Swingwieght set-up
From the marking, it looks like the rep didn't indicate what was supposed to be custom, or the guy who fit you know nothing at all about this.Anyway! Swingweight is more of an individual feel IMO. it's very personal, especially for extreme set up. I would have to say it's not about how heavy is to heavy, it's all about maximizing your potential w/ the club by matching it properly w/ your body posture. After that, build a set that are at least close enough being consistent on the spec through out the set. I can't tell you much what i should do for you and your club in term of what set up need to be, however looking at your 3 & 4 wood, some one just cut it to short from normal standard lenght. 43" on the 3 wood and 42.5" on the 4 wood ( I assumed you meant C 8.5 for the 4 wood ). Base on what you said here and how your iron set up, I would build your driver at least at 46" , 44 on your 3 wood and 43 or 43.5 on your 4 wood and bring the swing weight at around D6, and if possible...I would try to bring your irons at least a couple points to make it closer to the new woods set up. Definitely check on your lie and loft angle to get a better consistent impact and distance control. It will make the game so much more fun if you have a properly fitted club. Just make sure you got some one that knows what he is doing, not just a cut and glue shop who are looking for profit only. It's not easy to fit soem one like you, w/ patient and experiences...it shouldn't be a problem. Good Luck! Joe

Fuji numbers
I can't remember it to well on 757 , cuz it's been a while on that one. if i'm not wrong: 7 is for weight category ( 78gr ) 5 is for wood shaft 7 is for the year they were engineered (1997). As of the middle number, 5.6.7.8.9 are numbers for wood shaft. 1.2.3.4 are for iron shaft ( ex: 717 speeder is an iron shaft ). Joe
-
Fuji numbers
1st #5 is weight category ( in the 50's gr ) 2nd #5 is numbering for wood shaft ( #5-#9 ) 3rd #3 is the year they engineered the shaft ( 2003 ) However, on the newer Z COM series shaft is different, for example: TW74, T is for tip flex, W is for wood, 7 is for weight's category, 4 is the year they'd engineered. Be aware! I don't know when they started this method of marking. Joe

Swingwieght set-up
1. If you can't tell me the exact lenght , I can't help you much. I don't like to guess! 2. When you order a custom Mizuno, You should've told them to have them in a custom weighted heads also to get around D6 at the most and D7or8 on the PW, and you should build your woods base on that sw also. Mizuno is one of the best company who can do this type of custom order. As of the lenght on the woods, is not a big deal IMO, the biggest deal of the woods is your lie angle, cuz you are extremely tall person. If you are comfortable and you think the lie are ok, you need to bring the swing weight and adjust them internally. You need to pull the shaft out first to be able to do this for most OEM. Callaway , Titleist , Srixon and some other oem who design their club w/ access without pulling out the shaft first. Joe

What does foaming a driver head actually do?????
I'm not sure if you want to do it on a composite heads. I did one w/ Mizuno, it makes the sound horrible. :surprize: Joe

Boys, So sorry that i have to brake your heart. :wah: They told me they don't even have it that much at all and at this moment only tour van has it in stock. They also still not sure if they are gonna be in production. However, they told me the beauty of this shaft is that they build this all in high kick regardless what the weight is and not as boardy as the Laker's shaft. Joe

What does foaming a driver head actually do?????
Thanks Joe. On your rough guide of 1/2" staed above. Any difference if it is tip end of butt end. I'm thinking there is especially at the tip end. Need your expert clarification. Let me see if i get you right here. I'm a bit confuse here :-D If you cut the butt end 1/2" and adjust the head weight to the same sw as before, that means the shaft will play softer due to heavier head. But, if cut the tip end 1/2" and adjust the sw back to what it was before, Then the stiffness of the shaft will stay somewhat the same as before. Off course your club now is 1/2" shorter. Hope you get that! Joe

It's more of twack than ting ! It will increase the weight for 400cc driver about 11-13 grams. A lot of them do it w/ cotton ball also, but the sound of foam is more twack ( muter ), but yet cotton ball is only increase around 6 grams at the most if i'm not wrong. Joe  Joe, if so much weight is added, won;t the setup then play softer and CPM lower? As a guide for us novices, is there a general rule eg 4 grams added headweight = 5 CPM lower = half flex softer etc.? Let me make it simpler for you here. :smile1: What ever you add on the head you need to adjust the lenght of the club to get the lenght you need. That is why it's critical to make a decision to go w/ it or not. And calculation has to be made before applying it. Say you really want to do it, say if we are lucky enough to find a head that has to much rat glue inside. After draining all the glue out , you probably can get a 195-198 grams head + 11-12 grams foam you'll end up 206 - 210, that means you need to adjust the lenght of the shaft to get the swingweight that you can tolerate, If you do end up w/ the same lenght and swing weight w/ before, that means you don't need to worry but if end up w/ heavier sw that means the shaft will play softer (IMO up to 4 cpm most of us can hardly feel it ). But yet if you ignore the lenght and go after the same swing weight w/ before, That means you need to tipped it from the tip to compensate the heavier head to get somewhat the same flex as before. In Siteseer2 case, He has the R7 Shallow tour issue and he only want it at 44.5" total lenght w/ around D2-3 swingweight and he picked a brand new shaft from me to put it on. So to get the right head weight is not a problem, because he can always change to a lighter screws to get the right head weight to accomodate D2-3 sw w/ 44.5". My job on his club was to get the right tipping for his requested flex. My guidance to get the CPM as close as possible is my freq machine. I don't like to go by the book 100% on this issue because every shaft charracter is different. I have the number on my head to get a certain number that i think is the right one for certain shaft. However book is a good thing to know so you'll never make a mistake to far. For result you need to ask him directly! Anyway, if you need a deeper discussion, My phone is always by my side. :smile1: Cheers! Joe  ps: 1/2" = 3 sw = 5 cpm ( normal case ) 1 sw = 2 gr

Pro Force Proto V2 ( ADAM SCOTT'S SHAFT )
It's all about fitting the right shaft for the right swing and the right mind. Not about the price only nor look only nor perfomance only. For some of them all aspect has to be in their hand but some don't. I can only say that what ever the price they were asking...it's better be worth it, Right?. But yet the law of business is supply and demand. Nothing we can do on this one, market will dictate how the product will be. This is why endorsement deal to an athlete is very important to them. The quality consistency is the other problem, eventhough they are getting better and better. Some are better than others. For my part on this issue, If the product are not consistent, that means it will give me more headache to install them. After all, It's all depends on the clubmakers whether they are looking for profit only or customer satisfaction or both. Experience clubmakers know what they need to do to make it at least close to what you need. A good Clubmakers need to understand every products characteristic in their shop to be able to recommend the customers. That means they need to test every one of them before deciding to carry that product in their shop. However, you need to remember clubmakers are not GOD, not even close to a cult leader :smile1: . Swing is the one make the final result where the ball end up. Cheers! Joe

Pro Force Proto V2 ( ADAM SCOTT'S SHAFT )
I got this email from UST and cut and paste the quote from them: UST Tour representative Jim McIntosh says the Nissan Open champion put the UST Proforce Prototype (V2) shaft in play on Thursday and promptly went out and shot 67. “Not bad for a guy who has played steel seemingly forever,” says Tosh. “The prototype shaft that won was an 86-gram, low-torque shaft with a very balanced profile. We call it the ‘V2’ shaft, or Version 2 of the Proforce line. Night and day different structurally.” Currently, the new Proforce V2 shafts are offered in 55-, 65-, 75-, 85- and 95-gram versions, however, the new shaft is only available as a prototype on Tour. Now, I'm gonna try to ask the rep if i can get the exact shaft for us here at TSG. However I want to see how much interest we have here first. Wadaya guys think? Chime in if any of you interested in this shaft. Don't worry I will do my best to give a fair price on them. Thanks! Joe!

authenticity of the 1 of 15 ever made EL NINO shaft?????
Yo bro, 15 or 1500 made, who knows and who cares? First of all anyone who would spend $500 sight unseen :money: for a untested shaft has more than a few screws loose IMHFO. I mean it is supposed to be made for Sergio which makes it a bad choice for 99.99999999% of the golfing public. And TM is dumping excess to resellers? WTF? Why? I guess nobody on tour needs or wants it. Check the shaft counts man. Fuji and GD own the business. I think even UST is ahead of Mitsubishi. Don't get me wrong Mitsu makes a very nice product but you can get 2 Fujis installed from a authorized dealer for $500. Get properly fit and get a full warranty. Maybe a nice zcom tw74. JC, You are making me slip off the chair bro! LMAO!!! :surprize: I can see that you really like that TW74 ha, Good call on that one ! Joe  Joey, Thanks man. you know I was intent on getting that tw74 well before Fuji was ready to sell them in the USA. VERY nice and I appreciate it. JC Anytime! I'll be happy to help you in any ways.Joe

authenticity of the 1 of 15 ever made EL NINO shaft?????
I've seen and worked on some of them, At least 8-10 of them! So that will make it at least 17, could the other 2 are FAKE? AT LEAST!!! BTW, I wonder if A shaft company spend $$$ on R&D to only build 15 shafts. Plus I wonder how many of the tour players use it and who are they? Or somebody just playing w/ our heads. :D I wonder If TM Tour Dept can clarify this issue!!! Joe

The biggest % of it is FEEL IMO, Smaller % is you gonna lower your ball flight. It's more of twack than ting ! It will increase the weight for 400cc driver about 11-13 grams. A lot of them do it w/ cotton ball also, but the sound of foam is more twack ( muter ), but yet cotton ball is only increase around 6 grams at the most if i'm not wrong. So for someone who loves the old pessimon feel, foam is the closest IMO. Joe

Becarefull w/ this one!!!
If I were you I would definitely get authenticated, It's more money on your end if that is what it is. You could send it to me and i can verify it for you but in this case it's more benefit for you if you get it from the man himself. As of me, I only try to help others, I didn't meant any harm. I only say base on what i did and i know. One more thing, The white lining by the insert and holes on the back, I used a shinier silicon than what cameron used. I'm not sure through time it will get duller or not. And the insert is actually still a copper insert w/ nickel plating on top of it. So if you push the silicon or took one of the dot on the back, you can tell it's copper or not. Hope the best for you! Joe
