour heads launch it low and 8.5 is a lower loft than i normally use. 3)Finally based on the shaft selection, how many inches should it be inserted into the head in order to get it to play to a stock stiff or even slightly stiffer. Thanks for all your help Rowan
  17. Cheers guys i bought it, it definately looks legit as i have used the search function and compared the club to several posts about it. It has 1 The T XXXXX serial number 2. TP Logo on the toe 3. Underlined .5 degree mark 4. Different sole design to the retail xd- like the origonal r500 series sole I will let you know how i get on.... Rowan
  18. Hi, I am about to pull the trigger on a Taylormade r540xd tour head. It looks perfectly legit with a Txxxxx serial number, but above the serial number there is a B above it. Does anyone know what this stands for, i am really close to buying this club so quick replies would be appreciated. Cheers Rowan

  20. Um well most if not all EU countries have a drinking age, but the laws are very relaxed due to the attitude of the people. For example in Italy drink is a way of life and the drinking age is 12 or 14- i cant remember which....
  21. In England the drinking age is 18, although at 16 you can have a drink with a meal  .

So did Tommy Bjorn before he went with srixons. Shorter length blade with more offset and thicker topline. His srixons were carbon copies. regards rb

Are these irons designed to be a low CG replacement for the mp33's? The performance of these irons better be good to win over those people that dont like the looks. I dont know whether this has been mentioned before but mizuno have put out a little teaser at cutmuscle.com rb
